  1. Billie Eilish's voice was absolutely beautiful on Last Night on Earth!!! They should go into the studio with her and put this new version out as a single!!!!!!!

  3. Just got around to watching the performance because I’m at work and I do layout for a local paper and my coworker asked what photos from the concert she should use and who everyone liked and I still kind of new to the position and she’s remote but I was like “look, I’m a biased Green Day fan so I have to go with them and Billie Eilish”. Decided I should back up my statement by actually watching the show and wow LNOE hit me more than I thought it would. Basically what I’m saying is if you’re in Northeast Ohio and you see Green Day in tomorrow’s paper. You’re welcome.

  4. @jengd I agree. Don’t get me wrong, I think she’s talented, but I can’t deal with the whisper-singing style she’s so attached to. Still, I think the collab of young, newer artist + 90s artist is really cool and if they wanted to record a studio version, it would probably be a huge boost for FireAid. I get excited when Green Day does stuff with younger artists because I feel like it gives them such great exposure to the younger crowd!

  5. Maybe there was somehow less awareness that it's Billie/Green Day? Maybe slightly shorter notice and not reported on as much for whatever reason. Used to work that way with FBHT before social media was so big. But yeah that's crazy, cool that some extra people must've shown up and got tickets!

  7. Crazy that capacity at this venue is only 500 and there's still tickets on the door! London was sold out with 800 capacity!

  9. On this day 14 years ago (1 February 2011), Melissa Etheridge played St. Jimmy in American Idiot on Broadway for the first time. She was chosen for the role by Billie Joe. 15 years ago (1 February 2010), a video was released for 21 Guns featuring Green Day and the cast of American Idiot. More shots from the video: 27 years ago (1 February 1998), Green Day played the Astoria in London, England on the Nimrod Tour. 31 years ago (1 February 1994), Dookie was released!

  11. I’m not a big fan if Billie Eilish, just find her voice odd but this could be a huge success for them and Fire Aid.

  16. Its awesome that they were the opening performance. Love that they picked songs that matched the sentiment of the show instead of playing the hits. Billie(s) sounded great too.

  27. I really loved that they chose such emotional and meaningful songs. It was really touching to hear Last Night on Earth and Still Breathing back to back — Still Breathing always makes me a bit teary, but they really got me this time. They make me so proud!

  28. 30 January 2025 On this day 8 years ago (30 January 2017), Green Day played the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: 27 years ago (30 January 1998), Green Day played Brixton Academy in London, England on the Nimrod Tour. More photos: 29 years ago (30 January 1996), Green Day played the MBK Hall in Bangkok, Thailand on the Insomniac Tour. A Thai band called Barbies opened. Impatient fans chanted Green Day's name throughout their set. They started throwing chairs, water bottles and shoes. When Barbies' set ended, a staff member announced that the MBK Hall was well over capacity and that fans shouldn't jump because the floor might cave in. The MBK Hall was located in a mall – which is still there today – and it seemed that might have been why the shops below shut early. Of course, once Green Day took the stage, the fans did jump. They felt the floor sagging beneath their feet. Fights broke out and people hit each other with chairs. The floor never actually gave way, but someone without a ticket did hit a security guard with a beer bottle until his skull cracked, then broke the door down. Some fans said it was the best show they'd ever seen. Some said it was the worst. However, almost everyone in MBK Hall that day will agree that they wondered if they were going to die that night. More photos: When I went to the Animate shop in that mall I was like "I swear Green Day have played this place" but there's no sign of it ever having held concerts now, so I thought I was wrong, but yeah. The floor doesn't sag anymore, although I suppose I didn't try jumping up and down 32 years ago (30 January 1993), Green Day played The Nite Owl in Pensacola, FL. -------------------- 31 January 2025 On this day 8 years ago (31 January 2017), Green Day played the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, Netherlands on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: 20 years ago (31 January 2005), Green Day played the Point Theatre in Dublin, Ireland on the American Idiot Tour. 27 years ago (31 January 1998), Green Day played a second night at Brixton Academy in London, England on the Nimrod Tour.

  31. Just watched the video. Wow, what a wondeful, dignified and moving performance. I had shivers all the time. With all the bad news around the world and all the shit that's happening lately, this gave me a tiny spark of hope that we'll be alright again one day🥹

  33. Another year, another site GDA/GDC outlives it is a shame though, I quite enjoyed the site and a lot of the info. Thankfully it won’t be lost forever as I know who has 99% of it saved. Definitely wanna find a way to incorporate it into GDA/GDC
