  1. Another year, another site GDA/GDC outlives it is a shame though, I quite enjoyed the site and a lot of the info. Thankfully it won’t be lost forever as I know who has 99% of it saved. Definitely wanna find a way to incorporate it into GDA/GDC

  3. Crazy... 11th year on GDC and I'm not gonna lie even tho I'm not online like I used to be, it would be sad if this website close one day. Long live to GDC. Farewell to fm.

  4. Jeez, that's really a bummer, it was such a good resource. Really makes me take a step back and truly appreciate GDC. I've been coming here for almost 15 years now. That's nucking futz. I really don't know what I would do if GDC went away...

  5. I just wanna add that I sincerely hope the recording history survives in some way And that it's also properly finished in some way (i.e: finishing insomniac and American Idiot, reworking C&V and Demolicous pages, Saviors recording history)

  8. Well, you can thank @Rumpelstiltskin2000, I believe she posted it first in the Green Day Instagram Photos thread.

  10. The following statement has appeared on fromt page of greenday.fm:- January 28, 2025 – 7:15PM GREENDAY.FM IS CLOSING First of all, thank you to everyone that has visited this site over the past 6.5 years and especially those who have contributed their time and energy to help build it. Huge thank-you to Todd who was instrumental in building the audio archive and also contributing a ton of research and knowledge to all areas of the website. Due to a lack of time to properly commit to maintaining and growing this website, GreenDay.fm will permanently shut down on March 9, 2025. Starting today, there will be no further news updates or updates to any of the pages on the site. Our sister site, GreenDayLive.fm, will continue on and some features from this site will be moved there. This site originally launched way back in 1996 and died out about 6 years later in 2002. So I guess it’s fitting that the resurrected version of that old website would suffer the same fate after 6 years as well. Thank you again for visiting, hope to see you all on our Discord and at GreenDayLive.fm. – Jason This is devastating news. I can't believe this is happening. I feel so sorry for Jason who has dedicated his life to the current and previous site launched in 1996. The information on this site, a lot where you can listen to unreleased songs, demos and covers, live performances and much much more. There's also loads of stats that will be lost. Hopefully some info can be saved as suggested on sister site greendaylive.fm. I don't know if this is possible but can some of the databases be passed to GDA? Thank you so much Jason for all your hard work and efforts. I've really loved your site, and I have learnt so much more about this band thanks to you. I will miss it very much. Every happiness to you for the future.

  11. This is sad. Though I didn't use greenday.fm a whole lot, it is sad to see something I have known go away. Long live to GDC , @Little Boy Named Booze

  14. One minor thing I find a little bit irksome about this song... The verses go "do you wanna be my..." 1. Girlfriend 2. Boyfriend 3. Best Friend... right? So in the outro, I always feel like that should be reflected but they just repeat "boyfriend" twice. Do you wanna be my girlfriend? Do you wanna be my boyfriend? Do you wanna be my boyfriend? I always want the last one to be "best friend"

  15. Be like bloody everest! I imagine it to be like a random off the cuff nickname. Yknow like, someone's absently looking for something at the studio and there like "hey beej, have you seen my xyz?" whilst they're looking behind the couch cushions. Can you tell I have an overactive imagination? 😅

  19. Oh you're right! Sadly, I don't think the rebrand has been super successful. They've been slashing the prices dramatically at some of the local grocery stores near me. My friend managed to pick up some Punk Bunny at the store for about 2 bucks.

  20. On this day 8 years ago (28 January 2017), Green Day played in Malmo, Sweden on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: 20 years ago (28 January 2005), Green Day played the MEN Arena in Manchester, England on the American Idiot Tour. More photos: 27 years ago (28 January 1998), Green Day played the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton, England on the Nimrod Tour. 32 years ago (28 January 1993), Green Day played Washington Square in Miami, FL. More pics: Exactly! Just sayin', the arena can hold 16,000 people. There's definitely demand for it because when I saw Sum 41 there last year, their pre-show playlist included All the Time, American Idiot and Basket Case, and everyone went mad (which also means they could safely play All the Time). It's right in the middle of England, easily reached from London and Birmingham. There's an airport. Come on, lads!
