  1. Looks interesting. And they're casting: https://www.okfilmmusic.org/jobs/casting-calls-jobs/two-new-principal-roles-in-new-years-rev https://www.okfilmmusic.org/jobs/casting-calls-jobs/week-1-extras-for-new-years-rev https://www.okfilmmusic.org/jobs/casting-calls-jobs/skateboarders-needed-for-green-day-film-new-years-rev The comedy, written and directed by Lee Kirk, is the story of three friends who journey to Los Angeles to open for Green Day on New Years Eve. Their roadtrip is a rowdy and mischievous jaunt across the country filled with adventures, based on the exploits of Green Day and their years of living in a tour van. The film features Green Day, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey and Sean Gunn in the cast. It is Executive Produced by Ryan Kroft, Michael Rapino and Jonathan Daniel, and produced by Tim Perell, Stella Bulochnikov, Robin Rapino and Jolene.

  2. The most exciting thing for me about Ordinary World was seeing Sean Gunn Kirk and Billie together. It was like two of my favorite worlds colliding. The only thing missing was them stumbling into Hogwarts somehow

  3. They’re casting and shooting in Oklahoma City… I’m totally applying

  5. @pacejunkie punk I assumed they’d go since they’ll seemingly be in town, but they’re not announced as performers. They don’t even air rock categories on TV anymore so I definitely wouldn’t blame them if they skipped it!

  7. Omfg the video Tré's wife (why can't I remember her name?! My brain has gone blank), of his son running into him for a hug and then them both falling over is so heckin cute. 😅

  8. This looks cool! Anyone planning on going? I'm thinking about getting a ticket. $150 for 1 day seems pretty reasonable.

  9. I'm really hoping that they'll play Still Breathing and Last Night On Earth. We don't have many SBD recording of these two songs

  10. Yeah Jenna Fischer teased this on her podcast like 3 years ago and then nothing came of it, I'm assuming because of her cancer diagnosis I've gone ahead and merged this with the original thread I made about this

  11. @solongfromthestarsI remember that poster all too well! I used to pass it every day on the bus to work! Come on Green Day we need you to play Nottingham again. It's been 20 years

  14. On the latest episode of The Office Ladies with Jenna Fischer, and Angler Kinsley, they had the director of Ordinary World, Lee Kirk, on and he revealed he's working on another project with Billie Joe. He didn't give any details as to what it was but clearly Billie still has the acting bug.

  15. Ah yes! Thank you. My brain was fixated on her Instagram username and was like "katherine, kat" and I was sure it wasn't that... 😅

  16. Oh you're right! Sadly, I don't think the rebrand has been super successful. They've been slashing the prices dramatically at some of the local grocery stores near me. My friend managed to pick up some Punk Bunny at the store for about 2 bucks.

  17. I thinking that they might because of what's happened in LA? They'd be kind of relevant?

  20. Finally there’s some news about this. The casting call sheet says Green Day also star I wonder when they’ll shoot their scenes and whether it’s just a cameo. This seems like another semi-biographical Green Day story from Kirk, a twist on a biopic using a random trio to mirror their tour stories. Do you think they’ll include Sleepy, the head in the jar? 😜 Also I know it’s a poor pun of New Year’s Eve but I hope the title changes by release time because it’s awful. I recall Ordinary World also had a cringy working title of Geezer before Billie saved it with his song. Another thought, the premise of this also reminds me of Riding in Vans With Boys with these guys playing the part of Kut U Up (was that the band name?)

  21. On this day 8 years ago (28 January 2017), Green Day played in Malmo, Sweden on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: 20 years ago (28 January 2005), Green Day played the MEN Arena in Manchester, England on the American Idiot Tour. More photos: 27 years ago (28 January 1998), Green Day played the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton, England on the Nimrod Tour. 32 years ago (28 January 1993), Green Day played Washington Square in Miami, FL. More pics: Exactly! Just sayin', the arena can hold 16,000 people. There's definitely demand for it because when I saw Sum 41 there last year, their pre-show playlist included All the Time, American Idiot and Basket Case, and everyone went mad (which also means they could safely play All the Time). It's right in the middle of England, easily reached from London and Birmingham. There's an airport. Come on, lads!

  22. Yes, that's right, a lot of Russians. But of course, the UAE is probably one of the few countries where Russians can currently enter without too many problems. And it's a fact that there are a lot of Green Day fans in Russia as well. I've seen a few local fans.

  26. Yeah this was fairly spot on. My 11th time seeing them (first time outside of England) and by far the quietest. No crowd surfing was nice as I’m always at the front so get booted in the head when I least expect it, but half the people there were literally just there for the AI singles and Basket Case. Being in the front row of a Green Day concert and being the only one to sing along to Letterbomb and Last Night on Earth is absolutely criminal 😂 Sooooooo many phones too. God I hate it, but it is the way of the world unless you go full Bob Dylan. 90% of the crowd seemed to be Russian with the other 10% British/Irish and a smattering of Indians (didn’t see any locals). Was nice to see them in this part of the world (I live in Bahrain so a much cheaper flight than usual!) but I’m definitely looking forward to Download in June for a proper crowd.

  27. Are they even going to the Grammys, I saw the list of performers and they weren’t on it.

  28. Crowd looked fairly hyped in that video of Bobby Sox

  29. Here are my observations from the concert in Dubai: • I didn’t see any crowd surfers. • Barely noticed any mosh pits. • Not once did I get bumped from behind while standing in the front row. • The people next to me seemed like they didn’t know the songs, with hardly any interaction. • Any flags that were held up were immediately stopped by security (possibly to prevent unpopular flags from being displayed). • There seemed to be some last-minute changes to the setlist. Shortly before the start, there was a bit of confusion on stage.

  30. Wow, packing their schedule! They have the other Fire Relief concert the night before and then the Grammys Sunday! We’re being spoiled. Lovely (but not unexpected) to see them playing shows to help the community.

  31. I've always taken She being played live for granted... I had never even considered that they might drop it. I would very much like it back, please and thank you. I'd be more willing to drop any other song from Dookie. And Novacaine... I was so happy to see they had kept it for the South African shows, and hopping that'd be the case for the rest of the tour. I guess it'd make sense to drop it, but it's the song that got me into Green Day and I'll never tire of hearing it live. Go Green Day! Do we know if he refrained from swearing the songs? 😅

  32. Cool to see there's a decent amount of videos on youtube and instagram. What great timing for a surprise show to brighten up miserable January this show was! Gotta love these guys for never getting tired of playing music.

  39. How about a Trilogy movie, complete with bmw's and a tattoo of a pig sniffing glue?! DJ's getting attacked, Billie meeting a girl named Lady Cobra as he rides through his old haunts. and perhaps the most interesting part of the trilogy, that loud, loud dress. WOW.

  40. Cool! I greatly enjoy watching Billie act whether it's good or bad . But I think the best acting he's done (besides the AI musical which was on stage + singing so more in his usual lane) was in Ordinary World. I thought the film itself wasn't great but the acting including Billie's was good. So hoping something comes from this.

  41. https://www.punkbunnycoffee.com/ I am not a coffee drinker, but I will give the coffee to someone who does drink coffee because the bags are cute, lol. I've also noticed that the price has dropped over the past year or so :).
