  7. Green Day recalls 'weird time' taking inspiration from The Rolling Stones https://www.geo.tv/latest/580966-green-day-recalls-weird-time-taking-inspiration-from-the-rolling-stones 4 Legendary Guitar Solos That Prove Simplicity Can Work โ€œHolidayโ€ by Green Day This standout track from American Idiot is a fan favorite, and for good reason. The whole song is excellent, but Billie Joe Armstrong turned this song into a legendary piece of work with that guitar solo. As the solo hits, Armstrong jumps back and forth along a minor scale. The arpeggios are like candy for the ears, and itโ€™s not even that complicated of a solo. Itโ€™s simply a matter of a guitarist having solid taste and knowing what suits the particular song. https://americansongwriter.com/4-legendary-guitar-solos-that-prove-simplicity-can-work/

  8. On this day 32 years ago (26 December 1992), Green Day played 924 Gilman Street. And a flyer: "And it was a great feeling, because we ended up playing with the Ne'er Do Wells, and [John Kiffmeyer] knew we were standing there watching. He was playing really hard, and trying to make it look like he was the man, and one thing you can not do to Tre Cool is to outdrum him. Especially if you are a mediocre drummer at best. One of the first songs we played was 'Longview', which is like a great drummer's song, and from that point on, it was like, 'Dude, you're so over.'" โ€” Billie

  9. On this day 33 years ago (24 December 1991), Green Day played the Rumble Club in Tunbridge Wells, England, which is also a pretty random place. "Second show 24th December 1991 was Pseudo Hippies, Couch Potatoes and Jailcell Recipes and had an abridged version of the Nativity Play, and my bassist passed out drunk whilst crowdsurfing and they stopped mid-song to check he was okay. I have never seen any photos from either show sadly." โ€” Nick Wilkinson There isn't anything on the list for tomorrow, so have Green Day singing a Christmas song
