  1. I just don't have the money these days. My collection kind of stops at 21CB except for some bits and pieces (and I'm buying the Saviors variants one at a time!). Would love that CD with "A quick one" on it though! I was lucky to see them play it at Leeds Festival in 2013

  2. Missed a few days again. It's been a busy week. Anyway. 5 December 2024 On this day 20 years ago (5 December 2004), Green Day played in Mexico City on the American Idiot Tour. 24 years ago (5 December 2000), Green Day played the Palladium in Cologne, Germany on the Warning Tour. 30 years ago (5 December 1994), Green Day played the Z100 Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden in NYC... that time when Billie didn't know if he'd ever play there again so he got naked. More photos: 33 years ago (5 December 1991), Green Day played in Mainz, Germany. ------------------ 6 December 2024 On this day 5 years ago (6 December 2019), The Coverups played the Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa, CA. 14 years ago (6 December 2010), Depression Times by Rodeo Queens (Green Day and Jesse Malin) was released. Here's a video of Jesse Malin talking about it. More photos from the studio: 15 years ago (6 December 2009), Green Day played in Adelaide, Australia on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. 19 years ago (6 December 2005), Green Day played Boulevard of Broken Dreams at the Billboard Music Awards. They won six awards: Billboard 200 Album Group of the Year, Pop Group of the Year, Hot 100 Group of the Year, Rock Artist of the Year, Modern Rock Artist of the Year, and Rock Single of the Year (for Boulevard of Broken Dreams). They were also nominated for Artist of the Year and Album of the Year, but lost both to 50 Cent. They lost Digital Song of the Year to Gwen Stefani. More photos: 27 years ago (6 December 1997), Green Day played the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas in Universal City, CA. More photos: 29 years ago (6 December 1995), Green Day played the Kiefer UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, LA on the Insomniac Tour. 32 years ago (6 December 1992), Green Day played the Paradise Lounge in San Francisco, CA. 33 years ago (6 December 1991), Green Day played La Zone in Liège, Belgium. ------------------ 7 December 2024 On this day last year (7 December 2023), the Dilemma music video was released. 20 years ago (7 December 2004), Green Day played The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, NV on the American Idiot Tour. More photos: 24 years ago (7 December 2000), Green Day played the MEN Arena in Manchester, England on the Warning Tour. 27 years ago (7 December 1997), Green Day played Club Rio in Tempe, AZ on the Nimrod Tour. 29 years ago (7 December 1995), Green Day played the Astroarena, Houston on the Insomniac Tour. 33 years ago (7 December 1991), Green Day played Kalashnikov in Terneuzen, Netherlands. ------------------ 8 December 2024 On this day 15 years ago (8 December 2009), Green Day played in Brisbane, Australia on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. 20 years ago (8 December 2004), Green Day played Boulevard of Broken Dreams at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, NV. That photo was EVERYWHERE back then. More photos: 24 years ago (8 December 2000), Green Day played Wembley Arena in London, England on the Warning Tour. 27 years ago (8 December 1997), Green Day played SOMA in San Diego, CA on the Nimrod Tour. "As with the show in LA, Whip It was played right before Green Day came on. Billie, Mike, and Tre ran onto the stage. Everyone went wild. Then with no intro, Billie starts with, 'Here we go again,' then Mike and Tre join in. After like the third song, some prick in the audience started throwing shit at Mike. Mike warned him by stating, 'If you throw anything else, I'm going to beat your fucking ass.' Well, after the next song, Mike jumped into the crowd to do just that, beat that kid's ass. Guess who it was? It was Mark Hoppus from the band Blink-182. (What a dick!) Anyway, they played just about everything I could have asked for (save for Eye Of The Tiger). They even brought a kid up on stage to play Knowledge with them. Billie is hilarious. He made fun of Bush, Matchbox 20, and especially Marilyn Manson. He even sang The Beautiful People over the bass line of Longview. At the end of the show, as always, Mike and Tre trashed the stage while Billie played around with his guitar playing some nasty-ass chords. Then he closed with Good Riddance. I swear to God it brought tears to my eyes. It was the best show I ever seen." — Rick Savage 29 years ago (8 December 1995), Green Day played the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, TX on the Insomniac Tour. 32 years ago (8 December 1992), Green Day played Thunder Bay in Berkeley, CA. 33 years ago (8 December 1991), Green Day played Vort'n Vis in Ypres, Belgium. "I was there, interviewed Billie Joe and Tre for my zine. They were really nice, we talked for 30 minutes on the first floor. And their concert was excellent! They played for 45 minutes, good level of energy, they seemed to enjoy themselves. I went to a lot of gigs at the Vort'n Vis at that time and I definitely respect them more than many of 'DIY' hardcore punk bands playing drunk, being very sloppy and touring Europe solely for sightseeing and free beer." — Philippe Klur Interestingly, someone else said the opposite: "Mike Dirnt, Tré Cool and Billie Joe Armstrong acted really 'cool'. They weren't very friendly, mildly put. Were they having a 'green day'? Or were they expecting a fancier venuer? Never saw any photos of that gig. The only trace of their passage seems to be the entry in the Vort'n Vis guestbook." — 90's Vort'n Vis 35 years ago (8 December 1989), Green Day played 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, CA. More photos:

  6. (2) They had 45+ tracks during these era and we only know less than half of these (which are the album tracks) excluding Wonderful, Murder City and other unknown post-2008 tracks.

  7. So true. You're just got to keep checking ebay regularly, especially for sale offers. Been some great discount offers on Discogs recently.

  8. Well, you should check eBay more often. Nowadays I found gems like: Singles Box (1998 Japanese version), Poprocks & Coke Japanese Single, some Warning (album) Promo just to mention some stuff, and sometimes you could be really lucky with the prices.

  10. Your both so right. It's so addictive. Can't stop playing the album, it's awesome. So, it's no use resisting the urge to play it, you can't fight it. "But it's just enough being alive, don't break your heart chasing the sun, Don't wish on stars, just let them shine, Shine". ❤️

  18. Not sure if these are relevant and of era mentioned. Telephone message songs, poor quality including:- What About Today 2006 Things I Heard Today 2006 Second Time around 2007 Would be great to hear quality demos of those. Also, Hybrid Moments 2002. Is only a video release? Other songs on You Tube as MP3, Waste Away (Demo) The Pedestrian (Demo) Broadway (Demo)

  20. This is actually the only theory I've read about the tapes having disappeared (in one way or another) that I'm willing to believe. I can kind of see that happening, and would explain why they have never released a studio version of C&V even if there is a live version out there. If this is what happened, then I can also imagine that the "stolen tapes" story was probably also made up to hype the fans about it, so they would really want to listen to it, thus creating a market for those tapes that the label wouldn't "push" and that now they have no way of releasing and profiting from. Being indeed a very punky move. If that's what they did, I see you guys, and you are little punk geniuses. I've said it before and I'll say it again, that American Idiot alt version is the missing link between Warning and American Idiot (the albums, not the songs).
