  1. On this day 19 years ago (3 December 2005), Green Day won the BIG Music Artist award at the VH1 Big in '05 Awards. More photos: 20 years ago (3 December 2004), Green Day played the Arena in Monterrey, Mexico on the American Idiot Tour. 24 years ago (3 December 2000), Green Day played the PalaVobis in Milan, Italy on the Warning Tour. 27 years ago (3 December 1997), Green Day played La Luna in Portland, OR on the Nimrod Tour. 29 years ago (3 December 1995), Green Day played a second night at the Auditorium in West Palm Beach, FL on the Insomniac Tour. 30 years ago (3 December 1994), Green Day attended a fundraiser for Counter Aid at Sam Goody in NYC. 2. UPDATE: I think this stuff is as highly caffeinated as they claim LOL. I don't drink a lot of coffee, but I made the mistake of drinking this in the afternoon yesterday after I had already had coffee in the morning, and I barely slept last night LOL. But somehow I am still not tired.

  3. Same, one of my jobs is cleaning a restaurant for 2.5 hours on my own early in the morning and I've been listening to it every shift for a while. Never would have guessed my favorite PHGP album would come out in 2024!

  7. Green Day haven't been playing songs from 4 of their albums, and I wanted to look at setlist.fm and see when they dropped these albums from their sets. I was surprised to learn that they never completely stopped performing songs from any album cycle. Below, I make note of the most recent performances from each album: 39/Smooth - they played some songs in 2023. Rev Rad - they played the title track this year, 2024! Uno - Oh Love was played in 2023. Dos - Amy was played in 2017. Tre - 99 Revolutions made it up to 2015. Father of ALl - the title track and graffitia were played in 2023.

  9. "I Don't Want To Know If You Are Lonley" technically wasn't a studio recording, it was basically performed live without a crowd, so I dunno, they could go either way with that one. It's always bothered me that the guitar is barely audible on that recording. As for the early songs such as their first demo tape, I don't believe they have the master recordings in their possession, judging by the demo of Sweet Children that they released on the Turn It Around Documentary soundtrack, it still sounds like an old, degraded cassette. Same for the Dookie demos, the ones on the Dookie box set were ripped from the tape and the session that featured "Walking The Dog" was even the same bootleg version in bad quality. Either the master tapes were wiped out or thrown away because they didn't care about demos or they're collecting dust in someone's attic or basement.

  10. Yeah it's cool that you shared what you heard and obviously very cool if it's true. But it's also funny (and absolutely hilarious if it's true) because of the history of it here . It was a fun time on the forum so hearing that mentioned again brings back memories.

  12. Thought this was a photo the gearheads here would get a kick out of. Taken at the Randalls Island stop of the 2000 Warped Tour. At close inspection, that is a purple bungee cable attached to Billie's strap then taped to Blue. Never would've thought that for someone as short as him, maxing out the strap length still wasn't cutting it. Gotta love the aspects of his rig that were just MacGyvered together.

  16. I just found On the Radio (Live) on spotify, but when you go to Green Day's page and select "all releases" this one isn't there. It's on spotify, but you have to search for it. Weird and annoying. Makes me wonder what else their official spotify page is missing...

  17. So I finally tried this! Someone got me the Last Ride In medium roast as an early holiday gift. It started out a little bitter but then got really smooth and good. I don't drink tons of coffee so I don't have a lot to compare it to. I did really enjoy it though!

  19. Having really enjoyed AI 20th Box Set, it remined me of this amazing 14 minutes of heaven with the band in the studio recording AI. Love pretending I've got an exclusive seat there in the studio, listening to and loving every jaw dropping minute, as they discuss and develop each song. Maybe this should have been included in the box set.

  20. Hillside Dance was a joke fake album name on this forum that people made fake album covers for on MS paint and stuff 16 years ago. If the person was a GD fan they honestly might have been trolling you. Amazing if true and the name actually came from something real all that time ago lol. But people aren't being "judgemental" they're just reacting based on the info we already know about that name.

  21. On this day 24 years ago (2 December 2000), Green Day played in Florence, Italy on the Warning Tour. 27 years ago (2 December 1997), Green Day played DV8 in Seattle, WA on the Nimrod Tour. "I used to teach at John Swett High in Crockett, California. And I had this kid in class who became a rock star. I remember Billie Joe well. He used to sit in my math class on the third floor of the ancient, run down brick building in the back of the room right next to the window. He had a perfect view of 'Tight Wad Hill.' I don't remember if he was a good student ... if he did his homework or got good grades. But I do remember him as a good person, he got along with just about everyone (except, perhaps, the vice principal) and he was pretty cool, mature for his age. My biggest disappointment is that he once invited me to come and see his band, Sweet Children. I didn't go. I don't remember why. Now, with Green Day's success, I'd kill to have seen that band. Anyway the first time I saw Green Day is when they played an arena in Seattle in 1995. Someone threw a shoe at Billie Joe and he got pissed off and cut the set short. I liked the Nimrod tour a lot more. My wife and I saw Green Day play a small club on Dec. 2, 1997 and the show kicked ass. Green Day just wasn't made to play arena shows. Anyway, I'm a big fan. I wear my Green Day shirt to school every now and again. And I've got a Green Day poster up on the wall. It's cool to tell my students that Billie Joe was once one of my students. A few of them don't believe me, oh well. Hey, Billie Joe. I bet none of your other teachers have asked for a back stage pass. Next time you come to Seattle, what do you say? I'd like to party with a rock star and a former student!" — John Goar 29 years ago (2 December 1995), Green Day played the Auditorium in West Palm Beach, FL on the Insomniac Tour. 30 years ago (2 December 1994), Green Day played the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY on the Dookie Tour. 22. This is actually the only theory I've read about the tapes having disappeared (in one way or another) that I'm willing to believe. I can kind of see that happening, and would explain why they have never released a studio version of C&V even if there is a live version out there. If this is what happened, then I can also imagine that the "stolen tapes" story was probably also made up to hype the fans about it, so they would really want to listen to it, thus creating a market for those tapes that the label wouldn't "push" and that now they have no way of releasing and profiting from. Being indeed a very punky move. If that's what they did, I see you guys, and you are little punk geniuses. I've said it before and I'll say it again, that American Idiot alt version is the missing link between Warning and American Idiot (the albums, not the songs).
