  3. Hillside Dance was a joke fake album name on this forum that people made fake album covers for on MS paint and stuff 16 years ago. If the person was a GD fan they honestly might have been trolling you. Amazing if true and the name actually came from something real all that time ago lol. But people aren't being "judgemental" they're just reacting based on the info we already know about that name.

  4. On this day 24 years ago (2 December 2000), Green Day played in Florence, Italy on the Warning Tour. 27 years ago (2 December 1997), Green Day played DV8 in Seattle, WA on the Nimrod Tour. "I used to teach at John Swett High in Crockett, California. And I had this kid in class who became a rock star. I remember Billie Joe well. He used to sit in my math class on the third floor of the ancient, run down brick building in the back of the room right next to the window. He had a perfect view of 'Tight Wad Hill.' I don't remember if he was a good student ... if he did his homework or got good grades. But I do remember him as a good person, he got along with just about everyone (except, perhaps, the vice principal) and he was pretty cool, mature for his age. My biggest disappointment is that he once invited me to come and see his band, Sweet Children. I didn't go. I don't remember why. Now, with Green Day's success, I'd kill to have seen that band. Anyway the first time I saw Green Day is when they played an arena in Seattle in 1995. Someone threw a shoe at Billie Joe and he got pissed off and cut the set short. I liked the Nimrod tour a lot more. My wife and I saw Green Day play a small club on Dec. 2, 1997 and the show kicked ass. Green Day just wasn't made to play arena shows. Anyway, I'm a big fan. I wear my Green Day shirt to school every now and again. And I've got a Green Day poster up on the wall. It's cool to tell my students that Billie Joe was once one of my students. A few of them don't believe me, oh well. Hey, Billie Joe. I bet none of your other teachers have asked for a back stage pass. Next time you come to Seattle, what do you say? I'd like to party with a rock star and a former student!" — John Goar 29 years ago (2 December 1995), Green Day played the Auditorium in West Palm Beach, FL on the Insomniac Tour. 30 years ago (2 December 1994), Green Day played the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY on the Dookie Tour. 5. Had a dream that I had like 4 GD-themed teddy bears that my cousin kept trying to rip up so I made him sign a homemade contract saying if my bears got damaged I could legally smack the shit out of him. Then a GDCer used my contract template to win a bunch of carnival games using lateral thinking lol

  6. Billie wrote it after Obama won the election. It didn’t fit the overall theme of 21cb as it was bright sunny and poppy and not dark. The band sat on lots of songs around this time, I think in 2008 they were working with about 45 songs. As we know, some rolled into the trilogy and others are in the vault. I could see them do a second Shenanigans style comp. The tour was wildly successful and there’s been a strong fan reaction to the anniversary releases and demos. There isn’t a better time to release this.

  7. While I don’t think OP is trolling, I do think someone at the show they went to who they overheard it from could’ve been trolling. Either that or it’s a compilation album. I just don’t see them releasing and promoting a new album next year after just releasing Saviors and having a pretty stacked schedule the first half of 2025. They’re not a band that pushes out new music that quickly and also, I think they’re really genuinely enjoying this period of their career and celebrating Saviors/Dookie/AI.

  9. Many things are considered "fake" until they become reality. There is substance to this title as there is even an unreleased song recorded with that title potentially the opener of the album. The fact that this was considered 16 years ago, didn't make it to an album doesn't make it a troll. The discussion was a serious one and I can distinguish between a joke / troll and a serious conversation with multiple people. I don't want to get anyone into trouble so just enjoy this piece of info.

  10. Oh, weird. I haven't read everything in the booklet yet. Maybe they weren't happy with it and decided it was best to just remix the original for that movie soundtrack (The Jerky Boys Movie). That's the only scenario that makes sense to me, anyway.

  13. Here's what *previously released* material we could end up with if this is real: - AI Era: B-Sides (so that folks that can't get/don't want the box set or don't want to chase down the singles can have them) + I Fought The Law - 21CBD Era: B-sides & covers possibly including Working Class Hero & The Simpsons Theme - Trilogy Era: The four "Otis" remixes - RevRad Era: Xmas Time of the Year - FOAMF to Present: Here Comes The Shock, Holy Toledo, Dreaming, Pollyanna, Fever - Maybe the two tracks they did with Iggy Pop? Easily more than enough for one album. Plus there's a plethora of unreleased/unofficially released material should they choose to release any. There are still more Dookie demos (studio and 4-track), Nimrod session outtakes, Warning session outtakes, Ramones "I Want You Around" cover, the C&V material that remains/"John Roecker disc" tracks, Wonderful, 21CBD version of Drama Queen, early version of the 21CBD title track that leaked, more Trilogy demos, Trilogy outtakes, Damn Juvenile Delinquents, and who knows what else lurks in the vaults that we are unaware of. Just what we know of could fill up a box set.

  14. I feel this is the only place where I would brag about that number, as opposed to being absolutely self-conscious and mortified by it 😅 Even here, I think I would wait for others to tell theirs, and if I am in the same order of magnitude - or below - then I might come forward with mine 😂

  15. This 100%. It used to be one of my bottom 3 songs on the album, but now I’m resonating a whole lot with the song, making it one of my favorites. Addiction is terrible and it’s ruined some aspects of my life already. I mentioned this a bit earlier in the thread, but I never realized the very beginning of the piano intro to Viva La Gloria? (Little girl) is Restless Heart Syndrome’s melody before the instrumental break. On a side not, I watched Riding in Vans with Boys with Kut You Up and man were those guys drunken goof balls. Lucky as hell to go on tour with blink and Green Day. It’s all about who you know sometimes. I gotta say though, it looks like they had more fun on that tour than I have in my entire life lol.

  17. That was Pollyanna. I know there’s no proof and I know not everyone agrees but come on. That describes the song we got. I dunno.

  18. Well, I remember from 21stCB era, Butch Vig said the band made a song called "Wonderful", I think. It sounded kinda "Beach Boys".

  19. Lights out, hearts collide, a quick one while he's away, that's alright momma, another state of mind, like a rolling stone, last of american girls radio mix. Also 21st cb, 21 gums, and american girls studio 880 session. You could count the original foxboro hot tubs ep with movie clips and also has highway 1 that's not on the album. This bsides album isn't happening. They just put out all the american idiot bsides so there'd really be nothing

  20. Another concept album name back in 2008 was „Coffee and Repent“, right? This brings back so many great memories from hearing the 21CB demo for the first time and watching all those little leak videos featuring Butch Vig.

  22. The Homecoming demo made me want to listen to Green Day’s cover of A Quick One While He’s Away, so I ended up watching a couple of videos of them playing it live and watched The Who play it live on rock and roll circus. After the “Dang, dang, dang…” part, I realize they sing “cello, cello, cello…” and I read that it’s because they wanted to have a cello in this part of the song but the studio couldn’t afford it. That makes me like it so much more! It probably adds more to the song than a cello would’ve. I can also see how Keith moon was a big influence on Tre. I’ve never really watched the who play live before.
