  1. 🚨 ATTENTION! 🚨 The insignificance of Green Day cannot be overstated. Before we allow the author to continue po̴̢̩̗̲̬̹̯̿͆͜sting about this pathetic band, the representative̸̛̤̠̺͛̈́͋̋̏͘s of The Network must make clear what is truly important. 21 years ago in the timeframes that earthlings understand (22 November 2003), the greatest band in this universe and all alternate ones visited your planet. They actually played the Key Club in West Hollywood for a crowd of mere mortals. Such benevolent men! The seminal film “Disease Is Punishment” was recorded on this fateful night. Facts about The Network: 🚨 They are not Green Day. 🚨 They were brought together by an ancient prophecy. 🚨 The members include Mongo Fink, Van Gough, The Snoo, Z, Captain Underpants and Balducci. 🚨 Those who do not evolve will find themselves disconnected from The Network. 🚨 Some say they are Swiss, but it is more likely that they just use Swiss passports when they visit Earth, as they probably hail from planets we are yet to discover or even the vacuum of space itself. 🚨 They are experienced travellers of space and time. 🚨 They founded the Church of Lushotology. 🚨 Van Gough does not remember who he is after finding himself in an alternate universe. His ordeal was emotionally recounted in the hit song Amnesia Vagabond. 🚨 They are not Green Day. 🚨 While The Network were on one of their many intergalactic tours, a squatter moved into The Snoo’s flat. They left McDonald’s wrappers in the trash and… something worse in the sink. 🚨 Mind control is another one of their talents and was used to write this post. 🚨 Spike is still waiting for his mother to give him $200. Due to the duration of his wait, he now needs $2,000. 🚨 Billy Jo of the inferior band Green Day has said, “All I gotta say is fuck The Network. These guys are totally spreading rumors." 🚨 The mortal we are currently mind controlling wrote a Pokémon fanfiction featuring some masked musicians named Van Der Gouge, Bongo Blink, The Poo, X and Lieutenant Diaper. Naturally, these geniuses exposed the story’s criminal syndicate. The Network are supreme, even when found in garbage! 🚨 Hey Elon! You are too late. The Network have already visited Mars. 🚨 They have also proved it’s flat, like Mercury and Earth. 🚨 Billy Jo has continued to harass these innocent time travellers, even saying “fuck Switzerland” after playing a few lines of the incomparable Money Money 2020 at a New Year’s Eve party in 2019. 🚨 They are not Green Day. Disinfect, sả̶̲̙̃̀̒̈́̔̈̓̌͊́͂̎̕t̶̬̖̠̳̫̜̮̺̎͑̔̽̉̃͌̓͊͊̅͊̌̕ellite, disconnect, good night! ...Looks like those Swiss bastards got me again, but anyway. On this day 8 years ago (22 November 2016), Green Day played Bang Bang and Still Breathing on the Late Late Show with James Corden. More photos: 15 years ago (22 November 2009), Green Day played 21 Guns at the American Music Awards in LA. They won the Favorite Alternative Rock Artist award. More photos: 20 years ago (22 November 2004), Green Day played 8 songs on Jimmy Kimmel Live in Hollywood. More photos: 27 years ago (22 November 1997), Green Day played the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland, OH on the Nimrod Tour. 29 years ago (22 November 1995), Green Day played the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, IL on the Insomniac Tour. 32 years ago (22 November 1992), Green Day played the City Gardens in Trenton, NJ. 33 years ago (22 November 1991), Green Day played in Heerbrugg, Switzerland. Maybe that was when The Network first heard of them.

  2. If they play something from Insomniac (other than Brain stew/Jaded) and Kerplunk it would be amazing. 🥺

Especially now those suffering in Ukraine and Middle East. Please, please may peace come soon.

  5. You're all very organized! 😅 I still have no idea how many days I will be staying, let alone where I will be staying. But I also want to spend a couple extra days there, as I have never been either. But I guess I'll have to start looking into this next week, before everything reasonably priced gets booked.

  6. Wondering if someone mistook the cover for American Idiot It was Seoul to Paris. I swear I'm a curse on those flights back from Asia because they always take 17 hours when I'm onboard. It is worth it to visit Asia though.

  7. I wouldn't have thought that they could sell out two shows in Vienna. Really cool!

  8. At the O2 in February 2017 I was up in the nosebleeds about as high as I could be. There was a kid one side of me and an elderly gentleman with his daughter the other. The kid started chanting "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA" and I joined in. The gentleman and his daughter clearly didn't like it and scurried off to find a different seat! Another guy then joined in and we had the row left to the three of us dancing all night (although I did have to sit for the encore because my arthritis was playing up 😂)

  9. If I ran into Billie Joe today and had time to ask him a single question, that question would be: how did you come to the decision not to include Black Eyeliner in Nimrod? It might be on my top 5 Green Day songs. I just don't get it how it didn't make it to the album. Don't get me wrong, I love Church on Sunday so I'm glad things happened the way they did so that we could get both songs... but just why? 😂 (I'll be back with more random thoughts about this song in a page or two, I don't think I'll get over it anytime soon).

  12. You certainly will. It‘s nice to just stroll through the streets and marvel at the magnificent architecture. But be prepared for lots of tourists!

  15. On this day 8 years ago (21 November 2016), Green Day played on Jimmy Kimmel Live. More photos: 20 years ago (21 November 2004), Green Day played the Cox Arena in San Diego, CA on the American Idiot Tour. "It was the best show I have ever been to. A great memory of my favorite band. It was amusing when Billie Joe stuck his hand down his pants making it look like he was jacking off and then sniffed his hand. It was hilarious! During Knowledge he called people up to play that song. When he asked for a guitar player to come up, he asked the guy if got laid, then Billie asked if he got his cock sucked before, so he called him on stage ans said well you're about to right now. Then he kissed him, gave him his guitar, and made him say the magic word (not please), SAN DIEGO! They made all the songs longer and Billie made a funny ass laugh in the middle of Hitchin' A Ride. And he did the crown thing with King For A Day and the crowd thing with Brain Stew. He introduced himself as Jimmy before St. Jimmy. And he called a kid on stage to squirt people with a supersoaker." — fan experience 29 years ago (21 November 1995), Green Day played the MECCA Arena in Milwaukee, WI on the Insomniac Tour. "Billie Joe Armstrong pulled a Jim Morrison and exposed himself to 6,000 fans at the Mecca Auditorium, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. That was, of course, Armstrong's clever way of letting Green Day fans who understand Green Day-ese know that the Mecca was a mediocre show. Armstrong told ATN during an interview on Halloween that he only drops trou at so-so shows. Unfortunately, this time mooning the crowd, if you'll excuse the expression, backfired. After Green Day finished their hour long set, police officers took Armstrong to the Milwaukee police station, where he was cited for indecent exposure. After he paid the bail of $141.85, he was released. But why don't we let Lt. Thomas Christopher of the Milwaukee PD explain what happened, as only law enforcement can: 'Mr. Armstrong dropped his pants to his knees and exposed his buttocks to the crowd. After the concert, Mr. Armstrong was taken into custody, given a city citation for indecent exposure. He posted a bail and was released.' Thomas said this was not an actual arrest, and Armstrong is only required to go to court if he intends to contest the charge. Otherwise, he'll commit a 'civil forfeiture' and the city will take a 'default judgment.' Which means if Billie Joe doesn't come back to Milwaukee to fight for his right to drop trou, the city gets to keep the chump change. Officers went out of their way not to disrupt the concert, in order to avoid a potential riot. Instead they waited until the last notes were played and apprehended Armstrong on the way to his limo. 'The problem was he exposed himself to a crowd of about 6,000 people,' said Lt. Christopher. 'Including people as young as ten. That was our main reason for taking the action.'" 33 years ago (21 November 1991), Green Day played Hirscheneck in Basel, Switzerland. It was their first Swiss show. Feels like yesterday and a long time ago at the same time! Don't even talk to me about how long ago 2013 was... @Rumpelstiltskin2000 you ought to share the story of the people chanting that at your show!

  16. Was reading the line up for the dates Green Day is headlining and I found a couple of surprises: Gustavo Dudamel (he's a very famous Venezuelan orchestra director) directing the LA Philharmonic? I love classic music, so I'd take it but, quite eclectic 😂 And Rawayana? They're a Venezuelan band, and I had no idea they were known enough to make it Coachella, as far as I was aware, only Venezuelan people were aware of their existence so I was very shocked to see them in the mix. Also, Jimmy Eat World I almost want to go.

  24. @solongfromthestars and @Rumpelstiltskin2000 I didn't know you two had been to the show in Costa Rica! I loved so much reading both your recounts of the show, and the lengths you went to to get there... and you bought the ticket the morning of? I would have died from stress thinking "I flew all this way and spent all this money and I bet you the tickets will be sold out by the time I get there" 😅 That show was legendary, I still feel like we should all talk about it in a hushed, reverential tone, so I'm really happy you both got to experience it!

  25. After the summer tour in 2010 we were just desperate to see another show. Our countdown to the show So to go to Costa Rica we sold everything we could find: my old business suits, handbags, old jewellery, literally anything we could find that might have sold. Most of it went for nothing but it all added up. There were so many parcels that they almost wouldn’t fit into the car. If there’d been one more it wouldn’t have fit. It took the lady at the Post Office an hour to get them all ready to post. The receipt was so long it was comical. Some of the parcels Then we went and booked the flights and bought anything else we needed for the trip. People on GDC in Costa Rica had told us how to get the tickets and that there were still some left. You had to buy them at the Masxmenos supermarket so on the morning of the show we went and got them there on the way to the stadium as soon as the supermarket opened. We got to the stadium about 9. Us waiting in line We were interviewed on TV while in the queue but sadly we never got to see it. It was all kind of surreal. Me with the flag and a Costa Rica fan Left to right J'net, Green Day Tone, Decca, Morgan, Maria, a GDCer from Honduras and Alejandro from Costa Rica A show wristband bought from a street vendor Show t-shirt When Green Day came on stage, that was the closest I’d ever been (about third row from the catwalk) and I remember Tre running out on the catwalk in his jacket with his sticks in his hands. I could hear all these piercing screams and they weren’t screaming at Green Day - they were screaming in fear! Everyone’s feet were off the floor and we all couldn’t breathe. The next thing I knew, I opened my eyes and saw the guy on crutches on stage in East Jesus Nowhere. I was unconscious but stood up being carried by the crowd. I opened my eyes again and saw the flashing light in Holiday. Then I came to after Holiday and Tre was filming the crowd, and the band went into Viva la Gloria. I had an umbrella that I was going mad waving. Two sets of drumsticks landed by me but I wouldn’t have dared to attempt to get them. Tre forgot to finish playing Only of You. He came out, threw the drumsticks, then forgot to end the song and Billie looked at him confused! I remember Waiting and everyone going “heeeeeeeey-oooooooh.” I remember looking at my watch at the end and seeing it had been 4 hours 15 minutes and thinking “Jesus wept.” Bruise on my side (doesn't seem to look as bad now!)
