  2. It was my birthday yesterday and I am not big on birthdays, but I must say this year I feel Green Day has unknowingly (and even unwillingly perhaps 😅) given me so many gifts: the AI demos leaked on Tuesday (hence the unwilling part), PHGP releasing a new album the day before my birthday, the AI anniversary box set next week even though the real anniversary is in September.

  3. The album is awesome! I was working alone for 10.5 hours today and had it on repeat the whole time . I just love Aaron's writing so much and Billie and Jason's vocals sounding great, and still a classic PHGP vibe after all this time. Haven't listened to PHGP in a while but this reminded me how much I love them and definitely going to be listening to this plus rest of the discographt a ton. Could be my favourite album/collection of songs of theirs. Also Billie's work ethic/creative output is incredible, he never stops! Which song is it where he sings like really low? I swear it's the lowest his voice has ever sounded lol, maybe he was just reaching for the notes a bit. I wonder if the CD has a lyric booklet, does anyone know? If it does I wanna get it. I just remembered when my brother and I ordered their old CD's from Adeline Records 18/19 years ago they came with a hand written thank you note from someone at the company with free badges attached, that was so cool. The artwork in the old booklets is all very cool so hopefully there is one.

  7. This album keeps getting better I’ve played it four times today I love these songs. Ngl in the past I’ve always had favorite PG songs but never an entire release, there’d be like a handful each record that I really liked. This one is nearly perfect with the exception of one or two for me.

  8. Listened to Revolution Radio after a long time again. Great album. Didn't appreciate it enough back in 2016. The beginning with Somewhere Now, Bang Bang and Revolution Radio was an amazing comeback after the hiatus!

  9. Not necessarily for this band. Billie and Jason sing everything but most lyrics are written by Aaron and they may collaborate on the music.

  10. Searching Sam Jones (he's a real documentarian and director) and Netflix, Green Day and the alleged title and nothing comes up. Interesting that I think he's the same guy that took this photo: https://shop.samjonespictures.com/collections/all/products/green-day-print

  11. Brilliant thanks I'm gonna get it! Oh yeah that's it, between that and the high notes on Goodnight Adeline he's been really pushing his vocal range this year.

  12. Happy belated birthday 🎉 Green Day actually played shows that I was lucky enough to be able to attend on my birthday in 2013 and 2017 which was awesome

  13. Yes, there is a leaflet at least with the CD, got the lyrics to most of the songs but not Green, Chowchilla or Song For Myself. He sings really low on Song for Myself and I love it! Also has a very sweet typical BJ selfie on the inside of the front cover.

On this day last year (19 October 2023), Green Day played the Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas, NV. 📷: rosequeenphoto More photos: 8 years ago (19 October 2016), Green Day played the KROQ Red Bull Sound Space. They were also interviewed. It used to be considered one of Green Day's most iconic performances. Don't know if it still is. There are loads of videos on YouTube if you want to watch it. More photos: 30 years ago (19 October 1994), Green Day played the Boardwalk in Manchester, England on the Dookie Tour. 31 years ago (19 October 1993), Green Day played the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, CA while supporting Bad Religion. "I even thoroughly enjoyed Green Day who’ve added Tre Cool of the Lookouts on drums while Al is up at school in Humboldt studying god knows what." — Flipside #69

  16. This short Jesus of Suburbia demo is really interesting. I never even thought about that JoS could be something different than a multi-part song which is part of a rock opera. But maybe even more songs of AI were already part of C&V and reworked afterwards and in the end it wasn't such a big rework that I was assuming 🤔

  17. Hey party people (at least I hope that's what those young folks today say), So I've been a fan for a while and have been collecting some stuff over the years and besides doing scans of artwork I also like to scan magazines and books. Especially this year I focused on a lot of Japanese mags I wanted to share since not too many people outside of Japan have seen these or people from outside of Germany have seen the German mags I also have. Since I always wanted to have the American Idiot tour book they did (actually "just" tour rehearsal photos and dates) and since it's AI's anniversary, I wanted to share HQ scans of those as well. Since I'm a perfectionist I edited the pictures to be as close as possible to the original mag or how it "should" look digitized, these took a lot of time and I wanted to share as much as possible at once with you. There's still stuff to scan and/or edit. Here's a short list of what's coming next: Warning Tour Book, Crossbeat 2001/12, Guitar Breakers 2004/10, Crossbeat 1995/11, Crossbeat 2000/08, Visions 2009/05, (maybe) Billboard 2009/05, etc. Well, here's the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Hk68uJ_YwpQBby3nlLWhRAWU6_8vdAkE?usp=sharing Enjoy!

  18. On a huge Offspring kick right now and I was looking into watching the horror film they are named after. Haven't tracked it down yet because it's tag line caught my attention. "They were born to kill" - reminds me of Baby Eyes by Green Day and I wonder if Billie was referencing that or it was a coincidence. Baby baby eyes. Baby baby I was born to.............................................................. kill.

  19. Does it mention who wrote each song or are they all just credited to Pinhead Gunpowder?

  20. This is a good fun listen. Nothing groundbreaking, not my favorite Pinhead Gunpowder release, but has some great additions to their catalog. Lacks a bit of the punch and "snarl" that I associate with the band. 7/10.

  21. Happy birthday! And, yes, I feel like Green Day are totally spoiling us this year ( as are some other bands).

  22. How legit is this? A Netflix documentary supposedly coming in March next year. https://www.sharebaze.com/2024/10/19/netflix-to-release-documentary-on-legendary-music-band-green-day-in-march-2025/

  23. Thanks! And that must have been pretty special! And on two different years too! When they announced the South American tour in 2010 I remember thinking like "damn it, a few days later and the show in Caracas could have been on my birthday", but instead it was on my mom's birthday

  24. I think the connection to Green Day is through her husband Lee Kirk who wrote and directed the movie "Ordinary World". Here's a picture of her with Green Day back in 2020 https://www.instagram.com/p/B79YKlRHiiS/?igsh=MTM5NzlxbWhwdXdo

  25. Regarding Panic Song (which is high on my live wish list), I remember earlier this year Mike shared an Instagram story from someone who counted all the bass chord changes (or something along those lines) in the intro of Panic Song, and that person said something like "no wonder they never play this live" and in the next story Mike said they actually have played it live but only at a couple of small shows, but that it was very physically taxing on him and Trè. This story might be recorded somewhere in the Green Day Instagram thread. I guess this is why we might never get this song life. EDIT: found the story here But I'm with you on this though, my dream Green Day tour (now that I've heard AI in its entirety live) would be one where they play a couple songs from each album, but only non-single ones. I imagine casual listeners being confused at the end of the show, "you sure these are the guys who do Boulevard of Broken Dreams?" 😂 Will never happen, but hey dreaming is for free.

  26. Yes. Normally the musical appearances to his show get uploaded on the show's YouTube page. One song only though... not sure if more are played live or featured on the TV show.

  28. Audiophile babble: Listened to these on my high end Fiio DAP with the 6 driver IEMs. They’re just incredible. The soundstage on them is so wide and opened. It has these little nuisances you won’t find on the final mastered releases. They are a gem 💎🥰

  36. Definitely not just you. I stopped using them for a while because they wanted to charge me $75 to mail 3 x 7" vinyls. The invoice tonight didn't even add up correctly. It was like $10 more than it should have been! The prices were there in black and white but the total was too high!
