I was there The press conference was in the Hard Rock Cafe in Caracas, which is located inside a shopping mall, in the highest floor. If I remember things correctly (I might not), they held the conference in the terrace of the Cafe, which was mostly full with journalists and possibly people who had been waiting there all day or employees, so I couldn't get in there. But I was in the area just next to the terrace. There are 2 things I distinctly remember about this conference. First, when they walked pass me on the way in or out, there was just maybe one security guy between them and me, and we were standing on the same level (meaning neither them nor I were in a platform or something) and this was the first time I became fully aware of how short Billie is (barely taller than me) 😂 The other thing I remember is being embarrassed about the questions they got asked (I don't remember if I heard the interview live or a recording of it later), because it was like all these journalists had just found out about Green Day that morning, and the level of fan girling from people in the crowd who would not stop screaming "we love you" or "welcome to Venezuela" or stuff like that or just like "Billiiiieee" 😂 I had pretty high standards for journalists and for how fans should behave back then, I would definitely be more tolerant of these things now that I am older and wiser 😂 (I still think the journalists could have prepared better questions, but they were probably were paid peanuts to interview a band they didn't care about, so I get it) EDIT: Hehe, found a video of part of the press conference in YouTube (starts at about minute 1:15 - the first minute and 15 second being a display of the level of fangirling I was talking about - until Tre tells them to shut up ). EDIT 2: This one has some other questions as well as Billie asking local punk bands to send them their tapes, or bring them to the show next day or bring them stickers for his guitars It also has some shots of the crowd and it's nuts, not sure how they managed to get them out of there safely. And as I was watching the crowd I was "there is no way I was there! I would have completely panicked in a crowd like that!" and then I spotted myself in there for the briefest of seconds and remembered this was 2010, about 7 years before the event that gave me PTSD, so of course I was there and I wasn't in panic 😅🙃3 points

Raj who once upon a time played with Billie and Mike invited me to follow some band on facebook. U.S or something? I don't even care if it's really him or not. I'm basically IN Green Day now.3 points

On this day 8 years ago (7 October 2016), Green Day played Rough Trade in NYC. Somewhere Now was played for the first time. Revolution Radio was released 8 years ago today. I like the cover art, but I still think they should have used the alternative art. The Youngblood lyric video was also released 8 years ago today. 14 years ago (7 October 2010), Green Day did a press conference in Caracas, Venezuela. More photos: 15 years ago (7 October 2009), the 21 Guns music video was released. I think this 21 Guns ad on MSN was from around the same time the video was released. If you've ever wondered what the teen years of a 90s child looked like, this is it. Green Day also played O2 World in Berlin, Germany on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour on 7 October 2009. Interesting that Give Me Novacaine was played in the encore rather than early in the show like it was later. More photos: 30 years ago (7 October 1994), Green Day played in Lund, Sweden while supporting Bad Religion on the Dookie Tour. 31 years ago (7 October 1994), Green Day played the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland, OH while supporting Bad Religion.3 points

The festival has started on a playlist and it includes Shoplifter and the demo for Jesus of suburbia. Like they're going to play Shoplifter... They were probably like, this is the newest on Spotify, let's add that. 😅2 points

Dang, I saw a post that said Green Day were making a record with Ozzy Osbourne in 2025 but it was fake. That would be a really awesome idea since Ozzy was a huge influence on Billie and Mike. We should start a petition or something and make it a reality, haha. Blending their sounds and abilities could really spark a wild change in Green Day, get even MORE cylinders firing as Mike would say. If this doesn't work out, Billie could join Black Sabbath.1 point

Did anyone record this? I totally forgot this was happening tonight 😔1 point

Gosh I’ve seen them too. And the «tons of pop» comments. Hope they DO stay home that day. Just imagine being surrounded by these spreaders of joy at the show 🤪1 point

With Election Season upon us in the US, I’ve been digging Revolution Radio a lot. It’s a bit better than my recollection had colored it. I still don’t think it hangs together as an album as well as some other Green Day records but it’s chock full of great songs. I think I’m still impressed by how good Forever Now is. That feeling of an Autumn full of trepidation where the outcome of an election could plunge us into the unknown really adds to the atmosphere of RevRad. Perhaps it’s an unusually timely album?1 point

I liked hearing this as a shorter song but these demos overall are not that interesting. Got to give fans more to pay $100 for something like this.1 point

DAWs, editing and quantizing was industry standard in 2004. These dudes aren't laying takes down onto DAT or reel-to-reel. That doesn't mean to say I'm right of course. But still, my point is it sounds very similar. Definitely from the same sessions and not different enough to be very interesting at all IMO. I hope to be proved wrong, but at the moment this edition is sounding like an absolute rinse for the absurd prices some people have paid.1 point

They dropped "3 new songs" from the deluxe. Which? Was one Shoplifter which has been out for 20 years? 😆 Like the other demos from this release, absolutely whelmed by the JoS one. Sonically it sounds very similar again. Pretty sure it's the same drum take that made it into the final version and they've done pickups for the ending section. Same for the majority of the guitars. The only interesting thing about it was the chord not going to an F after the second drum fill which was a curve ball after 20 years of listening to it. They're hardly "demos" in the way that we got with Demolicious. These are just unfinished versions of the final releases.1 point

Same. 🤷🏼♀️😅 I just noticed that the day Green Day plays is the same as the summer party at my boss' house. This year, it was on the day I travelled to see Green Day too. Green Day is saving me from having to hang out with my co workers. 🙌1 point
