They dropped "3 new songs" from the deluxe. Which? Was one Shoplifter which has been out for 20 years? đ Like the other demos from this release, absolutely whelmed by the JoS one. Sonically it sounds very similar again. Pretty sure it's the same drum take that made it into the final version and they've done pickups for the ending section. Same for the majority of the guitars. The only interesting thing about it was the chord not going to an F after the second drum fill which was a curve ball after 20 years of listening to it. They're hardly "demos" in the way that we got with Demolicious. These are just unfinished versions of the final releases.4 points

Honestly my favourite demo so far since it is an actually different depiction of Jesus of Suburbia. Sort of like what it'd be if it was on C&V, as in a short and sweet song in a rougher mix. I also might be overthinking but the ending to it sounds like the exact same to the starting riff of the actual song, but maybe Billie just plays that tight that they're not actually the same.4 points

On this day 15 years ago (4 October 2009), Green Day played the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris, France on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. More photos: 19 years ago (4 October 2005), Green Day played the Journal Pavilion in Albuquerque, NM on the American Idiot Tour. More photos: 24 years ago (4 October 2000), Green Day played the Roseland Ballroom in NYC on the Warning Tour. 30 years ago (4 October 1994), Green Day played Die Halle in Berlin, Germany while supporting Bad Religion on the Dookie Tour. 32 years ago (4 October 1992), Green Day played the Nappy Dugout in Vancouver, Canada on the Kerplunk Tour. "I remember a line of lowrider bikes in front of the club. Always great times there. Treâs clown camp teacher let us stay at her house. She had an amazing dog that could do dog tricks. Very sweet." â Billie Joe Armstrong3 points

With Election Season upon us in the US, Iâve been digging Revolution Radio a lot. Itâs a bit better than my recollection had colored it. I still donât think it hangs together as an album as well as some other Green Day records but itâs chock full of great songs. I think Iâm still impressed by how good Forever Now is. That feeling of an Autumn full of trepidation where the outcome of an election could plunge us into the unknown really adds to the atmosphere of RevRad. Perhaps itâs an unusually timely album?2 points

It's not even the same drum rhythm/beat. TrĂ© plays it different to the final song. It's clearly not musiscians coming up with comments like this... That's for sure đȘ2 points

DAWs, editing and quantizing was industry standard in 2004. These dudes aren't laying takes down onto DAT or reel-to-reel. That doesn't mean to say I'm right of course. But still, my point is it sounds very similar. Definitely from the same sessions and not different enough to be very interesting at all IMO. I hope to be proved wrong, but at the moment this edition is sounding like an absolute rinse for the absurd prices some people have paid.2 points

These demos are so much similar to the final versions2 points

I'm so happy that JoS turned into a 10min song.2 points

Thanks for sharing this @pacejunkie punk really interesting chat much more than interview. As ever, could have done with hearing more from Billie, Aaron is interesting but does have a lot to say! Forgot to say, I hadnât heard before that Alan (I assume) took custody of Billie for him to attend PVH and Billieâs reaction to the comment about Tim Yohannon was very polite!2 points

I feel the same way. Itâs not hard for me to get emo over my history with Green Day, but this tour made me especially nostalgic and appreciate why theyâre so special to me and how long theyâve been in my life. It was such a fun, good vibes tour and I feel so lucky that I got to attend. Of course I also love more intimate shows, but there was something really incredible about seeing tens of thousands of people moving and singing in unison on Billieâs command. Billie and the entire band are so fucking good at their jobs and Iâm so proud to be a fan.2 points

I bet theyâre using the final demos than the beginning formation demos1 point
-
I suspect all the demos are going to sound this polished and similar1 point
-
No way are they unfinished versions, so many of the takes on all of these demos are sloppy as hell. Iâm only familiar with the production world post 2010ish, but Iâd imagine in 2004, theyâd probably redo a take than fix timing of multiple tracks1 point

It was good but I was a little disappointed that they really didnât talk about the new album at all, it was mostly stories about all their old bands and the Gilman scene. Interesting but they donât actually talk about Pinhead much1 point

There's a thread on r/music on this with over 3000 comments. Great majority of which fall into one of three categories- 1. Also shitting on Vegas. 2. Pointing out he's from Oakland so duh. 3. Talking about how great the tour was. Nice change from the far right insults.1 point

I wanna echo a GD Reddit user who disagreed with Billie about Vegas:âVegas has the single greatest attraction Iâve ever laid my eyes on: the airport which allows you to leave that cityâ1 point
-
And to add insult to injury, the baseball stadium in Las Vegas isnât even built yet and is not going to be ready for three more years! But instead of keeping the team in Oakland until that time, theyâre moving them anyway to a minor league ballpark in Sacramento in the meantime with artificial turf, risking injury and extreme heat issues for the players.1 point

Why Are the Athletics Leaving Oakland? https://fhspost.com/9524/sports/why-are-the-athletics-leaving-oakland/ this article from 2023 explains some of the negotiations and how the the A's just dropped the ball and said adios Oakland for Las Vegas! After five years, Aâs rejected a $12B waterfront ballpark site in Oakland for 9 acres on the Strip https://thenevadaindependent.com/article/after-five-years-as-rejected-a-12b-waterfront-ballpark-site-in-oakland-for-9-acres-on-the-strip I am from the Bay Area and have the same feeling Bille Joe does. the owner of the A's does not give a F...k. He doesn't care and nver cared to make the team profitable and fun. Hell his familly owns the GAP stores and are billionaires. There is money to be spent on players. They get 67 million from TV rights each year. I'm a life long Raider fan, so when they left again, after leaving for Los Angeles and then back to Oakland, I was like yeah that's Mark Davis for you. Just like John Fisher. Neither cares about the fans.1 point

I was at the SF show and after his little rant a girl next to me said something like, "Hey, I love vegas!" So yeah people get offended by his comments easily apparently1 point

This is the part where Billie was complaining about them taking the Raiders from him at the 2021 Vegas showđ I totally get why he might want to complain after losing two local teams to the same place in such a short time1 point
