  1. Excited to be here. Glad to have waited and get tickets today, priced great $75 each I got 2 tickets front row second level. I met the girl to get printed tickets from her. So made my way to SF an hour ago. Got in and seated, great front row seats! She said she sold them cheap because she just wanted somebody to enjoy the concert tonight since she could not go.

  2. On this day 12 years ago (21 September 2012), Green Day played the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, NV. I’m not going to post any photos of the meltdown, but I’ll post Tre trying to stop the cameraman filming Billie. 19 years ago (21 September 2005), Green Day played in Salt Lake City, UT on the American Idiot Tour. "The always entertaining and mucho energetic Armstrong ran around all parts of the stage encouraging the crowd to chant, clap and even do the wave. He kept the shrieking level high with calls of 'Salt Lake City!' while pyrotechnics went off at different points of the night on a stage built to resemble a totalitarian political rally." — Deseret News 20 years ago (21 September 2004), Green Day played Irving Plaza in NYC on the American Idiot Tour. More photos: American Idiot was also released 20 years ago today. 24 years ago (21 September 2000), Green Day played in Barcelona, Spain on the Warning Tour. 27 years ago (21 September 1997), Green Day played in Cologne, Germany on the Nimrod Tour. 29 years ago (21 September 1995), Green Day played a second night at Brixton Academy in London, England on the Insomniac Tour. 33 years ago (21 September 1991), Green Day played at Cloyne Court in Berkeley, CA. "I saw Green Day in the basement of a co-op house with five other bands for $5 in 1991. They came from punk. Billie Joe was practically living on the streets then and you could smell him from across the room." — Christopher Federico "Sept. 21, 1991. Benefit for the Slingshot anarchist newspaper. Surely one of the greatest Cloyne shows ever. Cops broke up the show, as was too common back in the day. People climbing out the windows of the dining room (where the bands were playing) to get away. Green Day didn't get to finish their set." — Anthony Lew

  4. I’m not sure who would want to hear this, but I just checked tonight and American Idiot has been mixed and released in Dolby Atmos on Apple Music ….it sounds incredible. There’s so many little details in this version that you simply don’t hear as well or at all in any other version. Highly recommend for AI fanatics like myself

  7. Wow I hadn’t realized I heart radio happened on the 8th anniversary of American Idiot coming out. What an eventful day in Green Day’s history. There’s probably other timelines where Green Day could’ve been gone after 2012, but here we are in this wonderful timeline with this fucking awesome tour celebrating the history of the band with a great new album out as well. Amen. Also it’s pretty (Tre) cool to see Tre holding the cameraman. I’ve never seen that before.

  9. I get the sentiment, though I’d argue the record isn’t exactly “as it was meant to be heard” since it, as well as many other albums of that era (and even now), they’re all heavily compressed to the point I’d say you actually LOSE detail Of course it’s a matter of preference, but the fact is this format does allow more space to hear the full performance, given you have a great person behind the boards. In this case, it’s CLA who this forum loves already lol Either way, this version is a great listen for those who want a little more dynamic AI listen. WMUWSE in particular, rules!

  12. I can’t believe they’re going to their old Pinole 7-11 by the high school. That’s amazing, it’s gonna be a special visit

  13. You need to go to the original album, not the anniversary and not the weird “let’s throw these songs together” version but it is there!

  14. Our protagonist named Bill sets his sights on an anchor steam pint Loved aol sessions the 93 tour with Bad Religion was a huge step for them pre-Dookie. Bad Religion was considered the most successful and biggest active punk rock band at the time. Obviously less than a year later that changed.

  15. Today (20 September 2024), Green Day are playing in San Francisco, CA on the Saviors Tour. More photos, videos and setlist on GDA. On this day 5 years ago (20 September 2019), Green Day played the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, NV. More photos: 20 years ago (20 September 2004), Green Day played 9 songs on AOL Sessions in NYC. They also played American Idiot on the Late Show with David Letterman that day. More photos: 27 years ago (20 September 1997), a performance of Good Riddance was aired on XFM Radio. Green Day also played a second night at Gruenspan in Hamburg, Germany on the Nimrod Tour. Nice Guys Finish Last and Prosthetic Head were played for the first time. 29 years ago (20 September 1995), Green Day played Brixton Academy in London, England on the Insomniac Tour. 31 years ago (20 September 1993), Green Day played in New Orleans, LA while supporting Bad Religion. "So I find the place around 1pm. I sit outside watching the buses unload. I get curious and decide to check it out. [Bad Religion] invites me in to hang out. Their drummer at the time, Bobby Schayes, gave me his lunch. I got to hang out and talk with Jay Bentley, Greg Hetson (Circle Jerks fame), and Bobby for the rest of the night until the doors opened at 8pm. I hung out with all my buddies in Green Day as well." — 99percenteks

  17. That sounds great, and natural. I’m always surprised they want to give fans stuff, I would want to tell them they gave me so much already but would probably say “ smrgh…noffrd….garnf” 😂😂😂

  22. Honestly, I've been wanting to go to SF for years now, so I may just use this as an excuse to visit for a weekend!

  23. Pretty excited for this one. Had to skip out on the Hella Mega tour show cause covid. This will be the first time I see Green Day at Oracle Park. I'm hoping it's GA floor and not just seats and tiny unaffordable 1 percenter pit that will sell in seconds.... ☺️ Although I am worried about being able to grab a ticket considering this first leg only has a single bay area show... 🤔
