When you go to a club to listen to a cover band (announced as Nineties Rock) and go crazy because their first song is “She”.4 points

When it's one of your colleagues who informs you of the fact that a celebrity they follow has shared Instagram stories at a Green Day concert. And they tell you that when they first saw the stories they just assumed you had gone to another show, before realizing it was Serena Williams posting. The only way anyone could possibly mistaken me for Serena Williams. 😂3 points

On this day 12 years ago (15 September 2012), Green Day played Irving Plaza in NYC on the ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré! promo tour. Billie ran onstage to take photos of Lipstick Homicide, the support act... ...And the result To be fair, Greg would unironically post that photo on the official Green Day account. More photos of the show: 24 years ago (15 September 2000), Green Day played Tutu's in London, England for XFM 104.9, which is now known as Radio X. Audio of the show is available online. 29 years ago (15 September 1995), Green Day played in Milan, Italy on the Insomniac Tour. 32 years ago (15 September 1992), Green Day played The Chameleon in San Francisco, CA on the Kerplunk Tour. 35 years ago (15 September 1989), Green Day played the Community Link Centre in Fresno, CA.2 points

I bought it a few months ago via 1-2-3-4 Go! Records online. Not sure about the 30 pcs thing. It might only be 30 pcs a box and they got a few boxes. On Discogs it states 21 people (incl. me) have this. I'm not sure how accurate that number is in real life, but just a guesstimate that it was more than 30 records for this variant. Thanks for notifying me though1 point

Sounds robotic and fake. Oh, and way too fast speaking compared to real Billie 😅1 point

Amuses me no end how pressed Green Day make some people... still. Any rock page on social media posts about them, you get Bob Fuckin' Nobody from Bintown, OH writing "sellouts!" or "poser punks!" Yeah, sure Bob.1 point

I appreciate that when you order stuff from the 7Collection, it goes through Anaheim (to the Middle East). Inadvertently keeping the JOS theme going 😄1 point

They played Suzie Chapstick at the last show....six current era songs at a Green Day show, that is mindblowing! Hopefully with American Idiot and Dookie properly celebrated Green Day will put the nostalgia away for the next several eras and focus on new material. If the public's perception of their modern stuff continues to be positive, they'll do it - and their setlist will only benefit from it. I know that my frustration with them not covering every era live will grow, as they go into having 15+ albums, but there's a right way to more forward. Green Day won't ever stop playing the Dookie and Idiot hits. The Saviors Tour is a good model for what could come later. Play the big Dookie and Idiot songs, play some other big hits, and then play 6-7 brand new song songs. 5 Dookies, 5 Idiots, 10 big hits from across the decades, 7 new songs. A very satisfying 27 set that's not as brutal on the old young guys.1 point

Yes I do I’ve always said the best Green Day show you’ve ever been to was the last one but this shit is just special. Don’t sleep on the Pumps! So stoked. Rancid The Linda Lindas I can see why Billie likes them. Sounds like a female GD. Anyone wants to say hi, hmu. I’ll be with my new lady.1 point

Literally the same boat. I saw them at Leeds in 2013 lol 😅 And yeah it will be sold out. I felt selfish thinking that but I'm glad I'm not the only one! 😅1 point

On this day 5 years ago (12 September 2019), Green Day played Father of All on Jimmy Kimmel Live. They also did the "Jimmy Kimmel's mean tweets" thing. Theirs was "why does Tré Cool from Green Day look like an emo version of Ted Cruz?" Billie said "well, Mike looks like Putin" and he took his sunglasses off to prove it. Personally, I think that is an unacceptable thing to say. I mean, it's not true! Tré actually looks like David Cameron. Another photo: 19 years ago (12 September 2005), Green Day played in Indianapolis, IN on the American Idiot Tour. "I got four tickets from StubHub to see Green Day on September 12th of 05 in Indianapolis. They were at cost too, so I got really lucky. I took my daughter and two of her friends. The tickets were for the floor SRO. We got there early and there was only one person between all of us and the barricade in front of the stage. You just can't do much better than that. I had been to very many concerts and was going on about what to expect with the girls. Caitlin, my daughter, had been on Green Day websites and got the 'down low' of what pretty consistently goes on at a Green Day concert but she didn't tell me. Man, was I in for a rude awakening. It was so exciting to see them in person and they were so good and really put on a show. But the better they were the closer the crowd moved in and the more squashed I got. I was separated from the rest of the girls. I was finally hoping it would end just so I wouldn't die. I was totally crushed. Finally another fan in the crowd noticed me about to pass out and I was guided to the nearest security guard. I was lifted over the barricade right smack in dead center of the cat walk and handed over to the guard by angry fans because I was in their way. Billie Joe Armstrong just happened to be at the tip of the cat walk playing guitar at the time. I looked him right in the eyes as I touched the stage for balance and then I quickly looked away. I was humiliated to have been 'broken' by the young punks. I missed a lot of the show while I was in the back getting oxygen. Billie looking at me was just as exciting as it was humiliating. But I hated missing some of the best parts of the show. I did make it out while they were playing Wake Me Up When September Ends. I had to come back out at the back of the crowd on the floor and then hunt for the girls when the show was over. I was embarrassed to see them because I just knew that they saw me and would go back to school and tell all about what happened to Caitlin's mom. But after finding them and asking them if they saw they said there was too much commotion going on where they were too and they were getting kicked in the head and everything. So they didn't see. It was definitely an unforgettable night." – A fan who attended the show 29 years ago (12 September 1995), Green Day played in Wiesen, Austria on the Insomniac Tour. More photos: 31 years ago (12 September 1993), Green Day supported Bad Religion in Las Vegas, NV.1 point

Today (11 September 2024), Green Day are playing in Dallas, TX on the Saviors Tour. More photos and videos on GDA https://www.greendayauthority.com/news/6198/ On this day 2 years ago (11 September 2022), Green Day played in Buenos Aires, Argentina. More photos: 7 years ago (11 September 2017), Green Day played in Albuquerque, NM on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: When the band were soundchecking Billie spoke (through the mic, obviously, not directly) to the people queuing outside. I don't remember exactly what he said. It was something along the lines of "hello to you crazy people lining up to see us." I think he might have mentioned the tour coming to an end too. I got heat exhaustion for the first time in that queue. The amphitheatre is out in the desert and the only shade was by the portaloos, so my friend and I sat there. For the future reference of anyone reading this thread, portaloo "shade" is not shade. The sunlight coming through the plastic will just bake you alive. Catfish and the Bottlemen were supporting and before every show, a roadie fiddled with Van McCann's weighted mic stand for at least 20 minutes so the mic would lay on his face and he could push it around with his mouth. I have no idea how else to describe it. It was weird and he came across as very arrogant, so I'm not going to lie, everyone laughed when he fell over and the whole weighted mic thing came crashing down with him. Anyway, the venue security made sure I had enough water and Eddie (Green Day's security at the time) was looking out for everyone, so I stuck it out and of course it was worth it. One of the security guards who helped me gave me a setlist afterwards. 19 years ago (11 September 2005), Green Day played in Auburn Hills, MI on the American Idiot Tour. Photo by Kate Sumbler 29 years ago (11 September 1995), Green Day played in Prague, Czechia on the Insomniac Tour. More photos: 30 years ago (11 September 1994), Green Day played the End It benefit concert in Seattle, WA. "I saw them play some Fest once with Rancid, Hole, Weezer, 311, etc and Billie spit in some dude's mouth. The kid was wanting it. So strange. Also, Drew Barrymore was there. I remember because I had a crush on her lol and she was dating that guy in Hole. I remember Christie Road, Welcome to Paradise, Longview, Basket Case. But that's about it." — Jason Iverson 31 years ago (11 September 1993), Green Day played a second night at the Hollywood Palladium while supporting Bad Religion.1 point

When you are having dinner with a group of people, most of which you've never met before, and before the end of the night you've hyped up the girl sitting next to you, whom you just met, so much about this Green Day tour that she pulls out her phone to see if there are any affordable tickets left for an upcoming Green Day show 😅1 point
