  1. lol, reading a magazine that describes Mike as the "5'10" Gandalf watching over his kohl-eyed rock-and-roll hobbit companions" - love it 😅

  2. Amuses me no end how pressed Green Day make some people... still. Any rock page on social media posts about them, you get Bob Fuckin' Nobody from Bintown, OH writing "sellouts!" or "poser punks!" Yeah, sure Bob.

  3. @solongfromthestars I think they took the axe thing from Jack Black. That performance of Last Of The American Girls is one of my YT favs, they sound great and Billie looks fantastic!

  4. Wearing this shirt for the first time today. Only problem with it? I keep thinking that the dots (lights) under the word Saviors are crumbs or lint and keep trying to brush them off. 😄

  5. At the Chula Vista show in 2017 I was jumping up and down on the barricade when they played Armatage Shanks (despite my health scare before flying to the US) and Mike pointed to me for Longview but Billie had already decided on someone else

  6. I appreciate that when you order stuff from the 7Collection, it goes through Anaheim (to the Middle East). Inadvertently keeping the JOS theme going 😄

  7. Today (14 September 2024), Green Day are playing in LA on the Saviors Tour. On this day 12 years ago (14 September 2012), Green Day played four full songs and two snippets on Good Morning America in Times Square. More photos: 19 years ago (14 September 2005), Green Day played in Moline, IL on the American Idiot Tour. 24 years ago (14 September 2000), Green Day played Minority on Top of the Pops in London, England. 31 years ago (14 September 1993), Green Day supported Bad Religion in Albuquerque, NM. 33 years ago (14 September 1991), Green Day played in Davis, CA.

  8. They played Suzie Chapstick at the last show....six current era songs at a Green Day show, that is mindblowing! Hopefully with American Idiot and Dookie properly celebrated Green Day will put the nostalgia away for the next several eras and focus on new material. If the public's perception of their modern stuff continues to be positive, they'll do it - and their setlist will only benefit from it. I know that my frustration with them not covering every era live will grow, as they go into having 15+ albums, but there's a right way to more forward. Green Day won't ever stop playing the Dookie and Idiot hits. The Saviors Tour is a good model for what could come later. Play the big Dookie and Idiot songs, play some other big hits, and then play 6-7 brand new song songs. 5 Dookies, 5 Idiots, 10 big hits from across the decades, 7 new songs. A very satisfying 27 set that's not as brutal on the old young guys.

  9. I am sure they will announce more. I think Green Day going to Europe without stopping at the UK might be unheard of. So I think it's pretty much guarenteed they will announce some more dates & destinations. Now, if they will include some solo dates or not, I am less certain. But I am also crossing my fingers for that.

  10. On this day 7 years ago (13 September 2017), Green Day played in Chula Vista, CA on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: We couldn't afford to stay in San Diego, so we stayed at an Airbnb across the border in Tijuana. We meant to set out early but ended up making smoothies with our Airbnb host, who was renting out his spare room because he was lonely since his wife died. He was a wonderful bloke with some great stories to tell and anyway, we arrived at the amphitheatre in the afternoon. A lady from the venue security insisted on taking us to the front of the queue because we'd come from England, which was very nice of her, but I felt bad to the fans who arrived before us so I stood back while they were wristbanded. Most of the people who got there later but got in sooner let the campers and early morning people past, which was really nice to see. We made it onto the end of the barrier anyway since everyone gathered in the centre. We had a great night dancing and jumping with both casual and hardcore fans around us. It was a very nice surprise when they played Armatage Shanks but as usual, my clearest memory is of Forever Now. 12 years ago (13 September 2012), Green Day played Oh Love on America's Got Talent. 14 years ago (13 September 2010), Green Day and the American Idiot Broadway cast played Last of the American Girls and Holiday at the New York Jets' opening game. I had to Google that because I thought it was some complicated football thing I'd never understood, but it was just an opening game. OK. More photos: Afterwards Billie tweeted that "the Jets football thing was fun" but his allegiance will always be to the Raiders because they wear black. 15 years ago (13 September 2009), Green Day played East Jesus Nowhere at the MTV VMAs. They won the Cinematography, Rock Video and Direction awards. I'd like to tell you what the giant medieval axe was about, but I don't know. More photos: 29 years ago (13 September 1995), Green Day played in Budapest, Hungary on the Insomniac Tour. 31 years ago (13 September 1993), Green Day supported Bad Religion in Tempe, AZ. And 33 years ago (13 September 1991), Green Day played at 924 Gilman Street.

  11. I mean, if I *have* to I will, but a proper show beats it 100%.

  12. Found a post on Reddit saying KROQ announced the secret show and the Jimmy Kimmel event are one and the same.

  13. Yes at least I do, since every award usually leads to a boost in streams and sales for the artist and therefore the well deserved recognition Green Day should get for Saviors :)

  14. Uploaded some bits and pieces of the pics and videos my sister took here: https://www.instagram.com/stories/cristhynes_/3455881593488869301?igsh=cDFwbzlqb2ZqMGY1 I will upload the full versions on a drive to share later because I think the Billie close up might be appreciated by Billie's fans, and because my sister's recording of American Idiot is telling of her age and is sort of endearing, but also gives it a slightly psychedelic vibe 😅 Right?! It was my 4th, but also the only one in the US. I am still not sure this tops Lyon for me, but it was really a great show!! I am not sure if it's my perception because of my own head space at this show being different, but I also felt the band was having more fun than at any of the other shows I went to, like they were truly enjoying themselves out there.

  17. That energy last nite was INSANE!!! My third Saviors show but it was my favorite one. And when Billie did Suzie Chapstick OMG what a surprise he sounded so good. I love that song☺️

  18. I went to the show last nite in Dallas. The energy was just so great. I'm waiting at the airport to go home now. But I'm feeling so much post concert depression! Do you guys think that Green Day will do anymore US shows in 2025? Even if its a couple random festivals(US)? Like for example how they had HellaMega in 2021 but played a few festival dates in 2022 and in 2023? Green Day just make me feel better. I don't feel this way about any other band. I feel so depressed the show is over I went to last nite.😫 hope this is ok to post here

  20. I’m glad they’re hitting up so many international tour stops next year, especially places they haven’t been before/in a long time. This is such a wonderful show, it deserves more than one summer tour!

  21. The Melbourne show will be 29 years since my first Green Day concert in Feb 1996 at Festival Hall Melbourne! It will be my 15 year old son's first Green Day concert after the Hella Mega Tour which we had tickets for was cancelled.

  22. Probably also a strategy by the marketing team to sell more tickets. Like, some people in Malaysia already booked tickets to Indonesia. Delhi folks will be traveling to Mumbai for this. I know a lot of people in India itself who snagged South Africa, Malaysia, Dubai tickets before the announcement was made today.

  23. Love that they keep adding countries they haven't played before. 😊

  24. Jakarta, Dubai, South Africa, India… I feel like having achieved most things in their career now they’re on to thinking, we want to play in every country on the planet, where haven’t we played yet?

  25. It's a festival date 🥲 I would have definitely tried to make it if it was a standalone show. But yes, fucking awesome. I am shaking. My wife is pushing me to book the tickets.

  26. Great that you'll be seeing them in Japan but sad that you'll miss them at home after you've waited so long!

  27. HOLY FUCKING SHIT. Sadly, I will be in Japan till 8th March. But nevertheless, what an amazing this to happen. Hope the event people don't fuck it up!! Hopefully more dates, soon? But I doubt that will happen since they would have announced it together with this.

  28. Brutal Love is one of those songs that makes me melt and gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it. I'm so lucky I got to experience it live at my very first Green Day show!

  29. Wow this video of Brutal Love just came up as a reminder of the Brixton show in 2013 on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/share/v/vdC1S55JDe43NX9S/
