  1. Yes at least I do, since every award usually leads to a boost in streams and sales for the artist and therefore the well deserved recognition Green Day should get for Saviors :)

  3. On this day 7 years ago (13 September 2017), Green Day played in Chula Vista, CA on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: We couldn't afford to stay in San Diego, so we stayed at an Airbnb across the border in Tijuana. We meant to set out early but ended up making smoothies with our Airbnb host, who was renting out his spare room because he was lonely since his wife died. He was a wonderful bloke with some great stories to tell and anyway, we arrived at the amphitheatre in the afternoon. A lady from the venue security insisted on taking us to the front of the queue because we'd come from England, which was very nice of her, but I felt bad to the fans who arrived before us so I stood back while they were wristbanded. Most of the people who got there later but got in sooner let the campers and early morning people past, which was really nice to see. We made it onto the end of the barrier anyway since everyone gathered in the centre. We had a great night dancing and jumping with both casual and hardcore fans around us. It was a very nice surprise when they played Armatage Shanks but as usual, my clearest memory is of Forever Now. 12 years ago (13 September 2012), Green Day played Oh Love on America's Got Talent. 14 years ago (13 September 2010), Green Day and the American Idiot Broadway cast played Last of the American Girls and Holiday at the New York Jets' opening game. I had to Google that because I thought it was some complicated football thing I'd never understood, but it was just an opening game. OK. More photos: Afterwards Billie tweeted that "the Jets football thing was fun" but his allegiance will always be to the Raiders because they wear black. 15 years ago (13 September 2009), Green Day played East Jesus Nowhere at the MTV VMAs. They won the Cinematography, Rock Video and Direction awards. I'd like to tell you what the giant medieval axe was about, but I don't know. More photos: 29 years ago (13 September 1995), Green Day played in Budapest, Hungary on the Insomniac Tour. 31 years ago (13 September 1993), Green Day supported Bad Religion in Tempe, AZ. And 33 years ago (13 September 1991), Green Day played at 924 Gilman Street.

  6. I went to the show last nite in Dallas. The energy was just so great. I'm waiting at the airport to go home now. But I'm feeling so much post concert depression! Do you guys think that Green Day will do anymore US shows in 2025? Even if its a couple random festivals(US)? Like for example how they had HellaMega in 2021 but played a few festival dates in 2022 and in 2023? Green Day just make me feel better. I don't feel this way about any other band. I feel so depressed the show is over I went to last nite.😫 hope this is ok to post here

  7. I really hope there's something on here that blows my mind too! I'm still listening to Black Eyeliner from the Nimrod anniversary set and it still blows me away. Such a beautiful song and wonderful surprise. It's been a long time since I've felt that way about a Green Day song — especially one that wasn't even released.

  8. I’m glad they’re hitting up so many international tour stops next year, especially places they haven’t been before/in a long time. This is such a wonderful show, it deserves more than one summer tour!

  9. Of course there will be a full tour in June. No band the size of Green Day ships all their equipment overseas + all the logistics involved just for two random festival dates in rural Germany. More dates will follow soon.

  11. Looks like Keurig got into some trouble over its claims its pods were recyclable. It was one of the drawbacks of the new deal over Oakland Coffee’s cupless pods. Keurig is a rich company, why can’t they just make cupless pods themselves now that it’s proven it can be done? Keurig K-Cup pods are not as recyclable as company claims, SEC says https://www.npr.org/2024/09/12/nx-s1-5109902/keurig-kcup-pods-recycle-sec-fine

  14. On this day 5 years ago (12 September 2019), Green Day played Father of All on Jimmy Kimmel Live. They also did the "Jimmy Kimmel's mean tweets" thing. Theirs was "why does Tré Cool from Green Day look like an emo version of Ted Cruz?" Billie said "well, Mike looks like Putin" and he took his sunglasses off to prove it. Personally, I think that is an unacceptable thing to say. I mean, it's not true! Tré actually looks like David Cameron. Another photo: 19 years ago (12 September 2005), Green Day played in Indianapolis, IN on the American Idiot Tour. "I got four tickets from StubHub to see Green Day on September 12th of 05 in Indianapolis. They were at cost too, so I got really lucky. I took my daughter and two of her friends. The tickets were for the floor SRO. We got there early and there was only one person between all of us and the barricade in front of the stage. You just can't do much better than that. I had been to very many concerts and was going on about what to expect with the girls. Caitlin, my daughter, had been on Green Day websites and got the 'down low' of what pretty consistently goes on at a Green Day concert but she didn't tell me. Man, was I in for a rude awakening. It was so exciting to see them in person and they were so good and really put on a show. But the better they were the closer the crowd moved in and the more squashed I got. I was separated from the rest of the girls. I was finally hoping it would end just so I wouldn't die. I was totally crushed. Finally another fan in the crowd noticed me about to pass out and I was guided to the nearest security guard. I was lifted over the barricade right smack in dead center of the cat walk and handed over to the guard by angry fans because I was in their way. Billie Joe Armstrong just happened to be at the tip of the cat walk playing guitar at the time. I looked him right in the eyes as I touched the stage for balance and then I quickly looked away. I was humiliated to have been 'broken' by the young punks. I missed a lot of the show while I was in the back getting oxygen. Billie looking at me was just as exciting as it was humiliating. But I hated missing some of the best parts of the show. I did make it out while they were playing Wake Me Up When September Ends. I had to come back out at the back of the crowd on the floor and then hunt for the girls when the show was over. I was embarrassed to see them because I just knew that they saw me and would go back to school and tell all about what happened to Caitlin's mom. But after finding them and asking them if they saw they said there was too much commotion going on where they were too and they were getting kicked in the head and everything. So they didn't see. It was definitely an unforgettable night." – A fan who attended the show 29 years ago (12 September 1995), Green Day played in Wiesen, Austria on the Insomniac Tour. More photos: 31 years ago (12 September 1993), Green Day supported Bad Religion in Las Vegas, NV.

  22. Uploaded some bits and pieces of the pics and videos my sister took here: https://www.instagram.com/stories/cristhynes_/3455881593488869301?igsh=cDFwbzlqb2ZqMGY1 I will upload the full versions on a drive to share later because I think the Billie close up might be appreciated by Billie's fans, and because my sister's recording of American Idiot is telling of her age and is sort of endearing, but also gives it a slightly psychedelic vibe 😅 Right?! It was my 4th, but also the only one in the US. I am still not sure this tops Lyon for me, but it was really a great show!! I am not sure if it's my perception because of my own head space at this show being different, but I also felt the band was having more fun than at any of the other shows I went to, like they were truly enjoying themselves out there.

  24. The Nimrod 25th Anniversary (just like the album itself) was underrated. There's at least some differences and unreleased material there that I'm worried we won't get with this set. I'm so fascinated by the era of Insomniac/Nimrod/Warning because there's so much there to be discovered. I feel like we got everything when Idiot came out even if it wasn't "officially" released.

  33. The person with the hat Billie took during KYE was behind me, a bit further out to my right. So I got a privileged view of what happened and lots of Billie lol. Billie asked for it and the person threw it but it fell inside like a box that was between two sound towers (those were extra tall and extra loud this time BTW). So Billie stayed there playing like hoping someone would notice, and people in the barricade were trying to signal to the security person that was closest, but they guy ignored them. But eventually Billie was like, "where is it? Hand me that" and so security moved to pass the hat on to Billie. Other funny moment was during BOBD. The moment where the song pauses Jason White made a mistake and played something out of time. And both Mike and Billie were laughing about it and Billie went up to Jason and pretended to punch him (I was all the way to the other side of the stage, on the far side of Mike, so maybe it was not that the gesture, but that's what it looked like to me). A bit later on in the song Billie and Mike high five'd, not sure what for. It was the moment when everyone had the flash lights out, so it might have been just over the cheer awesomeness of having a stadium with 40K people doing that, or if something else happened to trigger it that I missed. But it was pretty sweet and funny. Billie also brought out the flash light during Holiday. He had done it during the 21CBD tour (and with a bigger flash light) but I don't think he had done it in the European leg of this tour (I had my eyes closed for most of the AI set of the European leg so maybe I just missed it lol). At the end Whatsername Billie said "we don't do encores, that is for pretencious bands, so good night!" and pretended to walk out. During a song (don't remember which) Mike went over to Jason's side and him and Kevin started rocking back and forth the mast (sorry, don't know the right terminology) of their bass / guitar synchronized. They were trying to get Jason to join them, but Jason was like too focused, too in his head space so it was a while before he realized and then he joined in. At the end Trè stayed a bit longer on the stage and did the swinging of the bucket and hit the drum set. If I remember any other funny little details later I will share. On a personal note, I took zero pics and videos in this one. I am already a frugal gal as it is when it comes to taking out my phone during a Green Day shows, but here it was really zero. Last time I took it out was during the the Linda Lindas. This one is my last one of the year for sure because it left me broke lol. And possibly the last one of the tour with the full albums. The crowd around me was amazing, I had a Dookie era guy on one side on his 13th show, and a 21CBD gal in the other in the 5th, both singing along to every song, so no complaints there. My spot was not the best, but I didn't care. I just really enjoyed this show. I had already "mourned" my last full albums show in Paris, because back then I didn't think I'd come to an US show, and I cried with basically every song of AI in that show, starting with AI just because I knew it was the last time to listen to that album in full. So here, I didn't mourn it. I just enjoyed it quite joyfully. As Billie would put it, it was a celebration. I still cried with Whatsername, but that is far less than I did in any of the European shows I went to hahaha. He also said the "and just like that... 20 years" line while ending whatsername. I am both sad and glad I had spoiled this for myself, because it would have been so emotional if I hadn't, but I probably would still be sobbing if I hadn't known 😂. I also kept my eyes open for more of the show this time than the Europeans one haha. In those ones I was really just closing my eyes with my hand over my heart because too many feelings. My sister did take pics and photos, I will share tomorrow. Oh and someone from the crew I didn't see at any point of the show gave me a guitar pick during Good Riddance. Like very e specifically to me, and put it in my hand quite purposefuly, like shook my hand to give it to me. I think it was because I was singing along at the top of my lungs at that moment, but I felt quite special anyways.

  37. Today (11 September 2024), Green Day are playing in Dallas, TX on the Saviors Tour. More photos and videos on GDA https://www.greendayauthority.com/news/6198/ On this day 2 years ago (11 September 2022), Green Day played in Buenos Aires, Argentina. More photos: 7 years ago (11 September 2017), Green Day played in Albuquerque, NM on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: When the band were soundchecking Billie spoke (through the mic, obviously, not directly) to the people queuing outside. I don't remember exactly what he said. It was something along the lines of "hello to you crazy people lining up to see us." I think he might have mentioned the tour coming to an end too. I got heat exhaustion for the first time in that queue. The amphitheatre is out in the desert and the only shade was by the portaloos, so my friend and I sat there. For the future reference of anyone reading this thread, portaloo "shade" is not shade. The sunlight coming through the plastic will just bake you alive. Catfish and the Bottlemen were supporting and before every show, a roadie fiddled with Van McCann's weighted mic stand for at least 20 minutes so the mic would lay on his face and he could push it around with his mouth. I have no idea how else to describe it. It was weird and he came across as very arrogant, so I'm not going to lie, everyone laughed when he fell over and the whole weighted mic thing came crashing down with him. Anyway, the venue security made sure I had enough water and Eddie (Green Day's security at the time) was looking out for everyone, so I stuck it out and of course it was worth it. One of the security guards who helped me gave me a setlist afterwards. 19 years ago (11 September 2005), Green Day played in Auburn Hills, MI on the American Idiot Tour. Photo by Kate Sumbler 29 years ago (11 September 1995), Green Day played in Prague, Czechia on the Insomniac Tour. More photos: 30 years ago (11 September 1994), Green Day played the End It benefit concert in Seattle, WA. "I saw them play some Fest once with Rancid, Hole, Weezer, 311, etc and Billie spit in some dude's mouth. The kid was wanting it. So strange. Also, Drew Barrymore was there. I remember because I had a crush on her lol and she was dating that guy in Hole. I remember Christie Road, Welcome to Paradise, Longview, Basket Case. But that's about it." — Jason Iverson 31 years ago (11 September 1993), Green Day played a second night at the Hollywood Palladium while supporting Bad Religion.

  40. I just wish we had an acoustic demo of this song. I want to hear it raw on a single guitar when he first wrote it, not a full band version ready to record. That’s what’s cool about demos, hearing the evolution of the song. This is mostly there already apart from the lyrics. I want acoustic demos of everything

  42. Nuclear Family came on my spotify just now while I was working, it had been a really really long time since I have heard that song, and I am happy to report that I still hear "I just want some action so gimme Mike Dirn(t)", which I would argue is a way better line than instead of "gimme my turn", so I'll continue singing it as "gimme Mike Dirn" 😂 I had to look up the lyrics to know what he was actually saying, and I remembered going through exactly the same thing when the trilogy came out. Some things don't change I guess (probably aided by the fact that back in the day I also was like, fuck it, gimme Mike Dirn it is" lol).
