  1. I can’t think of another time when I’ve felt my heart sink into my stomach so fast. That was so eerie to experience, especially since I was up in the stands with a bunch of casual fans who didn’t seem to realize right away that something was wrong. The music cut off but the crowd kept singing for a few seconds longer. Maybe working in news for so long has made me always assume the worst, but I was terrified I was about to be a part of a mass panic/evacuation situation. I thought security saw somebody with a gun or other weapon and felt the guys were in danger — especially Mike since he was rushed off first. My initial thought was maybe Mike had a medical emergency but once @Mar saw them all getting rushed away from the venue in golf carts because she could see behind the stage from her seat, I knew that didn’t make any sense. After people realized them leaving the stage wasn’t supposed to happen, we all just sat there confused and quiet and on edge. It was really unnerving, but surprisingly nobody seemed to outwardly panic near me. Well, except me. Even though they tried to resume like nothing had happened — even picking up mid-song — it really took a while for me to get back “into it” after that. I felt really bad for fans experiencing the show for the first time. First, the fact that they were probably panicking thinking that it might get canceled. And then the fact that the whole point is to hear the album as a cohesive experience. Not with a 10-minute anxiety attack break, ugh. And then my brain did the whole “omg someday the band won’t be here any more and I don’t know how I’ll cope” thing after thinking one of them might be seriously hurt or threatened. … all this during a song about masturbation. This fucking band, what have they done to me. Also, Billie’s amp went out during the end of Good Riddance and he had to play his guitar into the microphone while singing into it as well. His face at the end, when he said it was “a night we’ll all remember,” his expression just screamed “what a fucking shit show,” ha.

  2. I just wish we had an acoustic demo of this song. I want to hear it raw on a single guitar when he first wrote it, not a full band version ready to record. That’s what’s cool about demos, hearing the evolution of the song. This is mostly there already apart from the lyrics. I want acoustic demos of everything

  3. That WMUWSE demo sounds more like something off Warning. Nasally Warning era Billie. I love it 🙂

  4. The what now? 😂 I really missed a lot! Thanks for clarifying. If anyone wanted to prepare a quick course about "Green Day and side projects, between the release of the Trilogy and now" with a review of releases besides Revolution Radio and Father of All, highlights of the tours, memorable interviews, etc, I would sign for it and study for the test! 😂 EDIT: Love the song, and love the video. Will listen again to the PHGP song now for a compare and contrast 😂

  5. I suspect the cost of these side gig tours comes out of Billie’s pocket. He pays his bandmates and covers the cost. The Longshot shows couldn’t have made anything. Tickets were dirt cheap they sold barely any merch and most clubs were 200-300 cap. He does this because he loves it and for the fans. I would love a small Longshot style tour for PG. Tickets for east coast shows were not hard to get.

  7. God Billie and the guys are such pros just coming back and playing after a scare like that. Glad everyone was safe and OK.

  8. Beautiful statement here from the band. I hadn’t realized that they’ve gotten together to play just for themselves nearly every year since they formed. So it’s not a reunion at all, they just decided to release music again and they’re super proud of it. If anyone knows the original source of this statement I’d love to see it, I can’t find where it’s from. https://www.instagram.com/p/C_ipCbptTqe/?igsh=MWJ1aXl1MnM5NGUxNQ==

  9. Found four of the cups for sale at a Speedway! They didn’t have the new coffee yet though. Apparently the store received the wrong USBs to update the coffee machine, so if they loaded it with the Punk Bunny blend it wouldn’t show on the screen that that’s what it’s serving. So they’re waiting till they get a new one to load the machine. I assume that’s why I haven’t seen it anywhere locally yet so I guess I’ll have to wait to try it. They did have bags of grounds of the normal blends but luckily I can get K-cups at Giant Eagle now!

  10. On this day 3 years ago (6 September 2021), Green Day played the last show of the North American Hella Mega Tour in Seattle, WA. More photos: 7 years ago (6 September 2017), Green Day played in Orange Beach, AL on the Revolution Radio Tour. “Great to play in Alabama where my stepfather Gordin Smith was born and also laid to rest.🙏🏽 He was a good man who taught me a a lot, and once again I can see why he loved his home state so much! Thank you so much for making us feel so at home tonight! 🎶” — Mike More photos: 12 years ago (6 September 2012), Green Day played Let Yourself Go at the MTV VMAs. "We sort of got crowd-eaten. They sort of collapsed on us and that was… fun.” — Billie More photos: 29 years ago (6 September 1995), Green Day played in Cologne, Germany on the Insomniac Tour. 32 years ago (6 September 1992), Green Day played Uncle Charlie's in Corte Madera, CA on the Kerplunk Tour.

  12. WMUWSE's demo isn't as good as Holiday/BOBD's imo. That version of the songs, even if it's very similar to the final product, seems like a version of those songs that I could see myself preferring over the album version. But still interesting to hear the new WMUWSE demo even if it's definitely not as good as the final product. The line about Billie's dad not being there also surprised me, would have assumed that was there from the start. It's ok to be disappointed that these demos aren't more different but remember the band can only take what they have, there's probably a limited amount of demos that are decent enough quality to be released. I'd probably expect some of the non-single demos to be somewhat different from their final versions but it also makes sense for the band to be releasing the demos for the big singles first.

  13. Ngl i'm here for the new songs. The demos sound quite similar. Governator is literally a song from The Network

  14. I will say, as someone who collects just about everything they've put out, it does kind of stink having about 90% of this set already. Didn't stop me from ordering the deluxe bundle, but still. It is neat to hear these demos, but I hope some of the others are drastically different. It is interesting how the WMUWSE demo doesn't have the lyric about Billie's dad in it. I thought this about the BLVD demo as well. Definitely gave me Warning-vocal vibes.

  17. I know we discussed this ad nauseum last night but yeah, exactly. Even though I knew rationally that if they planned to stop the show again they wouldn't have restarted it in the first place, I still felt uneasy at least through Basket Case, and I feel like the crowd felt the same, because that is normally one of the biggest crowd participation songs and it seemed a little quiet. And lmao @ that Insta post they had Billie do, you can tell he was like FUUUUUUUCK DETROIT MAN 😂 which has now given me macro-level anxiety like you had. What if starting Saturday or starting the next tour they change or limit things because they've also been analyzing this as deeply as we are and those changes, while necessary for the safety of the band, make the experience less friendly for the fans?! (Not that I'd blame them, but again, just thinking selfishly!) Yknow, maybe this experience in Detroit will make them rethink their anti-Cleveland stance, though 🤔 😄 because after all, you can't have shit in Detroit!

  23. Well, that was something. What's been posted in here basically explains it. It was very confusing — the way we all saw them grab Mike, we thought something happened with him specifically. I could see from my seat that everyone was being carted away in golf carts and knew it was some sort of threat. I assumed it was something in the pit that escalated until I saw that the people in the pit were as still and stunned as the rest of us. Honestly, I selfishly didn't panic — I just thought "Yep, of course. I've been relying on this show to single-handedly keep me sane and now I only get four songs." It wasn't until later that I considered that we could've been in danger, too. But they came back and didn't miss a beat, didn't miss a song. I'm grateful they worked it out and grateful they got back out there for us. It's weird, I was of the age where AI meant more to me than Dookie, but I enjoyed the Dookie set more than I thought I would. And even though I obviously knew AI was being played in full, I think I had gotten so used to hearing St. Jimmy segue into some other common setlist song that when Give Me Novacaine came on, I was somehow surprised and that made it all the more beautiful. I hope maybe I can remember more specific feelings later — I'm still wired from the pause and making sense of being there for such a weird moment.

  24. I’ll speculate and say we’ll get a two week West Coast mini tour after after the November 15th Green Day show in Mexico City. Maybe late November/early December, then a well earned break ahead of the holidays, and some time off before the January/February Green Day shows.

  27. Very strong Ha Ha You're Dead vibes! Ehm, Back in the USA? Which song is that? 🫣

  28. I imagine it's probably originally because he might have thought it too raw to keep performing it with the lyrics about his dad but eventually it just wasn't potent enough without?

  30. All the professional photos from this show are in the GDA article about it. https://www.greendayauthority.com/news/6193/ If yours isn't there then unfortunately it seems no-one has posted it You could try contacting Greg Schneider, the Detroit Free Press, The Detroit News, Joe Maroon or any other local photographers to ask if they have them.

  31. I can hardly believe the lyrics about his dad aren’t in this, it’s still a great song but those additional lyrics really make a difference imo! I feel that change really elevates the song. I’m stunned it’s not there.

  36. I was expecting something else with these demos. They sound better than some finished material out there. I hope the unknown tracks are totally new songs, otherwise it's not worth all the amount of money on the boxset

In fact, I lost my password to this account long time ago and after I saw this, I HAD to recover my password to comment here.

  44. I thought it was quite nice of Billie to get a haircut between my Philly and Pittsburgh shows since I complained it was getting too long. His floof amount is now at IMO the absolute perfect volume. He put a hat on and took it off and I swear it bounced back bigger. Magical floof.

  46. I think Saviors is still pretty good, but it would’ve been nice if they could’ve combined it with some trilogy songs. Could’ve gone from like 21 CB/Rev Rad album combo to Saviors mixed with the trilogy and some other songs scattered in from side projects and father of all. Sorry if this is spam-like. But here is how I’d combine the albums- Saviors/Trilogy mix- The American Dream is Killing Me Look Ma, no Brains State of Shock Bobby Sox Dilemma One Eyed Bastard Goodnight Adeline Fell for You Stray Heart Coma City Kill your Friends Corvette Summer Suzie Chapstick Strange Days are Here to Stay Fever Blister Devil’s Kind Living in the 20’s Graffitia Amy And 21CB would just have Still Breathing, Bang Bang, Revolution Radio, Ordinary World thrown in.

  47. Agree, those shows are cool. Knowledge in Electric Factory could be edited though. I like the fact we will get full AI live, plus We are the Champions. On the other hand, I can't deny I feel some dissapointment about CD 2, that's just content from singles and special editions from that era and nothing unreleased.
