Between Linda Lindas and Rancid I was coming back from the bathroom I met Kevin! He was so nice and gave me and my sister picks!!11 points

Just got home, it was an incredible show! They had a fan come up and play guitar for Good Riddance. I know how special that is since it wasn’t part of the show and she did an amazing job. The audience loved it. I’ll have more to write later after some sleep but in case any of you had a shadow of a doubt: the boys still bring the magic.9 points

I prefer Bang Bang to Know Your Enemy (although I actually love both), but I hope they don't get rid of Know Your Enemy because if they're going to bring a fan onstage, that takes up the least time and as Cristhyne said, it's the most democratic option since anyone can sing a few lines. Also, so many people hate Know Your Enemy that at least fans aren't ruining a song that everyone cares about? It was lovely when Billie let that bloke play Dilemma in Glasgow because it was so unexpected, but I'd much rather hear the band than fans most of the time. I'm not fussed either way about King for a Day or Hitchin' a Ride. I've never hated them but I didn't miss them either. As far as I'm concerned, they could switch literally anything in the setlist with Fell For You, Angel Blue, Rusty James, Stop When the Red Lights Flash, Wild One, Stray Heart, Wow! That's Loud, Brutal Love, Missing You, 8TH AVENUE SERENADE or X-Kid. I'd take anything from the trilogy. Or Suzie Chapstick or Meet Me on the Roof. Or Still Breathing or Forever Now again. And, I mean, if Green Day ever feel like covering The Longshot, I'd gladly take that too. But at the end of the day I keep going to hear the exact same setlists and never complain, because why would I complain when they put on such a good show that four hours of King for a Day would probably entertain me? So whatever. 8th Avenue Serenade though.8 points

Don't even tempt me with *NSYNC covers! They could play a mean The Game is Over 😄 iirc, Forever Now was the closer during the RevRad days. It was amazing; I remember getting chills during the final solo at Wrigley!4 points

As usual, GD is a religious experience. 7 years was too long to see them again.4 points

They were playing Forever Now in the RevRad tour? 🥺 Having missed the Trilogy and RevRad tours completely, I must say that I'd be very partial to them playing Revolution Radio, Say Good Bye (although my gut tells me they probably weren't even playing this during that tour), Forever Now and Brutal Love. Oh, and Fancy Sauce? I get it, there would be riots if they didn't close with Good Riddance, but come on, that's a a very good closing song. Or swap it for Minority (but I do love Minority)... just put it somewhere in the setlist. But yeah, I mean for this tour that we are getting Dookie and American Idiot in full, I cannot ask for more. They could be playing just NSYNC covers for the rest of show and I'd still be happy as a clam.3 points

On this day 7 years ago (21 August 2017), Green Day played in Cuyahoga Falls, OH on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: 11 years ago (21 August 2013), Green Day played Brixton Academy in London, England on the 99 Revolutions Tour. I took these shitty phone pics: Billie had ripped up his shirt before the show and changed into the black and red stripy one before the encore. I remember him singing Let Yourself Go like his life depended on it. Brutal Love was the highlight. I admittedly don't remember much else because I was having an awful day (personal stuff, nothing to do with the show), but I do remember crying during that beautiful performance of Brutal Love, partly because it moved me so much and partly because I knew it would probably be a long time until I saw Green Day again. More (decent) photos: 14 years ago (21 August 2010), Green Day played in Montreal, Canada on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. Billie forgot the lyrics to Platypus, but they played it! They also played F.O.D. which was a big deal at the time. According to setlist.fm, they soundchecked Church on Sunday. More photos: 15 years ago (21 August 2009), Green Day played in Las Vegas, NV on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. More photos: 19 years ago (21 August 2005), Green Day played in San Antonio, TX on the American Idiot Tour. 23 years ago (21 August 2001), Green Day played in Berlin, Germany on the Warning Tour. Today I learned that they often played Platypus on that tour. 26 years ago (21 August 1998), Green Day played (setlist incomplete) Bizarre Festival in Cologne, Germany on the Nimrod Tour. More photos: 30 years ago (21 August 1994), Green Day played a second night at Lollapalooza in Dallas, TX on the Dookie Tour. 33 years ago (21 August 1991), Green Day played in a bedroom at 202 Samford Avenue in Auburn, AL. About 30 people attended the 40-minute show, but after it ended, more people arrived and were disappointed to hear it was already over. The band's money and clothes were stolen from their van at the show prior, so everyone pitched in to help. They stayed in Auburn for another day. Ken Sanderson of Prank Records, who booked the show, believes they completed some songs from Kerplunk while Billie Joe played his acoustic guitar on the porch.2 points

Okay then, they could be playing Baby Shark for the rest of the show and I'd be happy as a clam 😂. And I am bummed to have missed Brutal Love and Forever Now as closers 😢. But so they did swap Good Riddance here and there for something else. You'd think they could swap it for Fancy Sauce now 😅2 points

^^it's the exact same mix as the one on Jesus of Suburbia single. I still don't get why they haven't included the whole Storytellers gig since it's been professionally recorded and aired on TV back in the day. It's also one of the most memorable and iconic shows of AI era. Oh, and I can't say that I'm not disappointed that we're getting only 3 brand new songs out of all those alleged unreleased B sides I've been reading about for the last 20 years. I was convinced there would be a lot more of those. This was the perfect and proper opportunity for those being released. Nevertheless, I'm still very excited for this! I mean, it is my favorite band after all and will always be. ❤️2 points

Yup they closed with Brutal Love, which I wasn't mad about at all! 99 Revolutions was my first Green Day show and I so happy they swapped Good Riddance for Brutal Love. The trilogy got so much love on that tour, makes sense why, but it's a shame that those shows don't pop up in there setlist more often. Forever Now on the RevRad tour was awesome! I try to avoid setlist spoilers when I go to shows, so I was certainly surprised when I heard those opening chords. It gave me goosebumps!2 points

Yup, Forever Now during RevRad. It was great. But the last bit definitely felt long (albeit fun) cause it went from that to AI (with lots of Hey-Ohs, and then JoS. And then Ordinary World and Good Riddance). I remember not hearing Good Riddance until the RevRad tour cause they didn't play it during the 99 Revolutions Tour stop in my city. I don't think they played it the first few stops/half the tour, with Brutal Love being the closer then.2 points

So according to Alice Baxley’s story, Billie pranked the LL’s by imitating one of their members and wearing cat whiskers at the end of the show. It sounds like they’ve been trading pranks back and forth all tour. Billie’s such a funcle 😂 I love the relationship he has with them it’s very cute1 point

It was a prank the Linda Lindas played on him for late in the set. At least that's how he phrased it. I think it may be related to how one of the crew members came out in a cat head during one of the linda's songs.1 point

I was concerned when HAR first made an appearance on the setlist, but I’m glad we got Brain Stew instead. That being said… I would love for BB or RevRad to make an appearance again.1 point

Shocked that this doesn’t seemingly have its own thread yet… but! Looks like we might be getting a Pete and Meat (or at least Pete) signature amp sometime in the future! https://www.instagram.com/p/C7XAty8pZ-U/?igsh=c25yNmIxbmZyNWJu1 point

Yup, Hitchin a Ride. I say switch KYE for Bang Bang. It too was a successful single that would ramp people up.1 point

I think it's Hitchin' A Ride 100% agree with you! I'd switch those songs out for some trilogy songs! #BrutalLoveFTW1 point

The only negative of these shows for me is no KFAD or HAR lol. Two full albums instead is very nice for a change but definitely hope they bring them back, along with not ripping through songs quite so fast and more crowd stuff/silly stuff.1 point

I was at the Philly show in 2021. Few pics below. I was further back since I had met up with a friend who didn't want to be too deep in the pit (Covid days), so I just made my way around once GD started. This is what led to my trip to the UK in 2022 since I needed to get back up close!1 point

On this day 3 years ago (20 August 2021), Green Day played in Philadelphia, PA on the Hella Mega Tour. More photos: 7 years ago (20 August 2017), Green Day played in Cincinnati, OH on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: 14 years ago (20 August 2010), Green Day played in Quebec, Canada on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. Notable songs were 1000 Hours, Brat, 86 and at the time, Homecoming and Whatsername. They also started playing 80 but Billie forgot the lyrics. 15 years ago (20 August 2009), Green Day played in San Diego, CA on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. They played Disappearing Boy and Drama Queen. More photos: 19 years ago (20 August 2005), Green Day played in Dallas, TX on the American Idiot Tour. 30 years ago (20 August 1994), they played Lollapalooza in Dallas, TX on the Dookie Tour.1 point

I recently listened to Saviors from top to bottom and I still love it six months later. Some songs I've cooled on like Father to a Son, but overall the album is still fantastic and is their strongest work in a while. Glad that the album still resonates months after its release.1 point

I'm actually pretty confident that during non-album shows they'll be playing more of the stuff they couldn't normally play. 21st Century Breakdown might finally see some love after all these years and lets not forget recent resurgence of Warning songs being played. I have no confidence to see any love towards Trilogy, Revolution Radio nor Father of All but I wouldn't mind to hear one (or 37 songs on Trilogy) or two songs from them.1 point

I was browsing the seat maps for the future shows on Ticketmaster and I noticed the Atlanta show for august 28 has a ridiculous number of seats still available. Looks like the prices were dropped by a lot on floor seats but still curious to see how many of the seats actually sell. Even tomorrow's show in Cincy seems to have a large number of unsold seats as well.0 points
