  1. This is why I partially don't want to meet them, like I would never go out of my way to meet them. I know they are humans and are entitled to have a bad day, or to be exhausted, or to be in pain, and you might catch them in one of those bad days/moments. And if you do, then you have this moment you have built up in your mind and it turns that in reality it sucks, or they were not as nice as you hoped, and you carry that memory with you for the rest of time. Even if you know it's normal and that absolutely no one can be nice all the time, I guess it will still sting. We don't know in what tone Tre said those things, maybe it was jokes that didn't land, maybe he was really being a bit of a jerk, so I have sympathy for the guy except precisely in that part of "Having a bad day only shows how unaware you are of your surroundings and that you are a selfish person." it's like, no it only shows they are humans. And also, you are paying for a show, you are flying half way across the country for a show, and you are entitled you expect a great show. But that doesn't mean you are also entitled to meet them and to expect them to be nice to you (unless he had paid for a meet and greet or something). And I say this as someone who has traveled abroad to see them because they were not doing shows in my country.

  6. It just sounds like he was saying random jokey stuff like he usually would. I don't know why they would expect a free full meet and greet and autograph/photo session when just randomly seeing him, a couple minutes chat sounds good to me. Plenty of times they don't even stop to talk at all when leaving shows. Maybe a language barrier thing (considering they took offense to him "lying about his flyer" when he just made a light hearted comment).

  7. Reading through that I'm not seeing what he did or said that was bad? Like, he happened to have had some beers after the show and didn't talk to them as long as they wanted or say the things they wanted? Just sounds like he was a bit drunk and joking around and not there to spend a lot of time talking. Not sure why they'd expect more when just randomly meeting someone (not at a meet and greet etc), sounds like an entitled attitude the way they keep going on and on about how much they spent and traveled as if that entitles them to anything but seeing the show. I can't see a single thing he said there that is particularly dickish or "very rude".

  8. On this day 14 years ago (3 August 2010), Green Day played in Camden, NJ on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. More photos: 14 years ago, Green Day played in Tampa, FL on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. They played part of Hold On! More photos: 30 years ago, Green Day played The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ on the Dookie Tour. They also did an interview in the Bookmobile before the show.

  10. So here is what I remember: Green Day started at 8:30 and finished at around 10:50 Rooftop was closed, not sure if it’s common for concerts at this venue or not The plane during Dookie made people pretty excited Billie’s voice sounded great throughout the night. I don’t know how the band can keep this level of energy playing that many songs, it’s super impressive. At first I kept trying for regular-priced pit tickets and didn’t find any. Ended up getting pretty great floor seats in the section right next to the pit. I was worried about the sound in a stadium, but from where I was, the sound was great. But I did read about people sitting elsewhere where the sound was not so good. Pit had some room left at the back. Slightly less intersection from Billie compared to what I am used to but it allowed to make room for more songs. Just slightly less, because I think that he also timed the interactions better within songs. So either way, like now or like before is great. I thought 60 Canadian $ for T-shirts is too expensive but after seeing the show and loving it so much I was like ok I’ll pay the 60 $. So after that the show I went and the 2-3 styles i liked only had sizes that were two sizes too big for me, so I only got the tote bag and the show’s patch. —- Hearing Dookie and especially American Idiot in full and in order was such a dream come true for me as a fan. Honestly, I feel like a 2h 20 mins greatest hits along with a few Saviors songs would also have worked for casual fans and the fact that they chose to do not 1 but 2 albums in full along with 5 songs from Saviors is such a gift to their hardcore fans. So a big thank you to Billie, Mike and Tré ❤️. The set is fantastic, the inflatable stuffs are super cute. It does really seem like a big celebration of Dookie, American Idiot and Saviors. The only song I wasn’t too excited to hear was Know Your Enemy, but the fan interaction on it is, each time, really heartwarming to see so I guess that’s fine. Highlights for me: Not to exaggerate but it’s all of it, but if I had to choose the big standouts for me, it would be: Dilemma, the Dookie plane, Wake me up when September ends, Homecoming, Bobby Sox, Billie burping early into Good Riddance and saying something like sorry it’s the poutine 😂 Overall, it could be my favorite Green Day show ever..,not exactly sure, but for sure it is my favorite setlist they have ever done. I miss it already and my wish list would be a second leg of the tour, this time, with different or more songs from Saviors being played (I really want to hear Fancy Sauce and Suzie Chapsticks live!). That’s all!

  23. In addition, Oakland has lost the Athletics and they're going to move to Las Vegas (same as how they lost their football team the Raiders also to Las Vegas a few years ago). So Billie and a lot of other Oakland residents are giving extra support to the Ballers because of that.

  37. Hey @Hermione get it straight, it was a SEVERED HEAD according to them. Who’s gonna break it to these folks what part of the body masks go on? The Nimrod Trump shirt is back on their website (https://store.greenday.com/products/nimrod-45-t-shirt) with this description: “We had a final few of these left over in the warehouse, and decided that right now was a good reason to make them available if anyone wants them. No specific reason.“ I am profoundly in love with this band.

  42. Tré Cool was supposedly an asshole after the show in Toronto. He was drunk. https://new.reddit.com/r/greenday/comments/1eitpyw/i_met_tre_cool_in_toronto/ I met Tre Cool yesterday in Toronto. He was very rude and I was so disappointed. He had a beer in his hand and he looked drunk. It was past midnight. He came for 2 minutes to talk to us (we were 3) and he completely ignored what we said and just started saying gibberish about playing a gospel show next time. I told him I flew from all over the country for this show and that they were my favourite band of the whole world and he almost didn't react and left. He just complained that I should have gone to the Montréal show on Saturday instead but I told him it was written on their flyer that it was a non album show because it's a festival. And he told me "you don't know about that". So you are lying about your own flyer ? And he proceeded to be condescending about "yeah you people in Québec all speak French 😒" At least I speak 2 languages what about you ? I only speak English to you right now what does it have to do about it. Do you feel this way about every other country that has not English as their primary language ? That was so disrespectful and shameful. I'm just a fan here that wanted to compliment you guys. I told him that I saw them last year in my hometown in Québec City and loved the show and I kid you not, he just left we were stunned. He didn't wanna sign anything or take pictures and he ignored the other fans after. We were so quiet and polite and I would have prefered if he didn't came to see us at all. I mean yeah you are tired after playing and it's late. But let it not be an excuse to be a dick. You probably made one million and we paid 300$ or plus for this show. It's part of your job to be grateful to your fans and show them you care. Especially when they travel from really afar and spent like 1000$ or plus to see you, they must really love you, please show some respect or acknowledgment. But then you see their true colors. Fame and money isn't everything. Having a bad day only shows how unaware you are of your surroundings and that you are a selfish person. Being kind is always free and easy to do when you are a minimum empathetic. That's just a pattern of his. I heard good things about Mike and Billie so I think Tre is maybe the only rude in the band. And if you know you are being a jerk when you drink alcohol, maybe you have a problem and you should not drink at all. I met so many bands in my life, many after the show, and most of them were exhausted but still took time for us. Just to tell you, after Tre left, Tim of Rancid was with him and he was more interested in us and he was really nice. And after Branden from Rancid came by at like 2am and chatted with us for a whole 15 min and took pictures and all. I'm not a huge Rancid fan, but I respect the band x1000 now because they've been doing music for a long time and they still manage to keep a good attitude and be grateful l. Tim + Branden were my highlight. My friend also told me he had bad experiences everytime he met Tre Cool so that was definitely not an isolated event. I'm relieved I'm not alone.
