I'm going through a severe Brutal Love obsession at the moment. I rarely ever listen to the Trilogy, so when I do I often rediscover a really good song I had forgotten about.

Hey guys, the new issue (No. 5) of the Saviors FanZine is released, made by some devoted fans and featuring pictures, art and fan reports from the European tour leg. I came across the project on Instagram and also sent in some of my pics and my fan report (I'm Meike). Please definitely check out the interview with Franka, the girl Billie took on stage to play Good Riddance with him during the Hamburg concert, it's a fantastic story. I still have my firm all time favourites but I'm still really enjoying TADIKM at the moment (I tried to make sure I didn't overplay it when it came out!)

Just saw the film this afternoon, and got a nice surprise at the end, as I hadn’t heard anything about this. So annoying that the soundtrack has 2 of the songs missing/omitted (Madonna and AC/DC), kind of makes it bit pointless. I feel that the right songs can make such a difference. More Green Day in film soundtracks from now on 😎.

I keep hovering back to the Trilogy a lot even though they're not my favorite albums, "Stay the Night" specifically, it's such a fun song.

Can't believe I'm saying this because I hated it until I heard it live, but Bobby Sox. Specifically the shitty audio from Lyon. It's a bop and that was the best performance I heard. I knew all the lyrics not because I'd been willingly listening to it, but because my girlfriend wouldn't shut the fuck up and... well, it turned out I actually enjoyed singing along to it, so I've got to thank her for annoying me with that song after all. But my all time favourite Green Day song? 8th Avenue Serenade, of course. It is my username. Saaaaay so long from the stars!

There are imperfections throughout Saviors in the instrumentation. Guitar especially. They just left it in for a more “human” sound I imagine, and it’s a creative decision. Again without getting boring, everything in 21CB is pretty much millisecond perfect throughout. They probably did lots of takes, and it would’ve been edited extensively. I imagine this is part of the reason why the band don’t look back on the process that fondly. There is also a lot more production in terms of effects and extra instrumentation in 21CB. For the most part, apart from a couple of songs, Saviors is just layers of guitar, bass and drums.
