On this day 3 years ago (20 July 2021), Green Day played Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK before the Hella Mega Tour. More photos: 5 years ago (2019), The Coverups played the 40th Street Block Party in Oakland, CA. 15 years ago (2009), Green Day played in Boston, MA on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. More photos: 22 years ago (2002), they played the Distortion Festival in Nottingham, England on the Warning Tour. "Green Day were the headliners at Distortion 2002. They were last on, but worth waiting for. Complete madness ensued as soon as they came on stage. Their music and their fireworks ignited an uncontrollable frenzy, as stewards struggled to keep the fans on the right side of the barrier." — BBC More photos: 23 years ago (2001), they played in Santa Barbara, CA on the Warning Tour. 24 years ago (2000), they played in Boston, MA on the Warped Tour. 30 years ago (1994), they played in Neenah, WI on the Dookie Tour. And 33 years ago (1991), they played The Cruel Elephant in Vancouver, Canada.4 points

For anyone who wants to see the movie before the video it’s on YouTube Edit: just watched it and I clearly remember seeing this as a kid. There were some scenes and lines that came back to me it was crazy. It was actually pretty good. Good quality upload too. I wonder if they’ll include scenes from the movie in the video or just recreate some scenes with our guys and Mark.4 points

Every time I see new pictures of Billie, I ask myself how it is possible that he is a 52-year-old man.3 points

I'd love a Strange Days Are Here to Stay video, almost feels like you could single out that song and it would be good representative of the album as a whole thematically.3 points

It’s nice to have a new music video! Just wished it wasn’t Corvette Summer, one of the weakest song from the album. Still better than nothing 😀3 points

They make arguably their best album since 2009 and decide to release THIS song as a single? What an odd choice 😅.3 points

Maybe they'll play Corvette Summer to promote it after the video?2 points

This is the first time in Green Day history a Track 9 has been made into a single. It's an extremely strange choice, but I think I see why they did it. This is kind of like She's a Rebel in that's in the only glimmer of happiness within the context of the lyrics and if you aren't wanting to put out a depressing song like Suzie Chapstick, then this is song from Side B that's getting a slightly level of streams. Once this one gets boosted a little bit, the Saviors streams will be elevated not to the point of static, but the point of being put in as one of the best Green Day records in the popular opinion. Then we can move on and start typing insane theories about ALBUM 15. If Green Day and I work together, I think that I can actually get Girlfriend Number 17 the exact same day as Album 17.2 points

How does Billie even look good as a 52 year old high school student?!2 points

Would love for this to have select screenings like “Turn It Around” did, or Broadway Idiot.2 points

I recognized the boy, but would have never recognized the girl. Last time I saw a picture of her she was like 4 or 5? When they were sharing Mike's wife cancer journey. So obviously I thought she was no older than 7 now 😅 I feel ancient now 😂2 points

Have separated the guys out too (Billie is so cute) And from Tre on Instagram2 points

Looks like another high school setting. So replace the motorcycle with a Corvette and sounds a lot like Meet Me On the Roof Also, Mike’s kids Brixton and Ryan in the photo2 points

MAID OF ACE on supporting Green Day at Wembley How did an ‘unsigned’ DIY UK punk band Maid of Ace come to play stadium gigs with Green Day – the stadium pop-punk millionaires that punk purists love to hate? Ged Babey finds out how Punk Rock Dreams can come true and why people should stop slagging off Green Day. https://louderthanwar.com/maid-of-ace-on-supporting-green-day-at-wembley-interview/2 points

I noticed that too, his hair has reached a level of fluffiness during this era that is just surreal. I had never been a fan of blonde Billie, I must confess, but after this tour, I absolutely LOVE it. It even feels kind of wrong looking at old pictures of him with black hair, LOL.2 points
-
His hair has been so fluffy this entire Saviors era. I love it so much. I always preferred the black hair but I really feel like the blonde hair is working with this level of fluff.2 points

He looked so cute with the fluffy blond hair and red socks to match his outfit2 points

Definitely hyped for this. This song was instantly catchy upon the first listen. Instant classic Green Day song all around. And that cowbell…chef’s kiss. And this increases the chances of us seeing it live on the U.S. tour 😎1 point

Nvm, presale tickets go live tomorrow and the process is so complicated that no one who lives there is willing to help me. Fingers crossed for general sale.1 point

I don’t think it’ll be in theatres at all, the BBFC website says VOD (Video on Demand)/Streaming and physical media only. It would be super cool to see in theatres though, and then again that is only for the UK release of the film, so we never know what we might get over in North America.1 point

I wonder what parts they're all playing in this it sounds like it could be a movie spoof or a story with guest actors like they did for Meet Me on the Roof. Also something self financed I assume.1 point

Hannibal and GD is the combo I didn't know I needed and now I'm so glad to have it1 point
