  1. The most adorkable thing at the Wembley show was when Billie told a crowd of 80,000 people "knock knock" while having no punchline to say TWICE . He was very sweetly stopping the show to make sure security helped a fan at the time so he got away with it.

  2. 22 cameras and I heard they interviewed fans too. Cameraman talks about seeing the final result of something - sounds like we’re getting a new concert film ❤️

  3. Thank you for this thread! First of all - I think the front row should be for the most dedicated fans, not for the richest. Period. And speaking of the actual Saviors tour in my opinion both VIP packages were just a scam. Every venue had a different number of VIP tickets, so it was like a lottery - in Berlin were too many VIPs and a lot of them didn’t get the barrier, but in Arnhem or Glasgow it was totally possible to be in the front row with regular GC ticket. So VIPs were still queuing for shows because they didn’t know what to expect. People with regular tickets also were queuing or even camping and ended up in second or third row. Actually at every show some VIPs from the front row (usually from the most expensive package) didn’t know a lot of songs and were singing only Basket Case and Boulevard Of Broken Dreams. So they were just rich people (not all of them of course). Also VIP merch was a joke - only tote bag is fine and useful. LP cover when a lot of people don’t have an LP player? Fingerboard? And my favorite - fucking fake guitar picks. We paid almost €300 and we didn’t even get real Green Day guitar picks. VIP host? Has anyone seen the VIP host? In Berlin people had a problem with tickets from the official resale site. In London people had problem with tickets scanning. Where was this VIP host? As I said before, if they want to sell VIP tickets - fine, go for it. But make it real VIP - very limited, so VIPs won’t need to queue and people with regular tickets still will have a chance to get the barrier.

  4. To be fair this can be the case further back in the crowd among non VIP ticket holders as well, plenty of people near me just outside the VIP range weren't moving (although plenty were as well). I think this was more common at these shows because they're at stadiums and also billed as being about seeing their two biggest albums played, percentage of more casual fans will be higher than usual. No one around me sang the new songs for example. Plus there's just always people who prefer to just stand and watch and it's pretty normal for people on the front row to move less in order to keep their spot. I don't think it's necessarily a VIP issue.

  5. I can’t believe the European leg of the tour is already over. It was great seeing them live again, even if it was only one show. It was a great tour and it seemed like there were only positive vibes. I really hope there’ll be another leg or a new European tour soon. I don’t want to wait for multiple years. It was also good to see that they’re apparently still able to sell out these massive venues. Numbers don’t matter but it’s still nice to know that so many people genuinely care for the band and their music.

  6. The video going around of Billie sitting on the stage at the end of Good Riddance soaking everything in absolutely just melts my heart everytime I see it 😭 Meanwhile Tre playing with the confetti like always like he’s 5 😂😂 (can’t blame him I would do the same shit)

  7. Billboard is truly making it impossible to see anything, but was finally able to get- still #1 on Canadian Rock, 3 on Alternative Airplay, and 4 on Rock and Alternative Airplay. Off of Mainstream Rock Airplay, although I think it was off of that last week as well.

  8. I have to say at Wembley there was one lady near the front of the VIP line (behind me) who queued less than everyone else but insisted she had to be let in first. She was constantly harassing the staff and was rude to all the other VIPs even those who'd camped. No Green Day spirit at all. She even told me to get out of one of the selfies she was taking I don't think this helped with how we were treated. Also all the VIPs around me were dedicated touring fans I've known for years (except this weird obnoxious lady).

  9. I completely agree that a band like Green Day shouldn't be selling overpriced VIP tickets and that it's unfair to price out fans who just can't afford to pay £250+ for a single ticket. It should be about devotion, not money, and there were definitely some rich, casual fans who bought VIPs and annoyed everyone filming at some shows (I didn't experience this but others have described it). However, I think it's important to say that not everyone who bought them was rich. I'm certainly not – I know people assume I must be because I've been to lots of shows (although it's 52, not hundreds as some assume) but I barely earn minimum wage as a freelance photographer and I often pay for my mum to go, not the other way around I used my savings to buy our Wembley tickets and Klarna to buy my Glasgow one because I hadn't been to any concerts other than the Coverups since 2019, so I wanted to be up front. Everyone I queued with in Glasgow and at Wembley was the same – devoted, working-class fans who saved up or took out loans to go to a few Green Day shows with VIP tickets instead of lots of concerts with GA tickets. A lot of people also bought these tickets because they're physically disabled or severely anxious, and they can't queue or run like others can, so this was their only chance to have a stress-free experience of getting front row. That was why I bought VIPs for my mum and me at Wembley – because she's disabled and can stand, but only if she can lean on the barrier. Ideally, disabled fans shouldn't have to pay £250 to access the same opportunities as more fortunate people, but we live in an ableist world and we just have to accept that, so my biggest issue isn't actually the sale of VIP tickets. It's what rip-offs they are. People bought them thinking they wouldn't have to queue, only to find out they would have to queue (or even camp out) because hundreds were sold and the Welcome to Paradise VIPs go in first. We were not given any information about numbers or who would go in first before buying them. And then there's how it all played out in reality. The merch was tacky garbage that very few people actually wanted. I've heard it all went well in Manchester, so we had high hopes about Glasgow, but... well. The VIP host arrived late and shrugged and snickered at our concerns about entry. We weren't exactly let in early. We were just let in before GA on our side of the park which meant they were right behind us, and when we got inside, Pen One (Jason's side) was already full of GA people from the other side of the park. Those people got early entry, not the VIPs, and the GA people behind us who ran faster got better spots in Pen Two. I was very, very fortunate that I got the exact spot I wanted and enjoyed the show, but I was one of the only VIPs who did. There was a disabled mum with her very anxious daughter who arrived before me and they must have been far out, because I never even saw where they ended up. This whole thing was also shit for the GA people behind the VIPs because they had us ahead of them and the other side didn't. I thought that was bad, but Wembley made it look organised. The VIP host didn't even show up. The venue staff were clueless about everything from how to scan tickets to where the stage was. Our information email clearly stated we'd be getting first entry: But we didn't because 60 Welcome to Paradise people went in first. Nothing happened at the time it was supposed to happen. Once we were led inside, some people never even received their merch packages. In Manchester the VIP host apparently arranged a calm, fair entrance with the venue staff, but the staff at Wembley did nothing whatsoever to ensure our safety and obviously there was no VIP host to help. We were all pushed on our way down the stairs, my mum had her walking stick knocked out of her hand by another VIP who arrived a long time after us, and a friend had a man stamping on her feet to get past her. I seriously doubt my mum would have had to leave after Dookie if she'd been treated better on the way in, but all she got was outright discrimination from the venue staff. I'm not posting any of this to get sympathy. I just want people to be aware of how badly all the VIPs (not just me) were let down at those two shows, and that in these particular cases, none of us were rich, casual fans who bought the tickets just because we could. For us, devotion looked like spending £250 of our hard-earned money to get up front (and we also camped out at Wembley, so yeah). Obviously being up front isn't guaranteed, but we hardly got any of the things that were guaranteed. There's a cost of living crisis in the UK right now and devoted British fans deserve better. tl;dr Even if you pay for these packages, they're rip-offs. There's no guarantee you'll even get any of the perks.

  13. Nothing better than Billie dancing! He had a couple of sexy moves at Wembley but don't remember when/what songs. Also at one point blew kisses to the crowd and then licked his finger and did a poking motion 😳 . Stood out because it's always been quite rare for him to do stuff like that at UK shows for some reason lol

  15. Yeah you'll have to be dehydrated unfortunately! There's no specific VIP area so you've got to get through GA and VIP people to get back in. I wasn't able to go back to my spot after leaving to check on my mum but that was fine because I expected it.

  16. I ended up about two rows from the front corner of the catwalk and contrary to what else I’ve seen here it was super, super rough - especially the first hour with dookie and no let up. We had a couple in front of us on the barrier who kept roughly shoving backwards, angry we were being shoved into them and trying to keep space between themselves and the barrier - don’t go on the barrier if you don’t want to be pushed into it! It was ridiculous. I also can’t fault the Wembley staff myself going from my own experience. Toward the end of whatsername my friend had to get out (very faint; potential heat stroke) I chose to go with her. The amazing girl next to us immediately alerted security and then everyone helped get my friend out and then I followed and the security and crowd around helped get me out too. Medics were waiting in front of the stage with a chair and then we were taken to the medic area beside the stage and treated really well, given water, offered whatever we needed. Maybe because it was at the end of the show but I couldn’t fault them. We did miss the end but did see the band come past us when they came off stage! And a nice medic gave us a guitar pic too. When my friend was comfortable leaving we asked the best way out without going through the masses and a security guard lead us back past all the trucks and out a side door so we wouldn’t have to go back into the heat. So yeah long story short I can’t fault the service I personally received from security or medics. Asides from all that incredible show! I think the heat just got a bit too much especially in our area and we had a few bad eggs around us which didn’t help, (apart from the girl who got security’s attention when I noticed my friend wasn’t well) but the band were on top form. Also so lovely to bump into @Hermione and her sister In line again! (This is Lorraine by the way I can’t remember which account I’m logged into lol) So glad to hear you guys got a good spot and had a good time!

  18. Here's a thread for us to discuss ticket prices and Green Day selling VIP tickets, since both things are big deals for fans who are used to cheaper tickets and no VIPs. Please feel free to share your thoughts on the ticket prices and anything you have to say about VIP tickets – whether you're against them, had a good experience with them, or bought them and felt ripped off. In the UK, VIP tickets were around £250 for the "Calling All Saviors" package and £475 for the "Welcome to Paradise" package. Prices were similar in the rest of Europe. For "Welcome to Paradise," ticketholders were supposed to receive: Backstage Tour Exclusive Lanyard One (1) Premium Ticket One (1) Exclusive Green Day Merch Package VIP Entrance and First/Early Entry to the Venue On Site VIP Host For "Calling All Saviors," ticketholders were supposed to receive: One (1) Premium Ticket One (1) Exclusive Green Day Merch Package VIP Entrance and First/Early Entry to the Venue On Site VIP Host

  19. The main issue with VIP packages, in my opinion, is that they are selling way too many. The easiest (and greedy) solution would be to say beforehand how many VIP tickets of each category are for sale. With that information (i) if you buy VIP tickets, you will know if you still have to queue or not to get a good spot on the barricade, (ii) if you don't have VIP tickets you will know if it's worth it for you to queue or not, because you will know if you have a shot or not at being in the barricade depending on the number of early entry VIPs. The best and more fair solution, again in my opinion, is to make it truly VIP. Sell way less VIP tickets, and put them behind a pre-sales link. I think something like they did for the pre-sale for the US would be enough, make the link accessible for people signed up for a news letter and that's it. Like that you limit their sale to more dedicated fans, and because they are fewer, many people who are capable of queueing for hours (and that do so even with VIP tickets) might choose to buy normal tickets if they know that having VIP is not the only way to get a good spot on the barricade. And by limiting their number, the VIP tickets might also sell out quite faster. Because the main problem in the two shows in France at least, I think, was that the regular tickets (both pit and seats) were completely sold out weeks before any of the VIP packages were. So people who were casual listeners that found out late or decided late to go to the show, only found VIP tickets available and went for that. I already posted a long rant about this issue in the European tour thread, but basically I had two very different experiences with the crowd in Lyon vs in Paris largely because of the VIPs. At Lyon there were people in the VIP queue who arrived before I did at 6:30AM for the regular queue. There were people queueing from 8AM with regular tickets in Lyon who had VIP tickets for Paris and so on. These are people who are obviously dedicated and if they want to spend extra to be more relaxed on the day of the show, that's great. But it should be a choice, not a necessity for guaranteeing that you have a good front row spot. But the VIPs around me during the concert in Paris did not at all fall within this category, they hardly knew any songs, they didn't engage with the concert at all (no jumping or waving their arms when prompted), one of them was just recording on her phone the majority of the time, another told me off for "leaning on him" when I was waving my arms from side to side at some point, etc. While the people behind me (many of whom I had met during the regular queue) were all super engaged and enjoying so much. So it is hugely unfair that these people who queued for more than 10 hours are stuck in 3rd row behind a bunch of people who showed up an hour before doors and are not as invested on the show. And ultimately, it also creates a very hostile environment, even between hardcore fans, among VIP vs non-VIP, because then VIPs who paid triple the price and also queued for hours feel very protective (almost paranoid) about other people trying to get their spot, and understandably so to some extent.

  20. I agree that the song right before they go on should change every tour. That’s what many artists do — they pick a different one that relates to the tour they’re on. That said, the Imperial March opener/video they’re playing now is so freaking cool. Re: Good Riddance, my mom would riot if they ever ditched it so I can’t support replacing it. I really like that tradition, too. I think it’s kinda cool that no matter what, that’s what they end with. It’s the perfect closer. I am a HUGE Brutal Love fan, but when they closed with that on the Trilogy tour, it felt like something was missing.

  21. Agreed. Never been a Queen fan and this is over-played. I can understand that just about everyone the word knows lyrics though.

  22. I don't dislike the song or anything but I do feel it's overdone at this point. They used to regularly change the opening song and I think it'd be nice to have a different one to associate with each tour if nothing else. I absolutely loved Do You Remember Rock and Roll Radio? Late but totally agree! Forever Now then Brutal Love would be the dream for me, but I met someone in Lyon who was disappointed because the 2013 Emirates Stadium show was his first and he got Brutal Love but no Good Riddance. I remember a lot of others complaining about that back then too. Crazy to me because it's never been my favourite Green Day song anyway, but there are obviously enough people who desperately want to hear it to justify them not retiring it.

  23. It was the case at every show. A lot of people in the front row were just standing, not singing, not dancing. And at the same time dedicated touring fans were in the seconds or third row. Or even far behind, because some of them gave up on queuing because of the VIPs.

  24. Gig was amazing, the guys smash it every time, as do the fans!!!! Looking forward to seeing what comes from the footage taken!! Wembley needs to do better though. Personally, and my experience as a disabled customer some of the stewards completely sh**ted on my experience and I found some of them so degrading. I have had to begrudgingly pick up my merch from scalpers and resellers online but hey-ho, it is what it is!

  25. lol yes it was deffo an experience! Could see all their signage and little walkways, and the one eye bastard guy is on everything haha i could still hear everything! Though I do wish they’d used the saviors confetti sooner instead of the plain green one lol cause I’d have deffo saved some of that and ended up missing the saviors one

  26. There is no shame in enjoying a concert, however your enjoyment might look! As long as you are not harming the people around you, singing along, screaming, jumping, dancing, crying, laughing, all of it is fair game. I actually love it when the people around me are like this because it just brings the energy level even higher and makes the experience so much more enjoyable. ☺️

  27. Unbelievable evening. As a show, I think maybe the BIAB Milton Keynes Bowl show probably pipped it just because they weren't rattling through two full albums and there was more time for BJA to interact with the crowd that day, but I never thought I'd get to see the band play Dookie and AI front-to-back again. To be in the Golden Circle literally meters away from the band and NOT feeling like I'm going to die standing up was amazing for a change. What an experience.

  29. And you! So happy I finally got to meet you Hope it won't be too long until next time! I really feel it was worth it all to enjoy Dookie with my mum, and there was actually a great atmosphere where I ended up, so it's all good but thank you 💚 I'm so glad I came to Lyon and met you too! I'm glad the staff were nice to someone! It seems they're just stuck in the past when it comes to disability. Most of the concourse staff were lovely while we were queuing though, especially the supervisor Diane – shoutout to her!

  30. I personally love when people around me are letting loose singing/shouting/screaming like that. I was glad a few people around me were really getting into it that way because it made it more acceptable for me to do it too and it just generally improves the atmosphere. Me and my sister were getting excited and singing everything and this guy behind us was yelling the lyrics too and we were like hell yeah. Like it's also totally fine to just stay quiet and watch (and I've done so on many occasions) but if everyone does that the whole time the atmosphere isn't as good. One thing I really enjoyed about the crowd is it didn't seem like there was judgement going on either way, there were people jumping around going crazy, people staying still filming and everything in between, but there was space for everyone to do their thing and no dirty looks or drama and everyone could enjoy it their way. No one ever tried to unfairly push in front of us the whole show either which is unprecedented. There's been way rougher GD crowds in the past, people just getting into it and singing along and doing a bit of fangirl screaming is nothing outrageous and should be expected imo. I think as long as you're not harming anyone it's fine to just be as feral or non feral as you feel at the time!

  31. So I'm going to add further ramblings about my experience. I'm sad because some people didn't have a great experience with the Wembley staff. Everyone I spoke to was helpful and polite. The only annoying they did, was to say on the website that you could take in a bottle, and then at the entrance took them off you! 🙄 I found the organisation other than this to be great. The queues I encountered were minimal and moved quick, and I felt very safe in the crowd on the way back to tube because they controlled it well. Security even asked us if we were happy with our spot just before GD came, and then said if we weren't they had more space in the other side of the pit! (Next time I might try to stand Jason's side for a change!) We had front pitch standing tickets, but didn't actually enter the pit until Nothing But Thieves. (I have to admit, I wasn't particularly blown away by them!)😬 We got a spot on Mike's side, roughly in line with the big screen, nearish the front. We had space around us to jump and dance, which was what we wanted. We had a great view until AI, when some tall men pushed infront. I mean we could still see, but not as well and I found them mostly annoying because of how they were messing around. It was quite funny though, because when I was singing the "Nobody likes you" beginning of "Letterbomb", one of them turned around and was conducting me!😆 One thing that I noticed was how much more room was available in the pit on the other side. Before GD, one of the people I went with went to the loo. Security made them walk right around the stadium, and enter the pit from Jason's side. Once they got back to us, they said they could see the Dookie plane. So off we marched so I could get a peek at it just incase it didn't make it around the whole pit!lol! 😆 With only about 15mins before GD came on, the very front corner barrier was still available! I was tempted, but because it was a side on view, I knew I would not be able to see Tre or the stage artwork. Watching this whole show was so special. The stage backdrops just set the scene perfectly, and the pyro and lights were spectacular. What I also absorbed though, was watching the musicianship of the guys. It was fascinating watching them, and sometimes I think you kind of forget about it until you witness it. Man, Tre was like a machine!😍 I think the other thing that struck me, was how much fun the guy's were having. You could just tell.🥰 It really made me feel happy watching that. I made an observation about myself at this gig too. At all the other gigs I go too, I sing along. At GD, for some reason I am completely feral and just lose it! I was screaming like I was at a 1D concert or something! When they appeared on stage I let out ear piercing shrieks, and the guy in front turned around and joked about his ears! I did have to say sorry and he laughed!🤣 But I was like it the whole way through. I couldn't just sing along, I was just screaming and shouting the lyrics! I've been trying to figure out why? I think a lot of it was excitement, and knowing that I won't get to see the guys until the next tour. I also think it's because I want them to feel and hear my love for the band. I suppose it's a bit of validation, both ways. I do feel a bit embarrassed now thinking back to how I behaved, and I feel a bit sorry for the people standing near me!😆 (Someone I went with did make some comments to me after the show, in jest, about how I was a weirdo for how I behaved, but it has stuck a bit. Tbh I'm a bit emotional at the moment.) But I have made a promise to myself, that next time I get to see the boys, I am not going to behave so feral. I will not scream, but singalong nicely and I will behave like the grown up woman I am, or in the very least try too!😉 Please come back soon GD! I miss you already.🥰

  32. I came to check no one was camping for VIP the night before the show, thinking no one was that crazy... and I was the 5th arrival! So I rolled out my sleeping bag and slept there. It was actually an easy camp because it wasn't too cold. This was my first show since 2019 with my mum (our favourite fairytale villain, Rumpelstiltskin). She'd hardly left the house in that time because of a leg injury and she has arthritis anyway, so she's able to stand but only if she can lean on something, which is why I was willing to camp to make sure she had the barrier to lean on. I got us our spots in front of Mike and we had the best time dancing to Dookie. I was so happy to see my mum's face light up. Billie kept smiling at us too. Sadly we'd just been standing too long though and my mum had to give up during All By Myself. She went to look for somewhere to sit and told me to stay, but I was worrying too much, so I left my spot to look for her after Dilemma. The staff were fucking useless - they laughed and eventually just turned their backs. I apologise to Bellahouston Park for insulting their concert hosting skills because Wembley was 1000x worse. I couldn't find her, the staff wouldn't help me and calls were going to voicemail so I tried to get back to my spot and ended up about 10th row from the end of the catwalk which, honestly, was pretty great considering I have no experience of trying to get back in. I had a good view of Billie when he was on the catwalk and enjoyed the rest of the show in a much less toxic atmosphere than there was with all the VIPs on the front row (and I include myself in that description because every hardcore fan I've ever met can be like that at times). It was actually a lot of fun dancing, jumping and occasionally losing my footing with a load of strangers who were just there to enjoy the show wherever they were. Staff continued to be absolutely useless and dismissive after the show but other fans helped me find my mum. Massive shoutout to Hermione for trying so hard to get us reunited. Turned out my mum was taken to the medical room (when staff told me she wasn't), offered a spot with a view of the wall, laughed at for buying a standing ticket, then told there was nowhere she could go but the spot staring at the wall, even though there were loads of empty seats right there. She ended up sitting on a rock outside, since it was the only place she could sit, where she vaguely heard a few songs and the general sound of the crowd. Before we went I emailed the stadium about accessible options and they actually told me she could get a seat on the day of the show if she needed it, so... fuck Wembley Stadium. Love Green Day though and spending any time enjoying our favourite band with my wonderful mum is always the best thing ever 💖 She enjoyed Dookie and it was lovely seeing Billie recognise her so even buying her the VIP was worth it.

  33. That was the plan but I guess we’ll know when the US tour starts. Don’t get me wrong I hope Jason is recovered, but Coley has been beyond appreciative and so thrilled to have this gig I kind of would like him to stay. I don’t miss the sax solos at all, they were getting old.

  36. I have Mega Evolved into Mega Fangirl over Billie taking my flag. That thing has been with me since the Paris show in 2010. It's been to all kinds of places but its most exciting adventure was definitely Costa Rica where it made it onto TV. Framing it has flag shagger vibes, but I think I'm going to have to retire it and frame it with photos some of Billie holding it.

  38. This show was possibly my favourite of the tour so far, although only by a tiny margin because the other two were so good. Where I was, everyone was singing, jumping and dancing. The band were really into it. Billie's voice was definitely hoarse yet he still sounded great. I was like, "how is that even possible?!" He's a total pro. While Tre was singing All By Myself, Billie was holding the Scottish flag up at the side of the stage (and then securing it as his cape), which was sweet. The fan who played Dilemma was great. I'm not that into fans doing anything more than Know Your Enemy, but that was just a lovely moment in general. He was so happy and we were all impressed, including Billie! Hard to choose a highlight but it was probably The American Dream Is Killing Me or One Eyed Bastard. I was so happy to be there seeing them again when they came onstage and I'm always that happy to hear One Eyed Bastard. On the way to the train station the day after the show, my friend and I went camera shopping and on the radio I heard the presenter saying "so you know what was the biggest gig of the year in Scotland? No, it wasn't Taylor Swift. It was Green Day!" They were gushing about how great it was. My phone pics are shit, but I'll share some anyway. I've got loads more photos of the fans onstage if they ever see this and want them. It definitely wasn't sold – it was a first come, first serve thing that was split in half, and no-one really knew about it until they saw maps of the park for the show. The VIPs only had access to Mike's side, but GA had access to both. It was a bit of a shitfest and the VIPs were ripped off in several ways, but I'll save that for another post.

  39. I think Good Riddance really needs to take a back seat. It has to be THE most overplayed Green Day song live and I'm tired of it as a closer. They should find something else to replace it, at least for a time, like they did with Brutal Love during the Trilogy.
