Didn't have time yesterday. So 2 years ago yesterday (16 June 2022), Green Day played Firenze Rocks on the Hella Mega Tour. More photos: I like Billie's shirt. 11 years ago yesterday (16 June 2013), Green Day played Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands. More photos: 14 years ago yesterday (16 June 2010), Green Day played in Manchester, England on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. This was my first show on the front row. I was right out by the screen, but still. Amazing experience and show. 15 year-old me was very touched when Billie recognised me and pointed even though he'd only seen me from a distance before. More photos: 22 years ago yesterday (16 June 2002), Green Day played in Milwaukee, WI on the Pop Disaster Tour. OK, that's yesterday out of the way. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On this day 7 years ago (17 June 2017), Green Day played Nova Rock Festival on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: 22 years ago (17 June 2002), Green Day played in Minneapolis, MN on the Pop Disaster Tour. 23 years ago (17 June 2001), they played in St. Paul, MN on the Warning Tour. And 31 years ago (17 June 1993), they played the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, CA.5 points

It was an amazing show. I'm speechless. It was the best live show I've seen since 2009. The setlist and energy were incredible, and there was great interaction with the 80k crowd. The guys love playing together, and it shows. (The organization still sucked – from the wheelchair platform, I wasn't allowed anywhere else, i.e., I couldn't buy merch by myself and had to send someone to buy the scarf/beer/etc. But still.)4 points

that's just because it was already on there, i would assume they'd use the same for the AI anniversary and they unblocked it now which shows it there. eventually i have no doubt it'll be on the deluxe AI and I hope this means we'll get some news about that soon!!!!!!!!!!3 points

Today would be a cool day to drop "Father to a Son" as a single. Or to play it at a show. Oh well.3 points

Just a picture I liked from Germany that I hadn't seen posted yet. Was originally a story on this IG account.3 points

For me, it's the blond that ages him. It just doesn't look natural and fades him out.2 points

I loved the black hair but think it’s time has passed, it will age him now. I like the dirty blonde with dark roots. 😍2 points

On this day 2 years ago (15 June 2022), Green Day played the I-Days Festival in Italy on the Hella Mega Tour. More photos: 7 years ago (2017), they played the I-Days Festival on the RevRad Tour. More photos: 33 years ago (1991), Green Day played Toe Jam in Long Beach, CA.2 points

On this day 6 years ago (13 June 2018), The Longshot played in Vancouver, Canada. This is still my favourite concert photo I've ever taken. I also used it on the Longshot tour shirt I designed. More photos from this show: 14 years ago (2010), Green Day played Holiday and Know Your Enemy with the American Idiot cast at the Tony Awards in NYC. More photos: 23 years ago (2001), Green Day played Waiting on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.2 points

Excuse me? Hahaha. Speak for yourself, I'm happy with the full Dookie and the full AI. 15 year old me dreamed of this and would have never thought it'd become a reality, and my 30 something old self is channeling her now, so I'm here for it and cannot get enough of it. I'm already coming down with the blues just thinking tomorrow is possibly the last time I'll hear AI in full live. Sure I'd love a tour with a lot of their other albums (as far as I'm concerned they could mostly skip the trilogy), but this tour is amazing and we gotta enjoy it because I doubt they'll ever do this again.1 point

Fall Out Boy broke their setlist up into sections for every album they have, even the hated ones. This is peak concert form. enough with the anniversaries already. Maybe after this time, Green Day could shift to 5 Dookie hits, 5 Idiots hits, and then 1-2 hits from each era and then a deep cut or two. Maybe Billie will even realize St Jimmy and King for a Day aren't that deep, lol. All the big hits from each album and a 39/Smooth song. Boom. I'll even allow Welcome to Paradise to count as a Kerplunk track. Father of all and 99 Revolutions are Billie's favorites so he wouldn't have to revisit any traumatizing songs.1 point

https://www.rollingstone.it/musica/live/i-green-day-agli-i-days-di-milano-dicervellati-dalla-parte-giusta-della-storia/919622/ Excellent review by Rolling Stone Italy. It mentions that 78.500 people were in the crowd (and that would be a record for them – but I wouldn't be sure about this last piece of information). The setlist included Minority and Bobby Sox, which they didn't play due to the curfew.1 point

I had the same impression, Billie (and all the boys) are in fantastic condition and seemed younger, it's not only the hair I guess (although I have become a fan of the blonde, it took a while😆). Also, I don't know what he did with his voice, but he sounds stunning, better than the last two tours, maybe even the best I've ever heard him since 2010. I think they are in a really good place right now, they have fun and they love it and you can feel that every single minute of the show. I've been to 3 shows so far, 1 still coming up, and this is already one of my (or the?) favorite tour.1 point

Maybe he'll change to black on the US leg? On the 21CB Tour it was blonde/black/blonde/black so maybe?1 point

A 2 hour biography about Billie. It's not perfect, but I put a ton of time and effort into it, and really tried to get some details on the condom/desecrated youth/ blood rage days. And while talking Green Day is unavoidable in this story, I tried to focus on other aspects as much as possible. there we go.1 point

Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Holiday also on US Spotify now as separate singles with their original artwork.1 point

I was wondering that too but then why would it be released as part of a single for 21 Guns which is 21CB era? Hopefully they release it on a new deluxe AI version too. This one of the best one off songs they’ve ever done1 point

I wonder if this could be in preperation for the AI 20th anniversary later this year, makes sense to me. Very happy about this1 point

Thanks, t’was a great night. No I mean I was following along, especially on GDC, but they didn’t come to Switzerland at the time and for various reasons it was hard for me to travel during 2022; plus the whole album tour cycle was not my favourite, not least a very rigid and unsatisfying setlist. Have to say, it feels really good that I see them now again, promoting an album I really like (they played OEB btw!) Crazy thing is, Billie almost seems younger now, than 7 years ago, madness… might be the hair. I think they’re definitely playing a “reduced” setlist for festivals. From what I can tell this entails only playing AI in full, though they missed out Extraordinary Girl and only 1-2 deepcuts plus Dookie hits. Add to that a handful Saviours songs (we got TADIKM, LMNB, Dilemma and OEB), Minority, Hitchin a Ride, Brain Stew and Good Riddance, and bob’s your uncle. I have a feeling at proper gigs, they’ll play Dookie and AI in full, like they did in Hamburg most recently. But it was fabulous, Billie actually cracked a bunch of jokes, he seemed to be in a really good mood. Also, they forgot to play When I Come Around, so shortly before the end he goes “oh shit we forgot to play it” and they play it and Good Riddance right after Can’t describe how great it was to hear the likes of In the End, FOD, Give Me Novacaine, Whatsername and fucking Homecoming. Can’t complain about She’s a Rebel either and the last two times I saw them they didn’t play Brain Stew, Welcome To Paradise or WMUWSE either. Good stuff. I think Extraordinary Girl was a deliberate omission from their setlist, for timing reasons. That’s a bit sad, but I will be seeing them again in Glasgow, so that’s fine.1 point

I remember this story from the tour! But, I never knew that this friend was Xkid or that the suicide was that close to a GD event. With these types of things you never know.. was it the story? Was he holding off to see GD one more time?1 point
-
What?! I'm getting so confused by the flip-flopping of the setlist! I suppose it depends on if it's a festival or a pure GD show, but I'm still getting nervous about the Wembley setlist. I NEED to hear some Saviours songs!!😬😅🤞1 point

The Rock In Park show was recorded and if I remember correctly it was 2h 10-15m, so they definitely had the time and still played a lot less songs (in Madrid they also finished 5m early and still got the 2 albums). Nova Rock schedule was also 2h 20m.1 point
-
They are not playing 2h 20min at the festival shows, at least the last couple of shows. I was at Rock Im Park and the set was less than 2 hours (they finished early, which did confuse many people). I thought it had something to do with technical difficulties because there were some issues with the sound and also the screens. But the Nova Rock setlist looks pretty much the same. I don't know the reason, maybe saving energy for the album shows? Because those have been on 🔥1 point
-
Setlists keep getting shorter and shorter, which is super weird. Yeah I know what you are going to say, non album shows, but so far they have been scheduled to play 2h 20m as in any other shows and still they played 9 less songs in Nova Rock than in Madrid which was also a festival, so they proved they can do it. 9 songs is almost 45m worth of music, where is that time going? I refuse to believe they are inserting 45m worth of eeoos, speeches and so on.1 point

On this day 5 years ago (12 June 2019), The Longshot played in LA. 7 years ago (2017), Green Day played Luxembourg on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: The Revolution Radio music video was also released that day. If I'd seen it before I've forgotten. It was filmed at 924 Gliman Street and combined with old footage of Green Day playing there. 14 years ago (2010), Green Day played Nova Rock Festival in Nickelsdorf, Austria on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. 19 years ago (2005), they played Nova Rock on the American Idiot Tour. 22 years ago (2002), they played in Cuyahoga Falls, OH on the Pop Disaster Tour. They also played that venue on the RevRad and Dookie tours. 30 years ago (1994), they played the 91X Sunfest in San Diego, CA on the Dookie Tour.1 point

That’s the true VIP. That’s fair to both sides. The VIP this tour is just a scam. Even if you have it you still need to queue, cause showing up just at the doors time won’t give you a good spot (a lot of VIPs didn’t get the barricade in Berlin). If it would be like €10 or €20 more than a regular pit ticket - fine. But the price difference is actually really big and VIPs are just fucking expensive. The barricade should be for the most dedicated fans, not just for the richest.1 point
-
That sucks! It was similar in Lyon, and I find it really unfair that fans that have the commitment to queue for more than 12 hours are being priced out of getting a good spot in the barricade. You wanna sell VIP tickets? Fine, sell them, but make it truly VIP and sell only a few so that people who queue also have a fair chance. Or just make a new more expensive section at the front of the stage, a VIP circle if you will, but at least like that you don't give people the hope of getting to the barricade by queueing from the morning, because that is truly disappointing when after all that, you still cannot get to the front row, or if you do you have to be super far from where the band actually is and stuck in front of a screen instead.1 point
