Idk, they sound great to me and they’re playing their two most iconic albums at most tour stops in addition to other wonderful old and new songs. I seriously have been loving the setlist most shows so far. The shows are still really long and their energy still seems fantastic. IMO, watching Billie performing sober is a more pleasant experience on every level — you can see him enjoying being in the moment and there are no rants/outbursts that tended to happen on the 21CB tour. And “less interaction” — they’re definitely playing straight through songs more than they used to, but I personally love that. At one point years ago, it seriously felt like they’d stop in the middle of every single song and that’s just not necessary. From what I’ve seen, they’re still engaging with the crowd, but in a way that’s less disruptive of the performances, and as an audience member I definitely appreciate that.10 points

^ These are all great points, the next tour that's not specifically an anniversary tour might look a little different again. Or it might not, but the most important thing to me is that they seem to enjoy playing these shows so much and have lots of energy & want to play 2,5 hour shows still. Though I have to say I wish Billie would talk a little bit more haha, I do miss that.7 points

back and almost alive from rock am ring festival and i loved it, every gd show is great but this show was one of their best i got to see, they sounded on fire! but at the same time i was very very sad they didnt play dookie in full ... and didnt play their full 2h20m set if i remember correctly billie said something like "we will be back soon enough" ... could he refer to a proper arena show tour in 2025 ? they didnt do sth like this in germany since 2017, i really hope they dodge the festivals and do solo shows here again6 points

I can confirm too, I loved that they added Bobby Sox at the end, it sounded so great live! And then Billie said he has to make the curfew and sped up some parts of Time of Your Life 😆 But what a dream come true to hear AI in full I'm so so happy I got to be at this show (even though it rained the whole time and I wasn't at the front), one of my favourite Green Day memories now for sure6 points

I love the interaction stuff and never get sick of it. I would legitimately choose extended KFAD/Shout over Dookie in full at these shows (since I already saw Dookie in full in 2013, if I hadn't I wouldn't as I'm not that crazy) . But I understand it must be sacrificed for playing two albums in full and it's worth the trade off. Plus like you said Billie always finds ways to engage with the crowd anyway, doesn't really matter either way as he's such a master of connecting with the crowd you feel engaged with him every moment of any show!5 points

"That's the first hip of the tour": Something you would read only in the fangirl thread Love it Side note I think these pants are new? He's already had a few different pants this tour! I like the variety5 points

They're also specifically playing straight through songs more on this tour because they're playing through two complete albums, 1. to fit all the songs in, 2. because it's more fitting to perform whole albums that way and 3. because as a result of playing a lot of songs they don't usually play they're playing fewer songs that have specific traditional crowd interaction/doing extra stuff moments5 points

On the way back to the hotel right now from the show. It was really wonderful! Similar setlist to Lyon, except no One Eyed Bastard in this one, and Bobby Sox before Good riddance rather than between the albums. The rest I think was unchanged. Other thing that was different, was no Dookie background during that part of the set I was a bit saddened by this because as I was going to be further back this time, I was hoping to fully appreciate the stage decoration. Billie stopped the show for a minute after she to make sure someone in the crowd got help. I feel something happened during When I Come Around too, but I forget what. The highlight of the show: they brought a girl on stage to play the guitar during Good Riddance, she did a good job but missed a few things... She was playing with the guitar behind her head the whole time - maybe something to do with being left handed and playing with a normal guitar? No idea, maybe guitar players in the group might say. Anyways, it was perfect really, even if she missed a couple notes, because you could see she was so in the moment, and Billie got to sit down on the floor and sing from there. And then the rest of the band came and they all hugged with her, Trè asked her name and then made the crowd chant her name, and then threw a bucket full of confeti on her head 😂 I think we all had the time of our life, but this girl even more so. I was so emotional for her, and I hope there will be pictures soon so you see what I mean. It was really muddy! It was raining all day basically since yesterday. During the show we just had like 10 minutes of rain, but still, with all the mud it was a bit tough to jump around without splashing a tone or slipping. I do think at the front maybe it was a bit tough because a couple of times Billie asked people to make space and pull back a bit I think. I was at the back of the golden circle and while I was basically the only one around singing every song of Dookie, and not just the hits, I do think everyone knew American Idiot in full.4 points

On this day 2 years ago (2022), Green Day played Stockholm, Sweden on the Hella Mega Tour. More photos: Thanks to Rumpel for screenshotting all those Instagram stories in 2022 because I was totally out of the loop then. 6 years ago (2018), The Longshot played Bellingham, WA. Photo by lightboxgallery 7 years ago (2017), Green Day played Download Festival in France. Photo by Ronan Thenady. That is a very nice shot, I must say. 14 years ago (2010), Green Day played in Munich, Germany on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. More photos: I got some red trousers like those and wore them to death back in that era. I wasn't the only one either 19 years ago (2005), Green Day played the Heineken Jammin' Festival on the American Idiot Tour. More photos: 22 years ago (2022), Green Day played in Auburn Hills, MI on the Pop Disaster Tour. 30 years ago (1994), Green Day played the KROQ Weenie Roast in Irvine, CA. There's footage of the show on YouTube. And 35 years ago (1989), Green Day played with Screeching Weasel, the Mr. T. Experience, Stikky and Preachers That Lie at 555 Fulton Street in San Francisco.4 points

I met him before at a Prima Donna show (where they were support and there were literally only six of us there to see them or who even bothered to stand by the stage lmao) and he's super nice, glad for him that he gets to also be in GD now! I'd probably also be too shy to speak to him if I was by myself but it's fun just to see any of these guys anyway.4 points

Yes @Hermione all very good points! And I feel like a lot of us were getting a bit tired of the more interaction-heavy songs anyway, so I really appreciate the changes they’ve made to the setlist this time both for squeezing more songs in and to freshen things up.4 points

I say put Fancy Sauce in place of Minority and make KYE a rotating Saviors song. More diehards would go to more shows if they knew there would be some changes.4 points

People, the show in Hamburg today was SICK! Just got back. Billie brought a fan on stage to play guitar during Good Riddance, and she played the whole song with the guitar on her back (over the head like Billie does sometimes), he sat down on stage to sing and she played, it was mindblowing. I would write more, but I’m dead. Definitely one of my fav GD shows of all time. I have now seen 3 shows of this tour so far and the boys are in excellent shape, Billie sounds absolutely amazing, better than during Hella Mega. You can all look forward to this even though it is a bit different than „classic“ GD show. I love my boys! So so happy.3 points

Complete show was absolute 10/10. They‘re such a tight band (that bass!) and I liked how they just went through the set without too many hey-hos or extended songs. Crowd was okay in my opinion. Not too bad (got better the more the show progressed) but Dookie seems to be more unknown than I thought if you exclude the hits of course. But this is something we‘ve now seen throughout the whole tour. You forget during the show how special this setlist is. I‘ve never imagined hearing Having A Blast, Chump, Pulling Teeth or She‘s A Rebel, Homecoming or Whatsername live. Also, 36 songs in total is special and something you don‘t see many bands do.3 points

I had a great time at their Rock am Ring gig and it didn’t seem like they were slowing down. On the contrary, powering through some of the songs gave the whole show even more energy. There was still plenty of crowd interaction but I actually don’t mind less Hey-Oh‘s. I’d rather hear a few more deep cuts instead. I truly think it was a special night. It definitely was for me. Of course they’re getting older, but I don’t think it’s affecting their shows negatively. Billie sounded great, they clearly had a great time on stage and the atmosphere in the audience was also amazing. I only heard and read positive reactions after their performance so I think we should be glad that they’re still performing on such a high level.2 points

I'm so sorry that happened! The VIP thing is getting ridiculous. On the RevRad Tour, it was a bit shit, but I didn't really care because it was totally possible to get a decent spot by queuing early. Now they're hardly even VIP tickets – they're just the best tickets, like an upgrade from golden circle, because there are so many of them. Some disabled people buy them because they can't queue, but can stand as long as they can lean on the barrier, but they wouldn't be able to in a situation like this. I'm really not impressed with a band like Green Day doing this.2 points
-
The organization of this show was a big mess. They sold too many VIPs, a lot of them ended up in the second or even third row. It was impossible to get the barrier without VIP ticket (unless by pushing). Also a lot of people bought GC tickets (more expensive than GA tickets), but the venue didn’t have golden circle area. The show itself was really great, but also really quick. I mean the played a lot of songs, but interaction with the crowd was minimal (for Green Day standards of course)2 points

Is it just me or does it seem like people complain no matter what they do? Lol. Everyone's allowed to have opinions and that's totally fine, but I think we should be more grateful they're doing something as cool as performing their two most popular albums in full. I'm so excited to see it! I'm also just glad they're touring in general, and from what I can tell, seem to be happy and healthy2 points

Right?!! I feel that if in a "normal" tour we got any one of those songs (and so many others! Coming clean, FOD, All by myself, Novacaine, Extraordinary Girl, etc) we'd be over the moon. Here it's so many of them that as you say, we forget what a privilege it is to be getting each of them individually. And American Idiot in full and in order, it was my teenage dream. It's still hard for me to wrap my head around it and I get so emotional with it.1 point

Maybe it depends on venue, cause as far as I know in Lyon it was possible to get the barrier with the regular ticket. But yes, it’s not the actual VIP package anymore, just overpriced early entrance tickets.1 point
-
I can only speak for the Lyon show so far, but the crowd was pretty amazing! Not too tough, but definitely very into the show, singing along to every single song, jumping when Billie asked them too, turning on their phone's flash lights when asked, doing the hey-ohs, etc. That said, this is my first concert of this size in Europe, so I don't have a lot to compare to, and I was in the front row, meaning that anyone near to me had queued for hours or paid for VIP, both signaling a high level of commitment. The other thing that I found interesting and loved about the crowd was the wide range of ages, I'm in my 30s, and yet I saw people at least 15 years younger than me as well as people 15 - 20 years older and more. It really says something about the band that they have managed to keep older fans engaged for decades, while still appealing to younger audiences.1 point
