  1. Hot take: Retire Good Riddance as the closer. Close each show with "Fancy Sauce."

  2. Okay this kind of outraged me: “One moment, Armstrong feigns shock, eyes wide and mouth agape; the next he bares his teeth in a crazed grin; at melodramatic moments, he even sheds mock tears, as he did at the climax of “Jesus of Suburbia.” It’s a tactic that’s silly, but undeniably charming. Armstrong’s star power comes partly from his unpredictability — no one quite knows what face he’ll show next” Is there anyone that really thinks that emotion is fake?! That’s an insult to the way he is always leaving it all out on the stage. No way he’s faking that. I think he got choked up during three songs last night and it was all 100% raw emotion

  3. The guy was presumptuous and incorrect saying "lol he's not getting emotional lol". Billie was cordial enough to say "it's fine" in his second comment. He doesn't need to apologise for calling out a stupid comment as stupid just because they guy apologised for making it. OMG I just watched Fancy Sauce from this and it was glorious! Really hope they'll play it on the tour

  5. Yeah he just set things straight and asked people to stop talking shit, pretty reasonable. Avoided going into rant mode lol

  6. Agree. Generally, I think it’s better to not engage at all with negative comments (and that goes for everyone, famous or not). But there are countless examples of how people spread shit on social media and others start to take it as fact. The talk of “Did he lose his voice? Will he not be able to sing on tour? Was he emotional? Why was he emotional?” is the kind of thing that can spin out of control quickly and it’s not wrong to shut that talk down.

  9. When I saw them on Hella Mega they finished with All the Young Dudes after Good Riddance - can't see any reason they couldn't do the same with FS!

  10. I agree. Fancy sauce is a very good closing for the shows. I absolutely love Fancy Sauce live.

  11. I would love if they just decided to say screw it and play Dookie, Saviors, and finish with AI on the Saviors tour. Now that would be an insane show.

  19. How long did Green Day play? Saviors is 46 minutes versus Dookie's 39 minutes. If they can play Idiot and Saviors in full in a reasonable amount of time, then they should be able to do Dookie, Idiot and then 5 Savior songs and then maybe 5 big hits.......they are testing the waters, gearing up for the shows now. Maybe they are seeing if a three-album show is possible. 2.5 hours is enough time to rip-roar through all three albums and still take breaks, do some eh-ohing and then bounce. Dookie and Idiot include most of the 'must play' hits but they could throw in 21 Guns and Good Riddance if there was time. I think it's possible. The Saving Idiots From Dookie Tour!

  22. I so agree with you about that review, but put it down to being written by someone who thinks they know this band and Billie but don’t really. We know he genuinely gets emotional and I was surprised and delighted by his responses on the IG post.

  28. And yes, I may get blasted for speculating about this so early but hear me out. The Oakland A’s announced they’re officially leaving Oakland after this season, moving to a temporary home in Sacramento for the 2025-27 seasons before they officially move to Las Vegas in 2028, so that got me thinking. 2028 will most definitely be the year we get Green Day’s Album 15!!! I know Billie is most likely devastated about losing the A’s so could Album 15 be a tribute to them? What if the album is called “Rooted in Oakland”?

  29. If this is not worth a thread feel free to close. The band is starting a new collaboration with Rock Roll Repeat. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqyNuOypXxI/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= https://www.instagram.com/reel/CqvaBzUgJpF/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Personally I find their stuff really cool and fairly priced. Looking forward to see the designs they came up with, might spend some money here. Could be more interesting then the previous collab from a few months ago. Check their website here: https://rockrollrepeatforever.com

  31. and the concerns about billie losing his voice are real and it's been subject of talking for years
    1 point
  32. Eh, normally I defend Billie when he goes off online, but this is one of the few times I think the other person comes off looking better. They weren't coming from a place of malice and apologized. Billie not then apologizing for his you're stupid comment just looks childish to me.

  33. The poor guy can't catch a break! Well called out. Also I didn't realise it was 19 years since they last played AI in full! Assumed they'd done it a few times since AI era. That really will be special to see then. No it's not. This is a small show/not the main tour so you can't judge by it. There's a very high likelihood that it will "just" be Dookie and AI along with a couple songs off Saviors and some hits. If they did play Saviors it would be an amazing surprise but they really like to play the hits when it's a big show (to have everyone in the crowd really pumped and singing along) so I wouldn't get your hopes up. They'll dare to play Dookie and AI in full at a big show because they already play half those albums at every show anyway. Other albums much less chance.

  38. AI and Dookie (plus Minority like they've been doing) give me all the "hits" I need. Now, I can see someone arguing that they don't want to hear albums in full because they want room in the set for more deep tracks like they tend to do at small shows, but to get to hear all of Saviors, plus deep tracks off of American Idiot, would satisfy me completely. The last argument I would expect to hear from a fan is that they didn't play enough "hits". They've played the hits enough times they don't ever need to play them again.
    1 point
  39. I think the band gave enough space for the same hits for decades, and have Ai Saviors and Dookie in full with be something unique. We can enjoy the same greatest hits set next year again, so I don't see why there are people complaining. I would be cmpletely hyped if they atarting playing all the albuns from front to back in future shows more than a GH set like hella mega again
