Before everyone starts referencing the One Minute Left joke, these are the AWARDS, not the festival. Two completely different beasts. Either way, I am really hyped!! I just checked, and the boys are also nominated for "Alternative Artist of the Year"9 points

Who would have guessed when American Idiot came out in 2004 that Billie's hair would STILL be this fluffy and magnificent 20 years later?7 points

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It was lovely to read. I also have a fondness for the Trilogy era because it's the first era was I was there for as you mentioned. I just joined the form, was very active in the fandom, and I was seeing my first Green Day concert the following year. Though I later saw them on the 2016 club (which is one of the best concerts I've ever been to), the 99 Revolutions tour is so special. Not only was it my first ever GD show, I got to hear these amazing Trilogy songs that they would later remove from the setlist. I mean they closed with Brutal Love! I think about that performance so freaking much. My show felt extra special too because it was the launch of the tour. You could tell Billie was happy and maybe a bit nervous to be on stage post rehab, but once he saw how the fans waited and embraced him with open arms he just had this look of joy on his face. I still remember his little speech during Letterbomb where he screamed "THIS IS IT! WE ARE ALIVE! WE ARE FUCKING ALIVEEEEEEE!" and thinking how much it must hit him considering what he'd just been through. What a great show.6 points

Well, the last time they were invited to play an awards shows (and where nominated) was the EMA 2019 in Europe and they won. So maybe it's a good sign that they play đ6 points

Creativity was just off the charts during Trilogy era. They kept doing so many creative things to songs they haven't done since then.. off from top of my head Lady Cobra had extended outro, Stop When the Red Lights Flash had multiple different variations after solo with the best one being the most random switch to Fuck Time out of nowhere in early 99 Revolutions Tour, the coolest transition ever from 2000 Light Years Away to Brain Stew in Red 7 and so many other things I've forgotten since. I believe this was also the era where some fan could play guitar on She! Just perfection. Your show sounds like a time of your life. I still appreciate they had balls to close out these shows without Good Riddance and honestly it wasn't needed. Brutal Love was perfect closer and 99 Revolutions was perfect opener.. so of course this band throws that logic out of window and never bothers to play those songs again. Sigh.3 points

Expecting Dookie and American Idiot hits and maybe two tracks from Saviors. My money is on American Dream and Dilemma, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.2 points

Happy he's doing well and that he found a way to reshape his art to fit in with his new life rather than giving it up. Really inspiring.2 points

Is that a Tony Soprano shirt? Billie recently mentioned that James Gandolfini was apparently a GD fan and used to listen to them in his Sopranos dressing room which is cool2 points

I really hope they play Coma City. Must be super cool live!2 points

Kevin announced that his Nana Betty had passed away a few days ago. She went to all of his shows. She had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. You can look at Kevin's Instagram for more information and pictures. The topic a made honoring her got taken down, so I thought I could just share it here. R.I.P Nana Betty đ. I don't think we really need a thread to talk about Kevin's nana, there's not really much to be discussed nor is it really related to Green Day at all2 points

Man, I'd wish they stopped overdubbing the studio track with the making off. At the same time the part of Mike making the bass in almost one take is awesome2 points

Funnily enough, I listened to one of agreed Dudes podcasts today and they were talking about the Pitchfork review which had been down on Mikeâs bass playing and I remembered reading it when came and thinking âwtfâ as did the Green Dudes and seeing this was just stunning. The bass through the whole record is great.2 points

Streaming has nothing to do with the Airplay charts, but on the topic of airplay, I heard Dilemma today on SiriusXM Faction Punk channel.1 point

Yeah but he opens with saying Green Day sold 75 million records and released 14 albums - the joke is that the comparison is absurd because Busted are obviously much less successful and prolific than them. Busted are the butt of the joke not Green Day.1 point
