  1. They have officially surpassed one billion streams on Spotify with Basket Case. Now it's American Idiot's turn to hit that goal

  2. Hey, so I work in live sports television (Bally Sports, specifically, Cleveland Guardians and Cavs) and one of our March Artists of the Month is Green Day! Interestingly enough the song we're allowed to use is Corvette Summer, so basically you'll hear this song used in highlights and stuff during the broadcast. Kind of an odd choice to use for the NBA, but could definitely see this working for MLB/summer. Here's the email I got.

  6. Don't remember seeing these before. Or these from the Longshot tour. I definitely haven't seen Billie wearing a hard hat onstage before.

  7. Yes I think the Garage is 11pm, they said they usually put stage times on their twitter in the day! Does anyone know if there will be any kind of merch, I know it's a long stretch but would be nice to have something to commemorate the gig!

  11. It's a milestone people should care if one of the hits gets 1 billion. It's not like life is Saviors or something.

  14. I think I know what's going on. Derek is retiring from Sum 41 so he become the new frontman for Green Day, Linkin Park AND The Network. Well, he's always been Fink but now he's going to be openly Fink.

  16. I wonder what Green Day (or Warner) will do with the $3.50 coming their way from 1,000,230,452 streams of Basketcase on Spotify. In all seriousness, a billion streams is a big deal. Starting out as the rickety story of Swank and Houston, Basketcase was rewritten and given the Cavallo treatment to become one of the biggest songs in the world. As a weirdo who likes a good deal of other Green Day records more than Dookie, even I recognize this song's appeal. It's relatable, funny, sad, rockin' - it really is a perfect song and deserves more plays than "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd. Anybody here NOT like Basketcase? I'm all about some hot takes so I won't give you crap about it.

  18. Well deserved. There’s just something about Basket Case I can never get bored of it. Every time I hear it it feels like the first time. Always a thrill. The riff, the lyrics, the drums! Perfection. Congrats Green Day, don’t spend it all in one place 😄 💚 Basket Case

  19. I'm playing Fancy Sauce 360 times a day, only skipping the last second because there's not enough time in one day to listen more than that. What are you doing to help the plight of deep cuts in 2024, my friend?

  23. Good news, some of my CD's came in today! Sad news is the jewel cases on the CD's I bought on ebay got destroyed through shipping. Not all of them thankfully, but Shenanigans and ¡Dos! were pretty jacked up. Atleast the CD's work. The seller also put in the CD's in the case upside down (meaning the design was on the bottom).

  25. I have it but don't consider it a blessing , I also need some product tips from Billie I just got a thinned out short bob cut at the hairdresser today, the less of it to deal with the better!

  26. Omg that's so cool. We met Cone in the airport on the way to see Green Day (21CB tour) and he told us he'd seen the show that tour and how good it was! They were at the small GD show in Vegas too

  27. Green Day can also use this as publicity for Saviors. A simple IG post calling attention to the 1 billion feat, and work in bringing all their songs to a billion, including the songs on their new album, Saviors. Boom.

  29. What’s the official current stream count on Basket Case right now? Mine hasn’t moved since yesterday it’s still showing 999,529,176. Should be getting very close to that billionth stream. Do you think the band will acknowledge it in some way?

  30. Listen to Billie whine about nothing and everything all at once for Basket Case day. I can imagine that on a billboard in the East Bay. lol

  31. Amazing album but I’m ready to go to hell for my useless GD opinion today! Wee: My favorite songs from the album are constantly changing, while my 3 least favorite songs have been the same (and no, I don’t skip them when they’re on): bobby Sox- a bit boring and the repetitive falsetto “ooos” feel generic, not fun. The scream is the best part. Now the making of video is Awesome as fuck! dilemma- a bit boring. Scream and lyrics save it. The making of video shreds, though! father to a son - gotta be in the mood, otherwise a bit cheesy. Mix is weird. String arrangements are cool as hell!

  33. Scattered among "the weakest"? It's been one of the band's most beloved songs since forever and considered a classic by the vast majority of the fanbase. Sorry, I'm not sure there's anything to see here TBH. Ballads tend to be towards the end of album. The rest are tenuous links at best. The band tend to follow a pretty well established track list pattern.

  40. Sometime I'm on a roll and I can spend $500 on merchs and collections in less than a week. And sometime I don't buy anything for like 2 years. Still waiting for the signed CD...

  41. I'm a collector on a budget, so my cap for spending depends on what I'm trying to get. I think the highest I would go for random items is maybe 50 bucks. I'm not out to get anything rare or limited. I'm more interested in picking up random Green day things I don't have, even if its just a studio album that's easy to find. I'm always happy to welcome new Green day stuff into my collection. I think I have a good amount of stuff. I'm not really into every variant of a record (unless I run into it for a good price). I like more of the weird stuff, like BJA baseball cards, GD guitar picks, toys, and promo stuff. One of my faves is a huge in-store Gamestop poster for Green Day Rockband.
