This is great. The article linked has even more stuff: https://pnn.phmschools.org/news/meet-gods-favorite-directors-ryan-baxley-and-brendan-walter/?doing_wp_cron=1708438342.3968710899353027343750 For the Bobby Sox video: “Billie had suggested he wear his shirt from the now 30-year-old music video “When I Come Around,” but unfortunately, that outfit didn’t make the cut. “ That would have been cool. I wonder if he’s really talking about the striped Longview shirt that we know he still has Also this: “Ryan Baxley will be going on the Saviors tour this summer with Green Day. The band is considering more videos for the ‘Saviors’ era in the future, both Walter and Baxley would love to tackle the track 1981 as a possible next music video although nothing is set and stone.”6 points

Love these behind the scenes clips! Side note about this song in general: Every time I hear it, it makes me smile. There's just something about it ❤️6 points

Fancy Sauce Wow choosing the other two is difficult with so many amazing songs! I went for Suzie Chapstick (beautiful) and Living In the 20s (badass)5 points

It's so nice to see the pics from our trip again. Here's a few of mine The gardens at Lake Merritt (Mother Mary - we can take a walk around the lake, there's a garden in the park there) The Haight (Misery - Mr Whirly had a catastrophic incident. He fell into a City by the bay. He liquidated his estate. Now he sleeps upon The Haight. Panhandling Misery A collage from the Art of Ears studio in Hayward. Top three changes every day but Suzie Chapstick was my fav on first listen and is still my #1 pic. I think it’s because the writing of the song lyrics for OEB are more character driven instead of more emotionally driven.4 points

Ugh I saw someone on Reddit say that Mike apparently had a dog called Bowie that died a couple years ago and was seriously asking if the Bowie line could be referring to that and not David Bowie. Obviously not , but now I think of this every time I hear it.4 points

Kind of amateur interview but quite interesting with Ryan Baxley and Brendan Walter .Thanks Green Day Live On Tour on FB.4 points

Mine are currently Dilemma, Corvette Summer, and Fancy Sauce, but they do change often! These were favorites for me when I first heard the album as well. Other favorites are Goodnight Adeline, Coma City, One Eyed Bastard…but the entire track list is one big favorite. The ones I don’t listen to as much are Suzie Chapstick and Father to a Son, but they’re still very good.3 points
-
That was a great read! We're lucky to have them on the team for this era, they've really knocked it out of the park with music videos and art direction, etc.3 points
-
Definitely Good Riddance. Haven't picked up a guitar in over a year now, so I'm missing the necessary calluses!3 points
-
Wow I haven't thought about this in a while, especially since I don't keep up with guitar. But my first Green Day song was either Good Riddance or JoS.3 points
-
I love Bobby Sox! They put so much feeling into that song. I smile when I hear it as well! 💗3 points

The behind the scenes is awesome Totally! Has to be the most wholesome GD song, it's so uplifting3 points

Played guitar along to all of Saviors today and realized it has been out for a month so I guess it was subconsciously in honor of that. Happy 1 month to a great album!3 points

This was my second Green Day show ever (the first being Lollapalooza 2010) and I think it might have been the best-sounding show of the 6 I’ve been to. I remember being taken aback by how good the drums and backing vocals sounded during this song. Same thing when they played Brutal Love! It was at the beginning of the trilogy tour after Billie’s rehab so I think the energy of this show was very unique when compared to the others. I also remember someone brought a cardboard cutout of Justin Bieber and another fan knocked his head off. The dude who brought it was like “seriously?” Lol3 points

Multifaceted tears. Whatshername is sad, and he lived it. But Billie was also thinking gosh this is good. How do we top it? The next album is going to be be a bitch. Or maybe we should quit. Or maybe Mike should go solo. Or maybe I should get help for the drinking. Maybe we should sue The Network....but how? We don't know their names and all their music comes back to us somehow. Gosh darn it. My evil twin brother is out there. Somewhere. Laughing. Ya know?3 points

Now that we've had Saviors for a month, what are your top three favorite tracks from it? Any changes from when you first heard it?2 points
-
I actually got all three candles for free from a random fan on Tumblr!! Sadly, they didn't pack it well so Billie broke I spent hours putting it together....and then it fell apart while moving 😠2 points
-
I am sooooo excited for this! The documentary is going to be amazing! 😃🤘2 points

Ooh, weird stuff just made me think of the one thing I really wanted, but was never able to find- Billie's Spanish candle from the God's favorite band era. I thought for sure people would be selling those individually on ebay, but never came across them.2 points
-
I'm a collector on a budget, so my cap for spending depends on what I'm trying to get. I think the highest I would go for random items is maybe 50 bucks. I'm not out to get anything rare or limited. I'm more interested in picking up random Green day things I don't have, even if its just a studio album that's easy to find. I'm always happy to welcome new Green day stuff into my collection. I think I have a good amount of stuff. I'm not really into every variant of a record (unless I run into it for a good price). I like more of the weird stuff, like BJA baseball cards, GD guitar picks, toys, and promo stuff. One of my faves is a huge in-store Gamestop poster for Green Day Rockband.2 points

When I Come Around. it's the one song I can play without even thinking about it.2 points

I used to collect a lot too up until around 2010/2011 and did spend over the odds on some of the stuff I bought back then. I just can't afford it these days though and honestly I don't have anywhere to put it. Even If I did have a little bit of money I'd rather spend it going to a show but the prices for that have gone up astronomically too2 points

Wake Me Up When September Ends. My father died in December 2011 and I decided to pick up guitar and learn the only song I could relate to back then. I had never touched guitar before, so it took me 2 months to learn it, but I eventually managed to do it. Afterwards I thought how hard American Idiot would be to learn.. took me whole whopping 5 minutes and rest is history. Nowadays I mainly play Trilogy stuff and of course my favorite from them, She.2 points

I also disagree with like almost all the worst. I must admit Suzie isn't really as good, but Coma City and Fancy Sauce slap like bass!2 points

Thinking back now, good riddance might’ve actually been first, but East Jesus Nowhere was definitely the first one I learned on electric. I think I was inspired by their VMAs performance.2 points
-
I borrowed an electric guitar yeeaars ago and the first thing I played was American Idiot (the song) and Holiday. When I got my first bass guitar in 2009 I for sure played something off of American Idiot or 21st CB. One of the first songs I learnt on bass was Holiday. When I got myself an acoustic guitar in 2020 one of the first songs i learnt for that was Christie Road and Pulling Teeth and Coming Clean off Dookie. Also BOBD off American Idiot. I never found the motivation to look into playing Good Riddance on the acoustic guitar, I only play it on bass to fool around a little haha2 points

Ha Ha You're Dead. Everything is easy to play, even the solo. Then Time of your life. Easiest song ever.2 points

1. Dilemma 2. Strange Days... 3. TADIKM or Suzie Chapstick I no longer listen to One Eyed Bastard. It's a skip for me pretty much every time and the worst song on the album IMO.2 points
-
My top three change almost daily 😅 I picked Bobby Sox, Strange Days Are Here To Stay and Living In The 20 because I listen to them most of the time. But The American Dream Is Killing Me is also just great. And Saviors is an almost hidden gem too!2 points

Either that or someone gave ultimate tease Billie Joe Armstrong the account password.2 points

I voted for three, read the rest of the comments and May have changed my mind already which is why I never normally even try and do this. I love the whole album, am possibly suffering a little from over playing TADIKM but I particularly love Living In The Twenties, Bobby Sox, OEB, Dilemma, Coma City, Saviors and Fancy Sauce.2 points

I think that's why it stood out to me too! It's like Billie you have a potty mouth, yet things like "oh gosh!" is just a normal part of his vernacular. As someone who also swears like a sailor yet uses words like "malarkey" I can relate2 points

Listening to an old interview w/Rolling stone from the RedRad era and some interesting takeaways considering where Green Day are now: The interviewer said he loved the Trilogy and told Billie there were lots of great songs on there that maybe weren't appreciated at the time because of all the content, but will eventually find their audience He was right! Now it's no longer a hot take that the Trilogy is actually good, especially in light of FOAM. But it's really nice to see more folks coming around to it, flaws and all. I really liked the Trilogy when it came out, but started to wonder if it was just my bias at play when so many people came out against it. It's just nice to think about how the Trilogy is perceived now versus its release and even during the RevRad era. Billie also gives love to the trilogy saying they were fun records to make and he loves the songs. Soooooo why don't they pull out a few on tour? Just saying... 👀 Billie says "Gosh" a lot in interviews I noticed all his "Goshes" during recent interviews, but he has a big one here when talking about Still Breathing. Just funny to note because most people talk about his "Y'knows" Billie said Still Breathing isn't only about his rehab I think we all know this, but it was interesting to hear him talk about how he wanted to write a song that could apply to anyone struggling. He said he didn't "want to be greedy" with it. I just thought it was an interesting way to frame that. They talk about the origins of Revolution Radio (the song) and how it was inspired by the Ferguson protests and the start of the Black Lives Matter movement It's just wild how relevant this song is and how it's a topic Billie would talk about again on FOAM in Graffitia when the Black Lives Matter movement really exploded. And one that he would talk about AGAIN on Saviors. It's crazy to think about and it's just sad that really nothing has changed. Billie talks about missing touring, the interviewer said it's their longest break between tours, and Billie described it as being unemployed and questioning your purpose Boy, does this sound weird post COVID! If only Billie knew what was coming... It's a nice listen! Nothing we don't know now but it's kind of nice to look back at the RevRad era via this interview and see what's changed and what hasn't. I just really loved the observations about the trilogy because it was spot on! Check it out here if you want to listen:2 points

Sometime I'm on a roll and I can spend $500 on merchs and collections in less than a week. And sometime I don't buy anything for like 2 years. Still waiting for the signed CD...1 point

I agree the prices for the concerts are very expensive. I wanted to go to the concert in Denver in September, but to get a good seat is way too expensive. I barely have anywhere to put my collection myself. 😅1 point

My first electric guitar song was definitely When I Come Around. Super easy to play including the solo.1 point

Haha, i did actually dream something once I was sitting with Mike, Billie, Tre and some wierd old man ive never seen before, and we were eating mashed potatos but then suddenly the old man died.. I dont know, but i think it had something to do with the story about laurie L on kerplunk The last thing i remember is that we sat in a church, and that the Rabbit from Awesome As Fuck was there HAHA, but thats actually what i remember from that dream. nothing else1 point
