We lost our old account when all those fan pages were taken down, but we're back! We'll be posting a photo with a quote each day as well as news when it comes. Even I can't possibly forget to post, because I've scheduled as many photos as it will let me https://www.instagram.com/gdauthority If you want to search for specific pictures, check out the Tumblr.13 points

Listening to an old interview w/Rolling stone from the RedRad era and some interesting takeaways considering where Green Day are now: The interviewer said he loved the Trilogy and told Billie there were lots of great songs on there that maybe weren't appreciated at the time because of all the content, but will eventually find their audience He was right! Now it's no longer a hot take that the Trilogy is actually good, especially in light of FOAM. But it's really nice to see more folks coming around to it, flaws and all. I really liked the Trilogy when it came out, but started to wonder if it was just my bias at play when so many people came out against it. It's just nice to think about how the Trilogy is perceived now versus its release and even during the RevRad era. Billie also gives love to the trilogy saying they were fun records to make and he loves the songs. Soooooo why don't they pull out a few on tour? Just saying... 👀 Billie says "Gosh" a lot in interviews I noticed all his "Goshes" during recent interviews, but he has a big one here when talking about Still Breathing. Just funny to note because most people talk about his "Y'knows" Billie said Still Breathing isn't only about his rehab I think we all know this, but it was interesting to hear him talk about how he wanted to write a song that could apply to anyone struggling. He said he didn't "want to be greedy" with it. I just thought it was an interesting way to frame that. They talk about the origins of Revolution Radio (the song) and how it was inspired by the Ferguson protests and the start of the Black Lives Matter movement It's just wild how relevant this song is and how it's a topic Billie would talk about again on FOAM in Graffitia when the Black Lives Matter movement really exploded. And one that he would talk about AGAIN on Saviors. It's crazy to think about and it's just sad that really nothing has changed. Billie talks about missing touring, the interviewer said it's their longest break between tours, and Billie described it as being unemployed and questioning your purpose Boy, does this sound weird post COVID! If only Billie knew what was coming... It's a nice listen! Nothing we don't know now but it's kind of nice to look back at the RevRad era via this interview and see what's changed and what hasn't. I just really loved the observations about the trilogy because it was spot on! Check it out here if you want to listen:9 points

I was remembering the first time I saw X-Kid live. It breaks me every time I hear Billie's voice crack around 2.45 in the video7 points

I fangirl when they talk about my country (Thanks for screenshotting this and posting it @Rumpelstiltskin2000)7 points

I started an extra cleaning job where I can listen to music on headphones by myself for 2.5 hours a day. I've listened to this album countless times already, still sounds amazing every time! Also just been listening to every Green Day album many times, they really are the best band . This album made me fall head over heels in love with them again lol. Gonna be so awesome to see them live again in the summer.7 points

Too hard to narrow down to three I can never do these things6 points

Thank you Billie for bringing back the front hair volume. It’s actually ridiculous how my heart does a lil flip every time this man posts a picture lol. What a hottie.6 points

Yeah. Their promotion felt really geared toward people who were already fans and hyped for Saviors. Which we all very much appreciated and clearly enjoyed a lot! It was for us, and I felt it. We got so many great interviews and stuff like the listening parties were so cool. But instead of spending energy on things like the EA Sports party, which was announced as some sort of promo gig but ended up being private/not Saviors-heavy, I would’ve preferred a late night appearance or two. The Jimmy Fallon thing was cute, but didn’t really showcase the new album. Similarly, Billie’s podcast appearances were great, but barely touched on the new album at all, which seems to sorta defeat the purpose. It felt like they were everywhere the first couple weeks in January, which was so special for us as fans, but it didn’t feel like targeted stuff that would make a splash outside of the fandom, other than Dick Clark. SNL and a late night talk show would’ve been ideal, particularly a week or two AFTER the album came out to keep pushing it. There are also a lot of fun YouTube series run by different magazines and stuff that could’ve been cool promotion for the younger crowd (I personally love watching those autocomplete interviews, lie detector tests, etc. — quick fun entertainment). Or imagine them covering a current popular artist on something like BBC One Live Lounge? That would make waves! Promoting it before it’s out only goes so far. I don’t think they should run themselves ragged or anything, but 2-3 more strategically placed performances post-release would’ve helped a lot, I think.6 points

This is REALLY hard! I really like everything on this album, but I think my top 3 are LMNB (which shocks me because I wasn't into this single when it dropped), Dilemma ( I love everything about this song), and Fancy Sauce. Suzie Chapstick is eeking very close to my top 3 though. That song has grown on me a lot since I first heard. I think I really love Billie's vocals on this one. It just sounds so damn good!5 points

Okay this is the Billie look I love. Give me all the flooooooooof!5 points

I just heard Dilemma on Octane (which plays hard rock) and got SO EXCITED. Awesome to finally hear it on the radio. And I’m glad Octane picked it up, because it’s definitely on the heavy side. The last time I heard Green Day on this station was when Bang Bang came out!5 points

Hard to choose just 3, but I'd have to say my top are Goodnight Adeline, Bobby Sox, and Dilemma. Love them all though!4 points

Picking just three songs is super hard. I love the entire thing!4 points

Dilemma, Goodnight Adeline, and LIT20s, although Suzie Chapstick and Fancy Sauce are seriously up there as well.4 points

You Lied randomly popped into my head today. I haven’t listened to Shenanigans in years honestly, but I listened to it alllll the time when I first got into Green Day. Such a great album!4 points

Now that we've had Saviors for a month, what are your top three favorite tracks from it? Any changes from when you first heard it?3 points
-
Love these behind the scenes clips! Side note about this song in general: Every time I hear it, it makes me smile. There's just something about it ❤️3 points
-
I voted for three, read the rest of the comments and May have changed my mind already which is why I never normally even try and do this. I love the whole album, am possibly suffering a little from over playing TADIKM but I particularly love Living In The Twenties, Bobby Sox, OEB, Dilemma, Coma City, Saviors and Fancy Sauce.3 points

I find this hilarious and rather endearing because it’s not like he has an aversion to swearing lol. It makes me wonder if it’s something he picked up from Adrienne because it sounds very sweet and Minnesotan to me.3 points

Bobby Sox, SDAHTS and Fancy Sauce. Suzie Chapstick and 1981 are close behind3 points

I almost made it 5, but figured that'd be a third of the album. My top ones are Dilemma, OEB, and LIT20S. Runners up would be Fancy Sauce and Suzie Chapstick. Same as when I first heard the album. Good Night Adeline and SDAHTS would be after that.3 points

Okay YES. I just came on here to say that, for some inexplicable reason, I find it very sexy when Green Day is played on Sirius XM’s hard rock channel Octane. And I think it might be related to this somehow (it’s also probably because I like a lot of music heavier than Green Day and so them being grouped among that music is hot to me lol). Like, I have lots of other bands I enjoy. And to me they’re just *bands I enjoy* who I recognize are popular among rock fans and who I discovered on the radio. They’re just bands. Idk anything about them beyond their music, I have no emotional or personal attachment. But Green Day is not just a band I enjoy. They’re part of me, and my life is so intertwined with them in a way that feels so personal. My fandom here has always been something that is primarily about the band members first and the music second, because they just matter so much to me. So even though I on some level objectively know that they’re a very popular band, whenever they’re acknowledged for that in some mainstream way, it takes me out of that bubble I’ve been in with them for nearly 20 years and I’m like “wow, you’re like legit and famous!” When Billie acknowledges the entity that is Green Day, it feels similarly. They’re so normal and down-to-earth as people that when you’re focused on them and not their global stardom, it’s easy to not think of them in that way at all. They’re just the guys. I realize this is an extremely strange line of thought lol.3 points

Despite my very loud complaints about their stale setlist, a Green day show is always a good time. Yeah, I may complain about it after, but in the moment it's just glorious. Even during the NHL pre game show where they only did 3 songs, that was awesome and definitely worth freezing my butt off! What I love about them is they perform with the same energy, passion, and fervor whether it's a small dive bar or a huge baseball stadium. I don't have any tickets for their upcoming shows (right now) but I'm looking forward to seeing tour footage because I know it's going to be fun.3 points

So much lore around Idiot. Billie's wild behavior. Multiple albums recorded. Mike left alone in the studio. Guest vocalist Kathleen Hanna. The Network mysteries. Green Day nearly breaking up. The people that inspired the story, from presidents, politicians to ex girlfriends, parents and stepparents. The media. Hopefully most will be revealed here.3 points

81, Coma, and Corvette. But any given moment I could cycle in a Look Ma, Goodnight Adeline, Suzy, OEB, or the title track in place of Corvette.2 points

I think that's why it stood out to me too! It's like Billie you have a potty mouth, yet things like "oh gosh!" is just a normal part of his vernacular. As someone who also swears like a sailor yet uses words like "malarkey" I can relate2 points

Seems like a tease, not a full song or something. I guess it was something like Mozart's "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" before When I Come Around Billie sometime plays or when he sang the words "The Beautiful People" (literally that) from the Marilyn Manson song during the Longview drum intro. So no nothing too big, I'd say. Some people say "omg they covered Ramones, Limp Bizkit, AC/DC, etc." but mean some teases between songs.2 points

I get what you’re saying. It’s easy to feel that way when Billie’s doing side projects like Longshot or the Coverups and he hangs out after, is very relaxed and accessible, you’re all in this tiny club and it’s easy to forget he’s as famous as he is.2 points

Don't forget: Billie cried after recording Whatsername, B-Sides disc, HLAHG outtakes, Roshambo and other theorized songs2 points

https://youtu.be/M3rCuhG7rfk?si=pjPhapoJVLfMT4KO Damn the Pop Disaster shows have got to be some of my favorite of all-time. They were absolutely on fire, ripping through songs and Billie Joe had morphed into the showman he became for the American Idiot Era. And look at Jason White getting down! You could tell they were giving it their all, especially since they were the first co-headliner. (Also, not sure how to put the video in my post so I just left it as a link. Any help would be appreciated 👌)1 point

According to this the doc is going to be part of the American Idiot reissue that’s coming. Includes the doc and new stuff no one’s heard before Thanks @peachesandzebras for finding this clip1 point

I really wanna hear adeline, fancy sauce, suzie chapstick live. They have to do something with this album. I think the album will have a lot more fans if they start promoting heavily and ditch older songs.1 point

This album continues to be solid as we near a month out. FOAM was boring to me a few days in. Saviors has a lot of re-listen value and I think it’s due to a) good songs b) but also songs that have some variety in them. A lot of Saviors songs aren’t predictable after the first chorus and change things up even in small ways to keep it interesting. Nothing wild but even take a short song like 1981 that changes up the instrumentation at times to keep it feeling fresh.1 point
