  3. Of course! The main reason I love Billie so much is because he's just an amazing person. His unbelievable attractiveness is just a bonus. I love Mike and Tré for the same reasons. Just minus the attractiveness. Not that they're bad looking, they just don't really do it for me personally. They have all those great qualities that Billie does in terms of the people they are.

  4. I enforced it when I was a mod . But I think people are fairly restrained there, it's really mostly just saying he looks good and reacting to photos with this: lol. The guy has got on stage and got his dick out, mooned, simulated masturbation and shouted "somebody fuck me!", appeared naked, stripped to a leopard thong, humped the floor, and made out with fans, I don't think a few people saying he looks sexy is a problem.

  5. With how much crap OEB got on this site when it leaked, it's interesting to see that this is the best performing track for the past few days. Guess the criticism didn't translate to the general public. I've always been a fan of OEB.

  8. I think we’re quite respectful. The objectification side of it always has a silly lightheartedness to it and IMO it’s mostly just us having cartoon heart eyes and absolutely adoring the hell out of these people. We keep it here bc it would be too sickly sweet to spread all over the forum.

  9. Here here! Adding to this, yes I think Billie is cute as heck but more than anything I have such respect for him. And I don't feel that way about all the musicians I listen to. I respect Billie because he's always followed his gut and his heart. When people wanted to oust green day because they went mainstream he was like fuck you this is what we want, it's good for the band. And I love that he's always had that spirit. He doesn't let anyone get in his way of things he thinks are right, not even the fans! If he wants to do something, he'll do it come hell or high water. When you have so many sides yelling at you to do this or that, especially when you're as big as green day, it's easy to cave under pressure but Billie and the band in general have stood their ground and listen to themselves. I have immense respect for that.

  10. @Slave To The Network I couldn’t agree more! My fangirling is first and foremost rooted in deep respect. I am not like this with other famous people, but I genuinely think the world of this band. I love them for what they stand for as people. I am in awe of their talent, work ethic, and passion for their craft. I am endeared by how grounded they are both in their friendship with each other and in how important their families and communities are to them. I have so much admiration for them as people and musicians. I wouldn’t be such a longtime fan if I didn’t. And Billie is just my favorite person, for too many reasons to name. From the way he treats everyone from the littlest fans to music journalists to how sincerely he cares about important causes, he’s just good in a way that I know has influenced me to be a better and more caring person. I find him hilarious and sweet and to be such a gifted writer. And as someone who also deals with anxiety, he just continuously blows me away with how brave he is, whether it’s talking about heated political topics or his personal struggles. No one is perfect, and he’s certainly not, and my life in this fandom has definitely not been a straight line of me always looking at him with googly eyes. But man, if there’s anyone in this world I wholeheartedly adore, it’s him. And yeah, it’s a nice bonus that he’s also like the cutest human I’ve ever seen. But I find him as attractive as I do for all the other stuff I listed, too.

  12. It’s dropped from 1 to 26 in the UK official charts . 😢😭 Going by the amount of vinyl copies of Saviors up on ebay, I guess a lot of the pre-orders were bought to sell, although some seem to be listed by ‘record dealers’.

  15. My Japanese import CD arrived today, so I finally got to listen to this song! Nothing great, kind of reminds me of a Fountains of Wayne song, but still catchy. I think the uniqueness of having a physical version of this song makes me appreciate it more.

  17. 1981 'doing well' is only because is in the sequence of the previous singles on the streaming services the best non-single is Suzie Chapstick, that surpass plays of the two previous tracks

  23. Just came in here from the Saviors Album thread, geez! Can it get a little warm in here from time to time? Sure, but on the whole I'd say we're pretty respectful.

  25. The album dropped from no. 2 to no. 10 in the German charts. Not too bad, considering both RevRad and FOAM fell out of the top 10 after a week.

  26. It may have to do with the fact that Adrienne is not in Green Day, which this forum is all about and not about band members' wives.
    2 points
  27. I don’t really think it’s largely about this (I agree with @pacejunkie punk that it sounds like it’s about resigning to the fact that Adrienne could leave him if he continued on a self-destructive path), but I wonder if any of it is about the loss of Adeline Records itself. It always struck me as odd that Pat Magnarella was dropped as their manager and then Adeline Records subsequently closed — I believe he was the one who really demanded Billie get help in 2012 and they seemed close, which made the management change feel like a falling out. Maybe it was just a series of business decisions, but it does make me wonder.

  28. I think the Dookie+AI dates will be killer and a rare thing to see (as Mike stated in a recent interview), at least for me that i'm a hard American Idiot lover ❤️ i was not fortunate to be at a GD gig in 2005 but now will see them in Dublin with the full album. Just magic!
    2 points
  29. You probably have heard and likely have said yourselves which GD albums do you prefer when it comes to listening the entire record from back to forth, from its first to its final song. But have you actually expiremented with the opposite? Have you tried to listen to a GD album, but instead of the original order, you heard it on the opposite direction (example: on "Nimrod" start with "Prosthetic Head" and finish with "Nice Guys Finish Last"; on "Revolution Radio" start with "Ordinary World" and end your listen with "Somewhere Now"). Yes, it will not sound very good, but this could be a good test on how high each album's experience quality is. i tried a few days ago and i have to say with reversed order the two best Green Day albums are "Warning:" and "American Idiot" ("Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" to "Holiday" transition is used to being referred as a common joke but it is still nice in an unexpected manner), while "Insomniac", "Uno!" and "Tré!" are much worse when played backwards. What are your thoughts about that procedure? (P.S. i will delete the topic in case it does not fulfil the GDC standards, unless someone from the administration team does so beforehand.)

  31. Here's what I expected from the Billboard reviews: Bobby Sox - something like Linkin Park performing Weezer Dilemma - Actually don't even know Goodnight Adeline - Acoustic-worthy song Coma City - Something in the speed of Sugar Youth Corvette Summer - Some garage song in the vein of Sugar Youth in a way Suzie Chapstick - Something melodic Strange Days - Something in the vein of alien noises, UFO noises, fast vocals and glitched-up guitars Living in the 20s - A punky-altrock song Father to a Son - The actual song Saviors - 21st Century Breakdown-ish song Fancy Sauce - A power ballad, even though the title at first sight made me think of a meatball on a plate I got it from a preorder and it arrived 1 day after release, and I feel the asymmetry is a bout of living hell too. Considering I also own BBC Sessions, which has the same packaging and length.

  33. I wonder if there will be a rock revival some day again like in the early 2000s 🤔 maybe Olivia Rodrigo is the beginning to bridge the gap from pop back to rock.

  34. FOAM dropped to 17 on the UK charts on its second week after also debuting at no. 1. So that's quite disappointing to see Savior drop further, to 26. On the Top Album Sales chart, it dropped from 1 to 10 while FOAM dropped from 1 to 6. Based on first week sales, I would've expected Saviors to do better. On the Top Album Downloads chart, it dropped from 1 to 27 while FOAM dropped from 1 to 9 On the Top Album Streaming chart, it dropped from 23 to 93, while FOAM dropped from 24 to being off the chart This indicates just how poorly they do in terms of streaming compared to album sales/downloads. But, while Saviors poor album sales has resulted in lower chart positions on the main album chart, the fact that it's doing better than FOAM in terms of streaming is a pretty good sign even if its streaming numbers aren't comparable to more mainstream pop artists Idk why the album seemed to do worse than FOAM in terms of album sales. The obvious answer is that people don't buy albums as much as 4 years ago but Saviors sold more on its first week in the UK than FOAM did (https://www.musicweek.com/analysis/read/charts-analysis-green-day-top-30-000-sales-with-saviors/089168/). I guess those first week sales just meant less people left to buy the album on the 2nd week Apparently Saviors sold 3,933 units in the UK on its 2nd week (including sales, streams & downloads) http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=269075&st=0&start=0 Idk what FOAM's 2nd week sales were in the UK (EDIT: Apparently it was 3,635 http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=230819). So Saviors still got more units in week 2 but charted lower

  35. I think that’s fairly normal for rock albums these days. They debut in high positions and then drop off the charts after a few weeks.

  36. Yeah! Whether it's CD or vinyl it's a great set. A cool live show, some demos, and bonus goodies! They may be silly but it's a cool extra thing for the price.

  42. Not that I am an marketing expert, but since we have such a large gap between now and the first set of shows, I think it would be nice to see the band let Dilemma cook and see where it can hit on the charts. Once it inevitably slows down, one more single (1981, which is the highest streamed non-single). I wanted so badly to suggest a Side-B song, but I don't think any of them have the ability to be the earworm that 1981 could be

  43. In our defence, being a regular on the fangirl thread, if there is any debate about anyone doing anything to anyone, it’s often us forming a posse to fix his eyeliner etc. so it’s pretty jokey. Yes, there is a lot of “how gorgeous is Billie looking” and much discussion about his hair but it’s jokey and pretty respectful. There’s a lot of love on that thread.
