  1. I got to the page 22 seconds after it was announced. Got close twice but the security code took too long to go through and I lost them. After refreshing for 25 minutes I FINALLY GOT TICKETS! I’M SEEING GREEN DAY TONIGHT!!!!!

  2. Happy new Green Day album release day folks! Since becoming a fan in 2004, this is my fifth release day and these days never cease to be special. Hard to believe this project started being teased over two years ago and that the day is finally here. Enjoy it everyone ❤️

  3. I’ve listened through twice now and I honestly can’t choose a favorite. I love every track, the melodies, the lyrics, the variety of sounds. It’s all so catchy I could singalong on the very first listen. The lyrics are sad, funny, insightful, honest, clever and tragic sometimes all at once. They’ve really outdone themselves, this takes everything I’ve loved from every album, every side project, every one off, and puts it together to make something new and masterful. Nothing more to be said but 👏👏👏 congrats to our boys (and the legendary Rob Cavallo). They’ve made something to be proud of again 💚

  5. If you have dealt with mental health and depression or have someone close that had to, listen to those lyrics again, it’s quite easy to understand them.

  6. GDC City open your eyes: It’s been one hell of a ride. Since the end of 2021, we've been eagerly anticipating this album. We've had our highs and lows. Initially, based on the birthdates and the first teasers, we thought the album would be released in 2022. Then we thought it was postponed to 2023. Finally, we received the news that 2024 would be the release year. However, our motivation, excitement, and joy for a new album were stronger than the fact that we had to wait even longer. Now the time has come! We persevered and demonstrated patience! The album has been released and we earned it! Green Day is back with arguably their best work since American Idiot/21CB! Enjoy listening and everything that is yet to come! Happy Release Day and the best regards from a tiny country called Austria!

  7. Amazing that they got into the Hall of Fame before this album was even part of their legacy. It deserves another Grammy but probably won’t get one

  8. To me the stand out here is the sound quality, how crunchy the guitars sound? Rob Cavallo never leave us, please.

  9. I have been holding off on all kinds of teasers and low quality leaks and, my God, was it worth it, WHAT AN ALBUM! The fact that this guys are delivering such a passionated proyect +30 years into their career, 9 year old me really knew what was up when I chose them as my band 🥲 I think as fans, we always talk about how special and magical their bond is, but I can honestly say that I've never heard that chemistry so clearly than in this record. All three of them seem at the top of their game, without outshining one another; Tre absolutely murdered this album! Mike also shines like he hasn't in a long time with so many great licks, and I truly believe this album is Billie's best album in terms of vocal delivery. When it comes to lyrics, I think there's an interesting balance in between the cynical absurdism of songs like Fancy Sauce, Living in the 20s and Strange Days, and the earnest nostalgia of songs like Saviors, Susie Chapstick and Goodnight Adeline. I'm sure there's a lot of layers hiding in the lyrics, and I'm definitely gonna have fun peeling each song back. For some reason, the line "Everybody is sleep but nobody is dreaming, we got all the fiction that's worth believing" really stuck with me. Overall, I would say what I love most about the album is the conviction that seems to pour out of it. After being completely ridiculed with FOAM, any band would hide their tail between their legs and go to the studio to write a perfectly fine album with a "back to their roots" sound. But Green Day are not just any band; they stick to their guns and keep surprising us with unexpected gems like Susie Chapstick and Bobby Sox. I think there's an special symbolism in this project being the first Green Day record in which they own their masters, and the one that manages to capture their essence best. On first listen, my favorites were Coma City, Father to a Son, Susie Chapstick, Saviors, Goodbye Adeline and Fancy Sauce. I absolutely loved all the mid-tempo songs, but really, the album is outstanding, so balanced and dynamic, I really can't put it down, IT'S LIKE CRACK! I know for a fact that I'm not gonna sleep tonight haha

  10. OMG! Managed to give myself a busy morning so just had second listen but god, what an album. Hate ranking things at the best of times so not going anywhere near that BUT: vocals are excellent, drums are fantastic, bass is amazing, guitars brilliant, production awesome, loved the mix of tempos, strings in father to son, couple of longer outros which I love. Already been said but the lyrics are great, make you laugh, cry, sing along, they’re snottty, sarcastic, clever, smart, funny etc etc all the things we love this band for. So many earworms! If you haven’t listened on earphones, do yourself a favour. I feel like it’s the very best of all their skills showcased here. Love it love it love it.

  13. I feel like Saviors is a special kind of gift to the fans after FOAM. We appreciate it more fully, and it’s like they’re saying “thanks for sticking by us through the last album cycle, for letting us experiment and challenge ourselves. We’re glad we did it but we know it was a big ask, now this album is our gift to you and something we know you’ll love”

  18. We are getting so spoiled this era with the music videos! Such a sweet one! Green Day is clearly making it obvious that they love each other, making music together, and playing for us fans. I'm so lucky to be a Green Day fan right now.

  20. Paradise Look Ma American Dream Dilemma Burnout Warning Basketcase She 1981 Minority American Idiot I’m pretty sure that’s right. It was incredible being up so close for an acoustic performance. At the end Billie said this has been one of the best days of their lives and how proud they were of the album. Really special set.

  21. I still can't believe that it happened - as it is quite evident from the way I stared at Billie when he handed me his pick at the end of American Idiot

  23. This song is just beautiful. Perhaps my absolute favourite Green Day song of all time. It serves as a litmus test for bigots. If you don’t like the message of the song and if the chorus makes you feel uncomfortable, then you need to consider if this band is for you or not.

  24. Can you stop? You are a troll and you just look stupid, there’s nothing fun in what you are doing. You purposely ignore the evidence that everyone is providing you which demonstrate how much of an ignorant (meaning ignoring what is in front of you) you are. We are here celebrating an awesome release from the band, a celebration of their story, which is also a queer story. Accept that and fuck off.

  26. Random thought, but they really did a good job promoting singles around holidays. TAKIDM was great with the zombies/Halloween...Dilemma had all of the partying/drinking holiday stuff and now Bobby Sox works so well for Valentine's Day.

  27. This is a mature album. Unlike FOAM, it feels their age. The promotion has felt mature too.

  28. I will not allow ANY Suzie Chapstick slander. One of the best Green Day songs made in the 2000’s hands down. i have nothing additional to contribute that hasn’t been said already, but I really love this album

  32. How'd you go back to 2010 and find that?

  33. That was fun I like how they couldn't even pretend like they didn't have a crowd going when they were in disguise. You can clearly see everyone lined up in the corners I hate that it's so edited down, so I gotta check out all the other fan videos to see the full performance. Also, shout out to Kevin rocking out in the corner. I see you Kevin!

  34. I love this record! After I heard it, I played FOAM and Revrad (both of which I enjoyed) and I can say Saviors is their best work since 21CB. RevRad is good and has some killer songs, but it's also got some fluff or songs that are just okay. It's just a solid GD record and one where they kind of play it safe since it came after the trilogy. I'm a FOAM defender and while it's nowhere near their best I thought it was a fun record. It's still fun, but man I can see how weak the singles were when compared to Saviors singles. They don't hit the same way at all. FOAM really does feel like an album with good ideas that are incomplete. So many of the songs are just getting good when the songs ends. And the writing....eh. Saviors everything in ON POINT. The band sounds great, Billie's vocals sound awesome, and his writing is his strongest here. There aren't too many lines that make me cringe or roll my eyes. I find a lot of them clever (i.e. I'm with stupid/ and i'm all by myself - LOVE THAT ONE!) I have more to say, but I'm finishing up a review for a site I write for, so I'll be able to share my complete thoughts soon. But man, what a great album. Love seeing the positive reaction to as well!

  35. Say what you will but performing with Fallon (+ that it was a busking stunt) and on Howard Stern just before the album drops, not too mention the New Year's eve performance was all very good timing from a strategic/marketing point of view. They do seem to have learnt a thing or too from past tour cycles. Now, as I believe @Christian's Inferno! has also stated, I wouldn't hope for major commercial success with this record, rock really is dead in the mainstream at this point, but I think the niche category of people that casually like listening to Green Day and punk pop / alt rock will most likely have been reached with this advertising campaign, so credit where credit is due. That said, I'll reiterate what I wrote in my album review: I'm entirely past caring how this does commercially. I know for myself that it's a solid album and a worthy continuation in a line of great albums (american idiot, 21CB, Nimrod etc.). So I'm just gonna lean back and enjoy the ride, come whatever may come. The guys have well and truly earnt their spot in the hall of fame already and they've proved everything they wanted to prove.

  37. Anyway, I’m so proud of the guys for not only making a killer record, but for giving it the promo it deserves - the honest interviews, the thoughtful music videos, the listening parties, all the vinyl variants, the exclusives, even the social media stepped it up so kudos to whoever’s running that! It really says that they believe in this album.
