Setlist: - Dookie in full - American Idiot in full - King For A Day - Good Riddance24 points

Guys, this is them. This is the amalgamation of their sound. The Trilogy catchiness, the post-sober BJ soul of RevRad and even Father of All, and honestly even glimpses of what make them great with American Idiot and Dookie (sound and melodies). If it hasn't been clear for a decade or so, this is 100% their sound. This is as Green Day as it gets. You either fuck with it or maybe you don't enjoy Green Day as much as you thought, which is perfectly fine tbh.24 points

OMG WAIT. THIS LIKELY MEANS THAT 20 MINUTE KING FOR A DAY IS OFF THE SETLIST15 points

Recording this on my PC, waiting for the boys to come on. Fuck man, I just wanna sleep after they're done.12 points

remember folks, the first time ever listening of new music of a band you love is always special, the feelings we will get from our first ever listen can never be achieved again later, i think my body is not ready 😃12 points

Watching the clips from the NY metro surprise show and LMNB and Dilemma already sound like classic GD songs, such a great feeling which I didn’t have in a while ❤️12 points

I can’t believe they played that last night. We are in a subway station and we only get 5 songs and one has to be that one 🤦🏻♀️11 points

They are killing it with the promotion for Saviors!!! This makes up for the weird promotion for FOAM. YAY GREEN DAY!11 points

Hi everybody! I listened to the record two days ago, in Italy, they let us do that winning a contest through Virgin Radio. all that I can say is that this record sounds like pure Green Day, with some influences from Weezer and other GD stuff (The static age, church on Sunday in Strange days, 21 guns in Adeline…). what impressed me the most is BJ’s vocals: the best we could find in a gd record. Impressive. then, this record wanted me to listen to the trilogy remixed with these heavy and fresh sound, it should have been a masterpiece. anyway, everyone’s gonna love it, trust me. the weakest song is Corvette Summer, even if you can enjoy the tune a lot, it’s so AC/DC so nothing bad 😎 My favourites are Fancy Sauce (perfect conclusion, you can hear all the struggles BJ had during this kind of “second rehab”), Strange Days and Bobby Sox, soooo catchy. cheers!10 points

It's a great sign that almost every song of the album is someone's favorite song and at the same time someone else's least favorite song. This album really represents every GD era so far 🥰10 points

Just got into work, and one of our volunteers comes up to me excitedly telling me that she was listening to Howard Stern on the way in, and guess who was on? Green Day! And now I'm listening to her hum Basketcase.9 points

For some reason, I read AI as in "artificial intelligence" instead of "American Idiot" and I was so confused. Like... What do you mean, he wrote lyrics using ChatGPT? 😂9 points

I'd rather have them play whole saviors, and mix up dookie and american idiot songs from show to show9 points

SiriusXM usually puts up video versions of interviews on their service either later in the day or the next day. Will post that here when It's up.9 points

Man you can tell by the little things that this album was highly considered. Id love the guys to put as much consideration into everything they make going forward. Also never let Rob Cavello leave your sights haha.9 points

This era is confusing me so much because he looks SO GOOD despite being blonde8 points

I definitely think this is a great follow up to people complaining their setlists were playing to too general of a crowd. People will still find ways to complain about it, such is life in any fandom, but I think it’s a cool idea and definitely represents a huge shakeup from their more recent tours!8 points
-
Also, if they want to play albums back to front, stop bringing 3 other bands with you on tour. It's either going to be a long ass show or not enough time for non-AI/Dookie stuff.8 points

I'm surprised that Corvette Summer seems to be the least fave track amount a lot of fans who have heard the album so far. It's among one of my faves! I love that hook. Just a fun song.8 points

7.5/10 https://wallofsoundau.com/2024/01/17/green-day-saviors-album-review/amp/ “Saviors is a vast improvement on the disaster that was Father Of All… and it very much feels like Green Day are back and reclaiming their former glory. It’s a well-rounded album with a little bit of old school, a little bit of new school, and just the right amount of attitude we’ve come to expect from Billie Joe, Mike and Tre.“ They gave 4.5/10 to FOAM. 4/5 https://www.the-express.com/entertainment/music/124506/green-day-saviors-album-review/amp “Green Day’s sensational return cements bands' status as ‘Saviors’ of punk rock “8 points

Finally got to see a bit of them through my phone lens - there’s a good amount of people here. I missed the first one but then it was Basket Case, LMNB, RNRAN, and now Dilemma.8 points

They may be the worst offenders but I think they more than make up for it with their great production and great melodies. The repetition honestly doesn't bother me at all here7 points

I’m halfway through listening to this interview and it’s just fantastic. Stern speaks to them with such admiration and awe for their talent, and asks excellent, well-researched questions without ever interrupting. I noticed he started to ask if they knew Billy Corgan, but stopped to let them speak and didn’t come back to that question for like another 10 minutes. Love that. Absolutely loved the early conversation about how they first got into music and when they knew they could have careers as musicians. The stuff about Billie playing nursing homes was so cute. And the Scattered harmonizing! Gah!7 points

For so many reasons I had to hold on from buying tickets for the tour. Had to run fetching my credit card and got two golden circle tickets for the Dublin show when I read this. Fucking AI in full. Cannot wait7 points

Alright, that’s it. I take back everything I ever said about this tour. This is going to be fucking legendary. I will be there and it will be fucking amazing.7 points
-
While there are deep cuts on both albums that are going to be amazing to hear live (Coming Clean, Sassafras Roots, Give Me Novocaine) that announcement doesn't excite me because it feels like they already play half of the album songs on each tour already. Hopefully, we'll still get some Saviors stuff live.7 points
-
Thanks so much, Bill! Give all of our love to the boys and the team! What a fantastic new Green Day era! I'm super excited to see this segment.7 points
-
they must’ve made a blood oath with the devil to play it, there’s no other explanation7 points
-
The sound is the best they've ever had for me. Rob Cavallo and chris lord alge really know their stuff7 points

What about playing songs from their new album????? How will they fit that into a set list thar will play Dookie and AI front to back??? Unless they play long like they did on the 21st Century Breakdown tour.6 points

I can't believe I'll actually hear Whatsername live. Absolute bucket list moment for me.6 points
