Mike just had all kinds of praise for the Trilogy. He said he really loves Tre, describes it as the one where they were trying to get into the craft of songwriting. Uno was pure power pop and he says Dos really should have been a Foxboro Hot Tubs record. He said yeah he gets that people think it should have been condensed to one record but “when the faucet’s on you just let it keep running”.9 points

Heard it last night! Mike introduced it and was raving about how much he loves it.8 points

I’m really hoping they play and comment on Brutal Love at some point. That song is far and above one of my favorite GD tracks and so not talked about enough!6 points

Happy to help, though I will need someone to step in the week of Saviors release when I’m out of the country. I suspect that’s when we’ll start getting stories and soundbites about more Saviors tracks Also, if you follow green day inc’s Ig they’re sharing some clips: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C1Z2BKPNGAJ/?igsh=MWR1aWhhdXBhYmJ6dQ==5 points

So are we all expecting the new material to not be broadcast until after the new year? Perhaps a bit closer to release? I’d imagine whatever next single they’re choosing will probably be a big highlight first, and then the rest of the album after release. Also THANK YOU SO MUCH @pacejunkie punk for documenting the commentary on the older material! I love hearing their thoughts, and as someone who doesn’t have the service it’s very appreciated 😁5 points

In this song, I really appreciate the way Billie sings "I am so grateful, forever faithful to..." at the end of the first verse. He sings it with a sarcastic quiver that fits the message perfectly.5 points

Billie on Sirius: "Look Ma, No Brains -- Look ma, no hands - that's where the title came from. It's one of my favorite punk songs I've ever written about not having a clue."4 points
-
WHAT!! Do you remember what he said? Oh how I wish we had clips of all the commentary I could listen to somewhere!! 😭3 points

It’s weird when they play just the Song of the Century intro by itself and then go to something else3 points

Billie: “21 Guns is about releasing your ego, just giving up. Sometimes you might need more help than you think.”3 points

Wow, what an amazing surprise! THANK YOU! They DO love us! Been listening all day...hearing TRILOGY on the radio=🥰. I'm a happy girl! The snippets with their descriptions in between songs is like awesome! Please let this become a permanent thing! ❤️🔥 Love hearing Mike's insight!3 points

Listening to the sheer range of songs they're playing and the way they're mixed together makes me really appreciate their body of work. Such a range of styles and sounds. I usually listen to whole albums at a time and Spotify never gives you a deep mix like this, but the diversity they've achieved over three decades is really kind of spectacular and I love all of it. They have so much to be proud of.3 points

Billie just said something interesting on the Sirius channel. He said 200 LYA was the first song he ever wrote for Adrienne and it's interesting to hear how he went from there to Bobby Sox. So I'm guessing Bobby Sox is about her too.3 points

Omg it's so weird to hear Stray Heart followed by Take Back This is fucking ridiculous I never thought I'd hear Misery on the radio yet here we are haha3 points

Had a rare GD dream last night! I got invited to this big venue and I wasn't sure why. My mom and I are sitting there wondering what's going to happen. The lights go dim and on the stage appears...Billie! Turns out it's an exclusive pre-album release show! They were playing new songs from Saviors and showing off fancy new stage tricks like Billies face appearing on the crowd using lights. As soon as I realized what was happening I pulled out my phone to record some of the show. Everything was great 😃...and then I woke up 😑2 points

It’s the “Goddamn” that does it for me and brings the sarcasm. Goddamn I am so grateful, forever faithful to….2 points

I think we should take a moment every so often to appreciate Billies brief chubby phase in his 20s.2 points
-
Agreed. I've seen at least 2 interviews where he said it wasn't about Adrienne, yet even big name magazines/papers will say that it is. I remember one was RevRad era (him saying it wasn't about her). Maybe Stern?2 points

Billie: “Nice Guys Finish Last I’m not really sure what it’s about. It’s about - I think what it says it is. Nice guys finish last, assholes finish first.”2 points

The song has done very well overall. I was just really hoping it would get to #1 on the Alternative Airplay chart too. Let’s double our efforts!2 points

It just knocked Welcome to Paradise out to become the 10th most played GD song on Spotify. It's had really high numbers lately. Wonder if this is why.2 points
-
This is very well done so far with all of the little clips in between songs. Not surprised given SiriusXM's always high level of effort. "East Jesus Nowhere" on the radio. Ahhh, all is right in this world.2 points

So I was listening to some green day songs and I've noticed some I wouldnt say bad lyrics just something about them was off putting to the point I actually tried to blank over them just to take away the sting, first one "outlaws" which is one of my favorite songs green day have ever released but after billie says" lost souls, and follows with bottle rockets" just bothered me one he tends to use bottle rocket, alot! idk why because I think it sounds weird "carp diem" being the exception because he's singing about celebrating a moment but idk in outlaws, it felt out of place like he was just trying to finish the verse, song #2 "when it's time" awesome ballad one of billies best lyrically except, I wish he didn't say "I feel lonely for all the losers" why not sub that out with people? because I don't classify someone unable to express themselves as a "loser" more like insecure, shy, pride, but loser? no, #3 "the forgotten" pretty much the entire second verse especially "its like a child that's been left behind" It reminds me of george bush no child left behind! idk but it takes me out of the song #4 "wake me up when September ends" ya know what's coming! "Here comes the rain, again falling from the stars" wtf does that even mean? I tried to think ok he's coming from a point of view of a child at the time he actually thought rain did come from the stars? Idk though it's odd and I find myself analyzing the fk out of those lyrics, I wish billie would one day explain what he meant he's a pretty poetic writer so it had to come from somewhere right? #5 novacaine "Jimmy said it's better than here" again why not sub it out with "anywhere is better than here" i get saint jimmy is a character but the way his name is just mentioned out of nowhere always bothered me. #6 "last night on earth" 'I text a postcard to you" I seriously doubt that is the original lyric probably someone told billie it sounded cool and hip? lol because I sent a postcard to you was probably how it original was written to be or I mailed a postcard? Yeah doesn't flow as well lol #7 Jesus of suburbia live versions there's lots of kids with dirty faces" ok every time he sings it live I can never make out what he says it's definitely not those lyrics though. #8 drama queen the whole song sounds like placeholder lyrics to me there's cool instrumentation gives me penny lane vibes but man those lyrics are just awful! #9 the American dream is killing me I feel like the song is catchy but I have a problem with exactly how it's killing billie, he just moved into another big house he has alot of cool classic cars his own studio exactly how is he suffering? Lol millionaires trying to sing about the plight, of "the working class" and "homeless" always cracks me up, I get he grew up with a lower middle class background but he's been rich since the mid 90s, I mean you wanna make people aware that's cool but how about taking idk some of those millions he has and build new state of the art homeless shelters / centers where people can go not just for warmth but actually get the help they need to better their lives alcohol, drugs, mental health, problems help regaining important documents like birth certificates, state ids, social security cards, things people need to live do it in Oakland CA San Francisco I'm sure there's a lot of people living under bridges and behind store alleys that would really appreciate it billie, just call up Gavin talk to him he seems like a cool guy, be apart of the solution you know the government will never do it alone but people with money can make a difference like you and so many others how much money from the upcoming stadium tour is going to fund charities? It just feels disingenuous to me I know this was supposed to be about odd lyrical choices but I had a spontaneous moment of anger! ok back to the lyric thing now #10 any song about pissing or shitting the bed just sound gross! however I did laugh hearing it on the taco bell commercial ad. Well that's all folks feel free to post the songs you think have odd lyrical choices.1 point

There’s towns and regions the band don’t hit up live so I mean it’s not a huge deal to have a cover band fill the void.1 point
-
Nah I think all cover bands are cool to see, even if it’s a cover band for a currently active band. I saw a Green Day cover band in a bar and they didn’t sound too impressive, but they won me over when they played JOS as a 3-piece!1 point

I feel like he has done a really good job with his inflections on these new singles, especially TADIKM and Dilemma. I don’t know if he took lessons or what, but I’m loving it, and it really adds an additional layer to these songs1 point

the more i listen to 1981 the more i feel like it could be from Cigarettes & Valentines, it just has that vibe1 point

I'd say most likely considering it is basically a day before, might even play the entire album? Or sprinkle stuff in like they did in 2012, either way this setlist is gonna be amazing.1 point
-
Would they perform songs that the fans haven’t even heard? Perhaps using it as a test run to see crowd reaction so they can tinker with their setlist for upcoming shows1 point
