  1. Mike just had all kinds of praise for the Trilogy. He said he really loves Tre, describes it as the one where they were trying to get into the craft of songwriting. Uno was pure power pop and he says Dos really should have been a Foxboro Hot Tubs record. He said yeah he gets that people think it should have been condensed to one record but “when the faucet’s on you just let it keep running”.

  2. Heard it last night! Mike introduced it and was raving about how much he loves it.

  3. I’m really hoping they play and comment on Brutal Love at some point. That song is far and above one of my favorite GD tracks and so not talked about enough!

  4. Happy to help, though I will need someone to step in the week of Saviors release when I’m out of the country. I suspect that’s when we’ll start getting stories and soundbites about more Saviors tracks Also, if you follow green day inc’s Ig they’re sharing some clips: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C1Z2BKPNGAJ/?igsh=MWR1aWhhdXBhYmJ6dQ==

  5. So are we all expecting the new material to not be broadcast until after the new year? Perhaps a bit closer to release? I’d imagine whatever next single they’re choosing will probably be a big highlight first, and then the rest of the album after release. Also THANK YOU SO MUCH @pacejunkie punk for documenting the commentary on the older material! I love hearing their thoughts, and as someone who doesn’t have the service it’s very appreciated 😁

  6. In this song, I really appreciate the way Billie sings "I am so grateful, forever faithful to..." at the end of the first verse. He sings it with a sarcastic quiver that fits the message perfectly.

  7. Billie on Sirius: "Look Ma, No Brains -- Look ma, no hands - that's where the title came from. It's one of my favorite punk songs I've ever written about not having a clue."

  8. WHAT!! Do you remember what he said? Oh how I wish we had clips of all the commentary I could listen to somewhere!! 😭

  9. It’s weird when they play just the Song of the Century intro by itself and then go to something else

  10. Billie: “21 Guns is about releasing your ego, just giving up. Sometimes you might need more help than you think.”

  11. Wow, what an amazing surprise! THANK YOU! They DO love us! Been listening all day...hearing TRILOGY on the radio=🥰. I'm a happy girl! The snippets with their descriptions in between songs is like awesome! Please let this become a permanent thing! ❤️🔥 Love hearing Mike's insight!

  12. Listening to the sheer range of songs they're playing and the way they're mixed together makes me really appreciate their body of work. Such a range of styles and sounds. I usually listen to whole albums at a time and Spotify never gives you a deep mix like this, but the diversity they've achieved over three decades is really kind of spectacular and I love all of it. They have so much to be proud of.

  13. Billie just said something interesting on the Sirius channel. He said 200 LYA was the first song he ever wrote for Adrienne and it's interesting to hear how he went from there to Bobby Sox. So I'm guessing Bobby Sox is about her too.

  14. Omg it's so weird to hear Stray Heart followed by Take Back This is fucking ridiculous I never thought I'd hear Misery on the radio yet here we are haha

  17. As someone who can’t listen, I love hearing the little tidbits! Also love that they’re playing all sorts of deep cuts.

  18. Had a rare GD dream last night! I got invited to this big venue and I wasn't sure why. My mom and I are sitting there wondering what's going to happen. The lights go dim and on the stage appears...Billie! Turns out it's an exclusive pre-album release show! They were playing new songs from Saviors and showing off fancy new stage tricks like Billies face appearing on the crowd using lights. As soon as I realized what was happening I pulled out my phone to record some of the show. Everything was great 😃...and then I woke up 😑

  19. It’s the “Goddamn” that does it for me and brings the sarcasm. Goddamn I am so grateful, forever faithful to….

  20. I think we should take a moment every so often to appreciate Billies brief chubby phase in his 20s.

  21. Agreed. I've seen at least 2 interviews where he said it wasn't about Adrienne, yet even big name magazines/papers will say that it is. I remember one was RevRad era (him saying it wasn't about her). Maybe Stern?

  23. Billie: “Nice Guys Finish Last I’m not really sure what it’s about. It’s about - I think what it says it is. Nice guys finish last, assholes finish first.”

  24. The song has done very well overall. I was just really hoping it would get to #1 on the Alternative Airplay chart too. Let’s double our efforts!

  25. I forgot how much I like that song and how quirky it is.

  26. It just knocked Welcome to Paradise out to become the 10th most played GD song on Spotify. It's had really high numbers lately. Wonder if this is why.

  27. This is very well done so far with all of the little clips in between songs. Not surprised given SiriusXM's always high level of effort. "East Jesus Nowhere" on the radio. Ahhh, all is right in this world.

  29. Nah I think all cover bands are cool to see, even if it’s a cover band for a currently active band. I saw a Green Day cover band in a bar and they didn’t sound too impressive, but they won me over when they played JOS as a 3-piece!

  30. So envious you guys are getting this, even if it is by subscription.

  31. https://fb.watch/p4c3FN69yu/ Look at this. It seems like an interview recorded at the same time as the Amazon concert. Does anyone know if there's more? And if so where's available?

  32. Yeah, the one I’m thinking of was definitely somewhat recent, likely in the RevRad era.

  33. So good! Have you ever noticed hardly anyone can cover Green Day properly? You guys nail it. Awesome drummer too. What instrument do you play?

  35. They’ve played the singles, but I highly doubt that they would play any of the other songs from the album. They probably wanna save it for when the album comes out.

  38. Finally getting Trilogy songs on the radio again lol. And it’s so weird to hear songs like Sweet Children too. Very fun (Now they’re playing No One Knows. So glad it’s not just a Hella Mega playlist)

  41. My girlfriend got me Dookie on blue vinyl. 2023 is the first Christmas in years I got something this fun, woo-hoo!

  42. As a fan originating from the AI era, I can only now appreciate how little time there was between Dookie and AI. 10 years ago the boys were finishing up the trilogy tour… which doesn’t seem like that long ago to me? Crazy to think that’s the same time difference between Dookie and AI. 😱 And not to beat a dead horse, but I also can’t believe AI is going to be 20 years old. I remember when I was a “new” fan or a “bandwagoner” as MANY on this forum used to point out 😂 I feel old as fuck now.

  43. As usual I can't decide I love all three

  45. Am I the only one getting tired of these fake billie, mike, tre, accounts on their Facebook page? Be nice if Zuckerberg and co would actually put a stop to it permanently asking people to pm them come on Facebook police do your job already!

  46. When you're walking through the grocery store, and double back to see if they still have Oakland Coffee. Not to buy it, just to see if it's still there.
    1 point
  47. Absolutely. FOAMF has probably one, two at a stretch acceptable songs on it and even then they're WAAAAY down the list of songs in their entire discography. Sorry, but the rest is just garbage and if it wasn't Green Day we'd all think the same. Title? Terrible. Production? Horrible. The artwork? Unforgivable. Then you get utterly woeful nonsense like Here Comes The Shock and I'm going "these guys are finished, they've properly lost it" Then they drop the Saviors singles. Maybe they just needed to get something middle aged out of their system, but I can't say I'm not annoyed about having to experience it. 😆
