  1. Listening to the sheer range of songs they're playing and the way they're mixed together makes me really appreciate their body of work. Such a range of styles and sounds. I usually listen to whole albums at a time and Spotify never gives you a deep mix like this, but the diversity they've achieved over three decades is really kind of spectacular and I love all of it. They have so much to be proud of.

  3. https://blog.siriusxm.com/green-day-radio Starting today, Green Day brings three decades of groundbreaking punk exploration and innovation to their very own SiriusXM channel, Green Day Radio, to celebrate the release of their fourteenth studio album, Saviors. How to listen to Green Day Radio Green Day Radio will be available on channel 107 in cars and on the SiriusXM app from December 27 through January 23. What you’ll hear on Green Day Radio On Green Day Radio, you’ll hear exclusive stories and insight from Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool. They’ll not only walk you through Green Day’s biggest tracks — including recently-released album tracks and demos from the 30th anniversary deluxe edition of Dookie — but also brand new music from Saviors, with insight into every song from the new album as they become available. The band will also introduce us to music from artists that have influenced them at every level of their legendary career, including AC/DC, Hüsker Dü, Ramones, Social Distortion, and Metallica, as well as modern artists they’re into now, like Ultra Q and The Interrupters. Plus, enjoy songs from the bands joining Green Day on their Saviors Tour in 2024: Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and Linda Lindas. There’s also info about the Irving Plaza show which is a Sirius event and will be broadcast on the channel I put that in the show thread but it’s also at the link. I’ve been listening to the channel and it plays lots of cool deep tracks I’m leaving this on 24/7 it’s amazing.

  4. Finally getting Trilogy songs on the radio again lol. And it’s so weird to hear songs like Sweet Children too. Very fun (Now they’re playing No One Knows. So glad it’s not just a Hella Mega playlist)

  5. Omg it's so weird to hear Stray Heart followed by Take Back This is fucking ridiculous I never thought I'd hear Misery on the radio yet here we are haha

  6. Sirius voiceover: "DIY DNA and a three decade musical adventure" I love that description of them

  7. They’re playing Fuck Time 😂😂😂 Why can’t this be a permanent station?

  8. Mike just had all kinds of praise for the Trilogy. He said he really loves Tre, describes it as the one where they were trying to get into the craft of songwriting. Uno was pure power pop and he says Dos really should have been a Foxboro Hot Tubs record. He said yeah he gets that people think it should have been condensed to one record but “when the faucet’s on you just let it keep running”.

  9. Billie just said something interesting on the Sirius channel. He said 200 LYA was the first song he ever wrote for Adrienne and it's interesting to hear how he went from there to Bobby Sox. So I'm guessing Bobby Sox is about her too.

  11. It's complete garbage and not real, but I came across this in my adventures tonight: NOT REAL

  12. This is very well done so far with all of the little clips in between songs. Not surprised given SiriusXM's always high level of effort. "East Jesus Nowhere" on the radio. Ahhh, all is right in this world.

  13. It is very strange - but incredibly delightful - to hear the mix of songs from all the eras here. Something that not even ones Spotify shuffle is good at doing.

  15. Wow, this is really cool! Really really love all the effort going into hyping this new album and celebrating the anniversaries. They deserve it!

  19. Look at Billie's reaction when he lets the fans sing on the last chorus!! He clearly knows they've all seen the video of the Quebec performance!!! This one will clearly be a fan favorite on the tour!!!!!

  20. I was listening to Blonde on Blonde yesterday (which Billie said he was listening to when making Warning), and it did remind me of Misery (which is one of my favorite GD songs).

  21. Platypus! This is making me fall in love with this band all over again. I wonder how many new fans it might bring in or if it helps their streaming numbers too.

  22. That was the original release date, but it was changed right before the announcement. So yeah, must be an older interview where they got some info that eventually became outdated.

  23. Awesome! I don’t have SiriusXM anymore but hopefully some clips go on YouTube.

  24. thank goodness you said it wasn't real, i would have believed it

  25. I'd say most likely considering it is basically a day before, might even play the entire album? Or sprinkle stuff in like they did in 2012, either way this setlist is gonna be amazing.

  26. They did. Since they already announced Dilemma, my guess is two from Dookie, two from AI and Dilemma and that’s the five

  27. https://www.instagram.com/p/C1U9HEfJRoS/?igsh=ZDhuN2F4azVqbTBr 3 separate performances celebrating Dookie, American Idiot, and Saviors!!! I wonder if this means they’ll debut any of the new songs like Father to a Son in the Saviors set

  31. The song has done very well overall. I was just really hoping it would get to #1 on the Alternative Airplay chart too. Let’s double our efforts!

  32. You can't, I checked. I'll be in Europe the week the album comes out and I won't be able to listen to the broadcast of the show until I get back

  33. Just turned it on and Stray Heart was playing 🔥

  34. They’ve played the singles, but I highly doubt that they would play any of the other songs from the album. They probably wanna save it for when the album comes out.

  37. In a recent interview about Dilemma he talked about being 17 months sober currently which means he was using or drinking again post Revrad and I fully believe now that FOAM was a relapse album and influenced by his state at the time.

  38. Look what was available on Air France Not American Idiot or Dookie, but that. Right?! The trilogy feels like a maximum of three years ago... It's funny that it's cool to like American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown now, because it absolutely was not at the time

  42. My guess is that they play TADIKM and Dilemma from Saviors, a few from Dookie and a few from American Idiot over the piece. Hope I'm wrong though and we get at least one new one and a couple of the lesser played classics from Dookie and Idiot.

  43. Dilemma live will be fun. Hopefully Billie can hit all the notes.

  44. The music industry has never protected musicians with regards to substances, they’ve provided and encouraged it as part of the lifestyle and to endure the demands of touring etc. But I don’t know if I would call the Post Malone thing promotion, you have to give Billie some responsibility for his choices there. There’s no evidence he was “used” in any way. Personally I put greater responsibility on management and label for the use of cocaine imagery in their advertising.

  45. What still shocks me about the FOAM era is, that they used Billie - someone who is struggeling with alcohol addiction for decades - to play beer pong with Post Malone just for promotion. I mean, shouldn't the management also try to protect the musicians and not just look for possibilities to earn money?

  46. My girlfriend got me Dookie on blue vinyl. 2023 is the first Christmas in years I got something this fun, woo-hoo!

  47. As a fan originating from the AI era, I can only now appreciate how little time there was between Dookie and AI. 10 years ago the boys were finishing up the trilogy tour… which doesn’t seem like that long ago to me? Crazy to think that’s the same time difference between Dookie and AI. 😱 And not to beat a dead horse, but I also can’t believe AI is going to be 20 years old. I remember when I was a “new” fan or a “bandwagoner” as MANY on this forum used to point out 😂 I feel old as fuck now.
