I think December is a hard month for a lot of people at job before going into the Christmas vacation. And then the vacation with the family, friends, love ones. But I'm sure this forum will be very active on January 19th9 points

Agreed @Little Boy Named Booze. They’re filling December wisely — they’ve done more short interviews with radios and international morning shows than I can count, and the magazine interviews are rolling in. They’re playing Dick Clark’s NYE. But they don’t want to get lost in the holiday shuffle when people’s minds are elsewhere (plus I’m sure have their own holiday commitments). I’m confident in early January, when the album is close to coming out or already out, they’ll be on late night circuit and stuff. We also have reason to believe Billie will have a couple in-depth podcast interviews.7 points

Song has grown on me a lot too. Which is good news. It has a lot of replay value and stuff going on to notice.5 points

Sorry a bit niche, but just found this cool article from 2018 about a gig Green Day played back in 1991 at the Wee Red Bar, the student union at Edinburgh College of Art (Scotland). I hadn’t realised they’d ever played in Edinburgh before and I used to go to this (queer friendly) bar all the time. https://glasgowmusiccitytours.com/blog/the-night-green-day-played-the-wee-red-bar/ Apparently they made a profit of £21 that night and Mike looked after one of the fans as they puked in the toilets after the show.5 points

We waited so long for new green day but weird how this forum went dead after a week of release. I still love this song, it's grown on me so much, I adore Billie's voice here and even more I am so glad the video is so fun and features a lot of Billie XD I just don't see why they are not promoting their new stuff heavily. Go play secret shows, go on television or even play at home and upload it on youtube. I am dying to hear Dilemma live.4 points

For years it's been known that JAR was written around the Dookie years but based off the engineering team for JAR we know it recorded during the Insomniac sessions. They probably just chose to include it with Dookie because that's when it was originally written and the albums were recorded pretty close together anyway4 points

I would love if they would release a proper HD version of this for Warning's 25th Anniversary.3 points

Too bad it's censored- "sick boy and I shit the bed" is just so perfect for a Taco Bell ad3 points

When you play them so often in the car on the way to and from work that your friend/colleague that you give a ride to has probably just as much knowledge of their back catalogue as you do 😂2 points

Let’s all commit to streaming the video on YouTube 10 times tomorrow! That’s totally doable.2 points

Fever and DJD were finished for FOAM and never released. OEB was recorded in late 2020. This was said 1000 times here, and you're still creating theories based on the voices of your heads2 points

That's because it started as 1,972 Bratwursts, turned into Do Da Da Part 2 for a second and then when Tre Cool took Billie's writing ketchup and poured it over the masters of Cigerettes and Valentines.....Fancy Sauce was born!!!!1 point

Im on the mission. I miss times when Green day used to get tons of views. Kinda feels weird seeing how Dilemma still hasn't hit million views even though you can tell a lot of effort was put into making it.1 point

GD fans are an older crowd now with jobs and shit to do. We’re probably a bit of a smaller crowd now as well. I think tour time will usually be the busier time as people will want to know details before the shows they go to. What time did they go on? What did they play etc1 point

This. Everyone is literally fighting over a slight technicality. What do we think the difference between the demo and finalized version is? Maybe 12-18 months? Maybe less? Hey Tim, Jerry Finn actually mixed Dookie and was definitely a big part of the sound as he was on any record he worked on. Jerry Finn was incredible if you look at all his work. What a legacy to leave behind and big shoes to fill in for those at the time rising up in the industry. RIP Jerry Finn, not a a day goes by where I don’t hear you guitar tones in my head. Learned a lot from him for my own rig. CLA was the next big thing but that’s also when compression started plaguing mixes. He’s amazing though.1 point

So curious just exactly what the fancy sauce is that goes on said Bratwurst 🤔1 point

He had no involvement with Dookie, except he mixed the record..1 point

JAR was recorded during the Insomniac sessions as Jerry Finn had no involvement with Dookie at all however a few years ago some blog site did an article about the Angus soundtrack and they mentioned that Green Day “was working on an album and during a break recorded JAR for the use of the soundtrack” (not an exact exact quote just going by memory) so from the sounds of it was never meant for Insomniac as Liam mentioned since it was demoed around Dookie era with the possibility it could’ve ended up on Dookie they probably just associate it more with that album than Insomniac when it sounds like they never considered using it for Insomniac1 point

Fancy Sauce will be the best Green Day song in the History of Green Day song ever1 point

That interview is so Ted Lasso coded. 😂 I think it’s cool he co-owns a local soccer team. Must suck to have lost so many major league teams in Oakland in the last few years.1 point

People hear 10 seconds of the song on YouTube quality and IS enough for know the production and récording sessions 😂. WoW!!! For years i read "experts" here saying that j.a.r. was from insomniac sessions and this year It was reveled that was from dookie1 point

The Armstrong’s, If There Was Ever A Time came on my playlist and Billie sounds so good in that song. Not sure if it’s partly the contrast between Tim and him but his voice just rings. Much as I love growls Billie, I hope for a track that sounds like pure Billie.1 point

I’m pretty sure Billie just figured out how to include song lyrics on Instagram stories because he’s doing it constantly now. 😂 His cropping of the tour poster with songs from each band is cracking me up. His dorky social media usage is endlessly charming and amusing to me.1 point

They praised the donots and they totally derserve it. They‘re one of the best live bands in Germany and never disappointed me during a show. They booked Green Day back in 1992(?) in their hometown and Ingo (Singer) said Green Day never forgot about it, thats why Green Day asked them to open for them in 2010. You should listen to them, don’t worry, most records are in English 😂1 point

Boy, every song we've heard so far has just knocked it out of the park! I like Rev Rad a lot and I love the Trilogy, but I have a feeling this will be their best album since 21CB. I wonder how much it has to do with them working with Rob again or just moving on to a new headspace after getting FOAM out of their systems. Probably a combination of the two.1 point

I need saviors in my life can't believe I'm actually excited about a new album been sometime but if any band could bring that kinda enthusiasm out it's green day even after foam it all started with the snippets from the studio although there wasn't any vocals just the energy of the instrumentals got me hooked and I can't wait to hear the finished product1 point

It’s such a trip seeing all these interviews where they’re playing clips of American Idiot music videos going, “yeah, 20 years ago!” Green Day is by far the artist I’ve been a fan of the longest, and it is really the strangest feeling looking back at old music videos or their old award show performances and thinking, “oh yeah, I remember watching that live on tv when I was 12.” It’s quite disorienting, and almost bittersweet that I’ve lived so much life with them. And I’m a “young” fan!1 point

This song has been in my head all weekend. Billie’s gruff vocal styling during the chorus of the song is a smart choice - you can hear the frustration.1 point

Green Day's monthly listeners are up a little bit. Nice! This video has me thinking about how being famous must make this struggle even harder for Billie Joe. I might want to spend a 2000 dollars at bar on some nights, but I can't. My wildest nights were probably a couple hundred in boozing. Billie could transform every patron into an alcoholic if he wanted to. And even if money wasn't so free flowing for him, his fame probably gets him TONS of free drinks. Like in the video where somebody's just pouring it into him! Imagine being Billie's bartender. Do you cut him off? CAN you cut him off without serious problems from drunk Billie? Bartenders of GDC - how do you handle Billie Joe plopping into the stool directly in front of you and getting closer and closer to iheart radio meltdown level? That's tough. I guess if Mike or Tre or someone else in their camp was around, I'd politely talk to them since their used to it - and see how I could deal with it without a scene. I'd go to Mike, say "hey, Bill is getting a bit out of sorts. Can you help him out a little, maybe hitch him a ride out of here pretty soon?" This hypothetical That Bartender Dude is just trying to avoid getting his LIGHTS OUT by his favorite band. What if Tre Cool comes up behind me and smashed a chair and a liquor bottle over my head and Billie starts licking it off my chrome dome?1 point
