Remember the good ole days when we never thought this album would come out?9 points

Boy, every song we've heard so far has just knocked it out of the park! I like Rev Rad a lot and I love the Trilogy, but I have a feeling this will be their best album since 21CB. I wonder how much it has to do with them working with Rob again or just moving on to a new headspace after getting FOAM out of their systems. Probably a combination of the two.7 points

Fans making much ado about nothing created the mystery I guess. The bottom line is it was a working title I like the part about Rob Cavallo digging out TADIKM and saying let’s do this one, it has potential. Cavallo saving the day once again. What they said about the role of a producer as critic is true and in their case very necessary. You can hear the difference between when they have that (Cavallo) and when they don’t (Walker or self produced)7 points

God, suddenly I feel like I’ve gone from “WHERE ARE THE INTERVIEWS” to wait, I can’t keep up. 😂6 points

In the name of the wee green man, album 14 isn't actually released yet and folk are off speculating about 15 and 16! Looking at you @That Dude for starting this madness 😂5 points

I really feel like “I like the mystery part of it all” actually just translates to “we renamed the album.” 😂4 points

As far as I know someone collects them throughout the show and they're the ones Tre throws out into the crowd3 points

He admits he was very hands off for the Trilogy. They had been estranged for a bit, they were just getting reacquainted again and I don't think he wanted to rock the boat. He gave advice when asked and otherwise just provided support. If he had really been in full on producer mode who knows what we would've gotten. He may have gotten the material cut down to a tight double album or something.3 points

Thank you for sharing the Alt Press interview! What a great one. And those photos…really make me want to drop $30 or however much it was to buy a copy. 😅 This album sounds quite poignant and vulnerable. Billie describes even Father to a Son as uncomfortable to talk about, which is really interesting (and terrifying lol) to me. It seems like a really heavy record. Not in the way of “the band felt very anxious and pressured making this” like 21CB, but more like yeah, there’s some stuff we probably should talk about honestly. At least, that’s certainly the impression I get from the journalist’s description combined with Dilemma.3 points

They praised the donots and they totally derserve it. They‘re one of the best live bands in Germany and never disappointed me during a show. They booked Green Day back in 1992(?) in their hometown and Ingo (Singer) said Green Day never forgot about it, thats why Green Day asked them to open for them in 2010. You should listen to them, don’t worry, most records are in English 😂2 points

Yes but where would it end? Practically there’s no way they could keep that up so the only thing to do is ignore them all and eventually people see what’s real.2 points

I need saviors in my life can't believe I'm actually excited about a new album been sometime but if any band could bring that kinda enthusiasm out it's green day even after foam it all started with the snippets from the studio although there wasn't any vocals just the energy of the instrumentals got me hooked and I can't wait to hear the finished product2 points

It’s such a trip seeing all these interviews where they’re playing clips of American Idiot music videos going, “yeah, 20 years ago!” Green Day is by far the artist I’ve been a fan of the longest, and it is really the strangest feeling looking back at old music videos or their old award show performances and thinking, “oh yeah, I remember watching that live on tv when I was 12.” It’s quite disorienting, and almost bittersweet that I’ve lived so much life with them. And I’m a “young” fan!2 points

When they started teasing, I wonder if they thought at one point the release would be in 2022 to, as we thought, celebrate their 50th birthdays. At first, we thought it would be a 6 song EP and now we're getting a 15 song album!!!2 points

On 1972: “sometimes there’s an idea that we floated, and it fell into something else” Adds credence to the theory that they abandoned whatever 1972 was and reworked it into Saviors. Possibly aligns timeline wise with when they brought Cavallo into the project?2 points

Something can be an outtake from one album and re-recorded for a later album. Happens all the time.2 points

Pretty sure 25th anniversary editions are more likely for Warning and AI. Insomniac & Nimrod got 25 year albums. Additionally, it seems really weird to wait 5 years before giving us another anniversary album since we got Insomniac, Nimrod and Dookie within a pretty short period of time. I'm pretty sure Dookie was supposed to get a 25th anniversary release but was delayed to its 30th. Seems like that album getting an anniversary edition for its 30th is an exception to the rule. I can see the 25th anniversary editions of Warning and American Idiot coming out in 2025 and 2029 respectively, and then in 2034 the 25th anniversary edition of 21CB1 point

I don't want to get off topic from Saviors, so we better go ahead and open up an Album 15 Speculation thread. Or an All Possible Future Albums Thread. 😄 In relation to Saviors, it's always weird to think about the next album because there's no way to know what they could possibly come up with next. The big thing now is that the insiders said there were multiple projects being worked on. A side project album or a pinhead gunpowder record. Like soldiers from a long lost war...we haven't forgotten.1 point

In conversation with AltPress Editor-in-Chief Anna Zanes, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool unravel their expansive, almost maplike forthcoming album. Additionally, the trio talk about returning to the studio with Rob Cavallo, dusting off the Dookie 4-tracks, and reveal what’s kept them undefeated after all these years. “We’ve known each other for so long, and we started making a mess together at such a young age, and it’s just continued and evolved since then,” Armstrong says. “I think that’s really rare now. You realize, now, how grateful you are that you’re able to have that experience.” https://www.altpress.com/green-day-alternative-press-winter-2023-cover-announcement/?fbclid=IwAR3Lb5cdvST7jbc_5NV2kqSXw-hKzn0piQUZLAdT7cu_vtK0POwqAIJoVHk1 point

At 949,974,541, Basket Case is Green Day’s most streamed song on Spotify and almost at 1 billion streams! I wonder if Spotify recognizes that somehow with a trophy or bonus.1 point

Just remembered this piece where Zac Carper (Alice Baxley’s brother & FIDLAR singer) said that BJ helped him kick his heroin addiction. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/how-green-days-billie-joe-helped-fidlar-singer-kick-heroin-make-new-lp-52359/amp/ In another article (Consequence of Sound) he said: “I probably wouldn’t be sober today if Billie Joe didn’t call. He really helped me when no one else was there.”1 point

Something can be a FOAMF outtake and still get released later. Isn't the fact that it's not on the actual album and instead just a bonus track more proof that it is just sort of an outtake that was thrown on there?1 point

Fuck it I bought one. YOLO! anyone else intrigued by the “map like” description?1 point
