  1. New Alt Press interview: https://www.altpress.com/green-day-saviors-interview/?fbclid=PAAaYt3ziq66cdeyHY7XjW_J6cqedU09oTP1c7AO7V6G2npedDJnoZZxCfz80_aem_AVArM7UjOsluNJqcHQswsoLj9ohdgEkDNcKNxiaE4O3AJbHbAYr1OMMs0VYhlTwRbRo Some great photos and they finally talk about 1972! The first journalist to bring it up, bless him

  2. Fans making much ado about nothing created the mystery I guess. The bottom line is it was a working title I like the part about Rob Cavallo digging out TADIKM and saying let’s do this one, it has potential. Cavallo saving the day once again. What they said about the role of a producer as critic is true and in their case very necessary. You can hear the difference between when they have that (Cavallo) and when they don’t (Walker or self produced)

  3. This song has been in my head all weekend. Billie’s gruff vocal styling during the chorus of the song is a smart choice - you can hear the frustration.

  4. Why? They have all the money they need and love making music. They make more on touring anyway.

  5. He admits he was very hands off for the Trilogy. They had been estranged for a bit, they were just getting reacquainted again and I don't think he wanted to rock the boat. He gave advice when asked and otherwise just provided support. If he had really been in full on producer mode who knows what we would've gotten. He may have gotten the material cut down to a tight double album or something.

  6. Thank you for sharing the Alt Press interview! What a great one. And those photos…really make me want to drop $30 or however much it was to buy a copy. 😅 This album sounds quite poignant and vulnerable. Billie describes even Father to a Son as uncomfortable to talk about, which is really interesting (and terrifying lol) to me. It seems like a really heavy record. Not in the way of “the band felt very anxious and pressured making this” like 21CB, but more like yeah, there’s some stuff we probably should talk about honestly. At least, that’s certainly the impression I get from the journalist’s description combined with Dilemma.

  7. I need saviors in my life can't believe I'm actually excited about a new album been sometime but if any band could bring that kinda enthusiasm out it's green day even after foam it all started with the snippets from the studio although there wasn't any vocals just the energy of the instrumentals got me hooked and I can't wait to hear the finished product

  9. I liked the energy of this one - reflective and relaxed.

  12. album performance has never stopped them before. Dos, Tre and Father of All sold less than the other albums, but Green Day continue. I think even if the wheels fall off, even if they get cancelled and everyone on the planet starts hating them.....Billie will continue to make music.

  13. They put it right at the end of the show, I had to wait a whole hour only for there to be like 5 minutes left of the show and they used that time up so poorly.

  15. God, suddenly I feel like I’ve gone from “WHERE ARE THE INTERVIEWS” to wait, I can’t keep up. 😂

  16. When they started teasing, I wonder if they thought at one point the release would be in 2022 to, as we thought, celebrate their 50th birthdays. At first, we thought it would be a 6 song EP and now we're getting a 15 song album!!!

  20. I definitely hear Weezer aspects in Dilemma. Not an ounce of Linkin Park though.

  21. Since they mentioned they’d like to come to Australia in 2025, I’m guessing they’re planning to keep touring for a while, or at least keep doing festivals into 2025. So I’m gonna throw out…2027! The late 2020s don’t even sound real. Time is weird. 😂 I don’t think it’s really an “if,” just a “when.” They’re a forever kind of band, they’re not gonna stop making new music in their early 50s. I agree with you that the reception of the new album could potentially influence how they continue marketing themselves this cycle (focusing on the anniversaries, the new stuff, or both), which could I guess also influence tour plans, but it won’t stop them from eventually putting out more music.

  22. Just had brunch at the diner where the opening scene in Reservoir Dogs was shot. Was wearing my Oakland Coffee t-shirt. Waitress asked if that was Billie Joe's coffee company. We're everywhere!

  23. At severe risk of stealing @That Dude’s role, I think Billie needs to write a song about relationships within the band called Dirty Sex and sing about how they’ve been answering the same question now for about 15 years now and how you need to keep the fights clean. Sadly I don’t feel up to attempting actual lyrics 😂😂

  25. It’s such a trip seeing all these interviews where they’re playing clips of American Idiot music videos going, “yeah, 20 years ago!” Green Day is by far the artist I’ve been a fan of the longest, and it is really the strangest feeling looking back at old music videos or their old award show performances and thinking, “oh yeah, I remember watching that live on tv when I was 12.” It’s quite disorienting, and almost bittersweet that I’ve lived so much life with them. And I’m a “young” fan!

  30. I can do that for you, but badly. Since my voice and guitar skills are so horrible, how about a $400,000 discount? Just for you - 1 million even. I will fly to wherever you want me to perform, all inclusive. Billie probably wouldn't do that so that is my offer. But yes, Green Day Unplugged would be amazing. Covers, super deep cuts. No funeral flowers though. Maybe zombies stumbling around, less morbid. 😄

  32. holy please! just rewatched this (those memories, jesus) trilogy-love always appreciated! and just watched the RadioBob interview, glad that we in germany are the reason for greendays famous long sets 😄 in this 1991 "tour" they even played at my uni campus in Mainz, in a small crib like 924 gilman street

  34. Someone on Youtube is saying that "Goodnight Adeline", is the full version of "That Just Happened", from Cuarto. If so, I can't wait. Ever since I heard that instrumental, i've been hoping for a full version with vocals some day. The instrumental alone is so fucking emotional. 🥹

  38. looks like the did the AUS tv circuit. They finally got asked when they will be touring down here and the answer was "hopefully 2025" aside from that no real new info. The interviewers are general entertainment personalities so there was never going to be anything hard hitting or in depth haha

  39. I remember they had some pretty cool BTS videos for the making of AI era music videos, was kinda hoping for that with this video. Would love to know how they brainstormed the concept with the director and the technical aspect of how Billie felt wearing that camera! Since the song and video are personal and more specific to Billie than the other band members, I’m hoping he talks about it in the podcasts he’s seemingly doing soon.

  40. When the video switched to color, my brain was split right down the middle between, “wow what a simple yet brilliant way to tell this story” and “GREEN EYES OOOH!” 😂 I simultaneously have too many thoughts and no thoughts when it comes to Green Day lmao.

  42. Nothing about a tour unfortunately 😕 https://fxtwitter.com/theprojecttv/status/1733767138349916496?s=20 Here's the video I wish actual fans of the bands were the only people allowed to interview them, such a waste of time otherwise

  45. Still Breathing is the most obvious comparison here, but I think it’s really interesting to compare this to Lazy Bones. Lazy Bones is such an amazing song that really disturbingly captures the mindset addiction comes with, but a less realistic one: “I don’t want your sympathy, I don’t want your honesty, I just wanna get some peace of mind.” It’s a neat juxtaposition from, “welcome to my problems, it’s not an invitation.”
