  1. Maybe Father to a Son will be a good one to release alongside the album when they’re in the thick of promo? Maybe it’s one that they’ll want to highlight when they perform on late night shows and stuff. I’ve really been wanting to hear Dilemma, so I’d love it if dropped soon.

  2. I'm just not really a fan of the party stuff. I can't relate to it, and god love them but it always feels a bit forced to me, ie the opposite of what they probably want to convey. Tre is my favourite Trilogy album because I like more of the songs and I think that has the least amount of 'drugs fun party' songs. I loved RevRad and agree that Saviors feels like a follow up. That said I do actually like most of the FOAM songs! And controversial take, I love Fire Ready Aim. I just do. Simple and catchy. 1. Graffitia 2. Fire Ready Aim 3. Meet Me On The Roof 4. Oh Yeah 5. Father of All 6. Sugar Youth 7. Junkies On A High 8. Take The Money And Crawl 9. I Was A Teenage Teenager 10. Stab You In The Heart The tricky thing as well is that a bad Green Day song to me is still better than most other songs by anyone, lmao. These are all still listenable to me!!

  5. How did Green Day put it on the map? Ocean Way has been around since the 60’s Beach Boys Pet Sounds was famously recorded there California Dreamin was recorded there too In their heydays Rolling Stones Elvis Presley Elton John Frank Sinatra etc all recorded at Oceans Way it was a nice studio the Nashville location is still open

  10. I think calling FOAM a "fun party album" doesn't really do it justice. I mean, I really wouldn't call any of the songs party songs, there's a darkness underneath all of them that I think elevates them beyond that. The only song that might fit that description is Meet Me on the Roof?

  11. I would keep the lyrics of Eulogy the same. It was written that way for a reason. and the way it’s written is not offensive it’s literally a quote. It’s in the same vein as going over the words of a threat in court. The court is not going to censor what was said as that affects the ability to get an accurate verdict.

  13. I'm not complaining about the use of the n word in American Eulogy. I honestly don't care at all and don't enjoy the song any less because of its inclusion in the song. But the n word is like the no. 1 "don't use" word, especially in 2023. You're right that the line in Holiday is arguably way worse than the line in American Eulogy. But because Billie is bisexual, most people who would have an issue with that kind of line will be ok with that. Additionally, the use of the word in American Idiot first implies that "Maybe I am a f*****. But that's ok. At least I'm not part of a redneck agenda", so when it comes up again in Holiday (along with the Sieg Heil) we can see that this is the other side talking, the bigoted/redneck agenda side. While these are obviously edgy lines, I don't think the intention in Holiday was JUST shock value. We can argue about which line sounds worse but I really don't think American Eulogy is ever going to be played live again, and I wouldn't want them to just replace the lyric either because I don't think they could replace it with anything that hits as hard. I'm not saying American Eulogy shouldn't ever be played live, just that it won't ever be played live

  16. And if you look up the album on Amazon music it shows TADIKM, Look Ma, Dilemma and that’s it. So it’s looking very likely

  26. Random Green Day thought just popped in there, like the Stay Puffed Marshmallow man. How about a youtube video about the fashion of Green Day? A look at each era, maybe ranking them from tackiest to classiest? Fashion Victim - Green Day!

  33. Indeed... Maybe they're banking on the success of Still Breathing, which was similarly themed? Still, I would have thought Father to a son would be a no brainer as a single myself.

  34. A lot of talk about Dilemma being the next single on Reddit, the Apple Music runtime for the singles matching with the current two if you add Dilemma’s runtime to them.

  35. Yeah and thats another issue altogether. Almost 7 mins of American Idiot and 9 minutes of Hitchin A Ride. King for a Day, Knowledge, bringing a kid on stage, classic rock medleys etc. I like when they do the Tre drum solos or when they did the little jazz thing during AI so if you wanna do something different do that instead. I think I just clipped off a good 26 minutes or so…. Let’s get a trilogy song in, EJN, an early GD song, another insomniac song and maybe something else from Warning?

  37. Thank you so much for doing this amazing project!!! The music video for "Walking Contradiction" was filmed in April 1996 and directed by Roman Coppola. Here is a very cool behind the scenes picture from Eddie Braun (who is the stuntman that did the insane car police jump in the video)! https://www.instagram.com/p/Cu7oRXHuGrX/ A very cool youtuber did a location video on the music video for "When I Come Around" 😃

  41. Whatever it is, it seems film related versus a still shoot. Could be a music video or could they be pre-recording a TV appearance for December?

  42. Saviors does in every way sound like the true successor to RevRad. It feels like it’ll be a very solid Green Day album. FOAM I really have trouble considering a Green Day album, because it doesn’t feel like it was meant to be one. I’m all for them trying new stuff and experimenting, but it felt very much like the noodled around in the studio and decided to release it for funsies. When they’re making an effort like normal, it’s apparent. FOAM was not that, lol. Part of me wonders if that identity crisis of an album came from just not knowing where to take the band next. After everything that happened with the trilogy, a return to form and a reflective, personal album probably felt necessary and like the correct next step. Post-RevRad, maybe how to follow-up was less obvious so they just decided to do a severe turn in the opposite direction.
