  7. I hope he’s back. Like that man who wrote a handwritten letter to a grandma for buying Dookie for her grandson. I hopes just plain back and not worrying about tiptoeing around assholes. I love passionate public commentary Billie!

  8. The 21CB tour opener still gives me goosebumps after all this years. Would die for it if they decide to bring this one back.

  9. Hi all Here's just a little tease Picture of a video I'm working on one of the locations from the video Walking Contradiction some 27 years later. stay tuned -OB https://tinypic.host/image/walking-contradiction-locations-27-years-later.XRnGO

  10. Makes perfect sense why Mike said "If these walls could talk."

  11. That's both sad and cool the band who put it on the map recorded there last though

  12. That's incredible! I would love a list of Green Day related locations. If there is anything closer than California I would love to visit it. Anything in the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee area that is Green Day related? Those are Day trips whereas all the super cool Billie Joe smoking a joint in your living room stuff is waaaaaaaay out there. I did the maths and it's exactly 2000 light-years away. Away.

  13. Thank you so much for doing this amazing project!!! The music video for "Walking Contradiction" was filmed in April 1996 and directed by Roman Coppola. Here is a very cool behind the scenes picture from Eddie Braun (who is the stuntman that did the insane car police jump in the video)! https://www.instagram.com/p/Cu7oRXHuGrX/ A very cool youtuber did a location video on the music video for "When I Come Around" 😃

  14. My kind of post! The Network should get a stab at a remix as well. I Was A Teenage Van Gough.

  15. I would do anything to hear Before The Lobotomy or 21CB live again!

  16. I think this is it - he also mentioned there was a lot of fighting and conflict within the band as they were recording. In an attempt to top AI the band pushed themselves a lot with 21st CB. As Billie described it, he felt like someone was holding a gun to his head while recording, but he was also the one holding the gun.

  17. I'm down for that, hell, take it a step further and release it as an EP 1. I Was a Teenage Teenager 2. I Was a Teenage Teenager (demo) 3. I Was a Teenage Teenager (live from Tré Cool's Garage) 4. I Was a Teenage Teenager (Extended Version) 5. I Was a Teenage Teenager ft. Lil' Chicken (Steve Aoki Remix)

  18. True but oddly I also thought the opposite— that this is just the kind of thing to make him turn off comments or take his account down again. You can never tell with him

  19. Yeah and thats another issue altogether. Almost 7 mins of American Idiot and 9 minutes of Hitchin A Ride. King for a Day, Knowledge, bringing a kid on stage, classic rock medleys etc. I like when they do the Tre drum solos or when they did the little jazz thing during AI so if you wanna do something different do that instead. I think I just clipped off a good 26 minutes or so
. Let’s get a trilogy song in, EJN, an early GD song, another insomniac song and maybe something else from Warning?

  21. The issue is that their set has been set at 2 hrs for a while and they keep releasing albums. The pool of songs grow but the set remains the same. Although I agree 21cb isn’t represented as well as some other records. I do like 21cb as a track but not sure where that could fit. If GD went down the path of adding an intermission to their show they could extend the set a bit and fit something like this in to start set 2. I would also like to see EJN added back in. Good live song.

  22. Well, they always play two of the worst songs of that record, 21 Guns and Know Your Enemy. I remember the 21stCB Tour, they played a lot of songs of that record and deep cuts of the others... Now their set list are only singles.

  28. FOAM is pretty fun. They should be proud of it. Experimenting is great and it turned out to be a good album, just not what we wanted after RevRad. Now with Saviors it seems we're getting just that.
    1 point
  29. That’s because foam is awesome and all the haters don’t know what they’re talking about 😂

  30. perhaps instead of the picture used on the album cover they should have used the picture from Warning but all three of them are photoshopped to be shirtless and wearing nipple tassels
    1 point
  31. LOL @Montclare I was reading that section thinking “uhh, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen the nipple tassels they’re talking about somehow?”

  32. Plus we see both Billie and Tre in the first 15 seconds here.

  33. And is it really new? Because that just seemed like something that was a forgone conclusion, like, yeah, that's something I assumed already happened hundreds of times 😄

  34. The first interviewer to ask them about 1972 goes straight into the hall of fame.
    1 point
  35. I wanted to hear about more of the specific tracks. I guess we'll never know why they teased #1972 for so long I like the way he said that the way to really judge what fans think of songs is to hear the crowd reaction when you play them live. Glad they don't pay attention to all the internet noise. (But that said, wish they had played more of the album live)

  36. For a long time, they had a habit of being like, “oh, we don’t want to do things like that last album,” in interviews in a way that felt very
anxious and not super healthy. Like they were constantly reacting to what came before and their perceived failings of whatever the previous era was, trying to prove what they’re not anymore, instead of just looking to the future. I am not a FOAM fan, but I think the mindset they have now seems a lot healthier.

  37. Great interview, love to hear them happy, excited and fired up. Hearing about the “brilliant album” and “fantastic tracks” is very exciting. Can’t wait to hear it all. I predict in 10 years or so, you Foam haters will be sounding like so many people about Warning or Nimrod. Now those are photos we want him to share 😂😂

  38. Great interview, but nothing new except that Billie putted nipple tassels on and shaked it

  40. I think Billie said in the Amazon audio book that he has a really hard time listening to this album because he was in a bad psychological shape while recording the album. Would make sense to me. But beside that it's my favorite GD album and I also hope that they play more songs of the album at the upcoming tour!

  41. “Father Of All
was one of those moments where we were like, ‘Let’s try something new.’ We learned so much from it, and it’s like it has a baby called Saviors!” Billie, I beg you to not describe the album as a FOAMF baby. Looking forward to the full interview!

  43. In my case, if Green Day hadn't collaborated with the Beat Saber, I might have ended up without a connection to them for the rest of my life, so thanks for that. If possible, I would love to see them release the DLC for SAVIORS. But I just think it was crazy to collaborate with Hooters in Japan when DOS was released😂 https://iflyer.tv/article/2012/11/12/green-day-hooters-dos/
