The song is at #5 on the Mediabase Alternative chart, with less than a week of airplay. Also at #7 on Active Rock.10 points

Spotify streams for TADIKM Day 1 - 248k Day 2 - 487k (+239k) Day 3 - 663k (+176k) Day 4 - 1,078k (+415k) Day 5 - 1,313k (+235k) Spotify updated again. The performance has kept pretty consistent rather than just completely dropping off after the first couple days but I think it's clear that this isn't going to be a big hit for the band. Doubt it'll even surpass the streams of their other post-trilogy hits, namely Still Breathing & Bang Bang which are at 105m and 84m streams respectively. I can see it passing some of their lesser recent singles like Oh Yeah (33m), Father of All (38m) and maybe even Oh Love (47m) eventually. I think the band need to start doing proper promotion like interviews and TV performances to try and keep the song in the public's view for at least a little while9 points

"This release is reminiscent of the quality, vibe, and grungy sounds from their hit album, American Idiot. Without a doubt, this song is the older sibling of ‘American Idiot.’" "Green Day has used ‘American Idiot’ multiple times to make their opinion loud and known. ‘The American Dream Is Killing Me’ is now picking up where the other song left off. It’s a new twist and updated version of life as the American idiot depicted in the 2004 song." "With this in mind, the American Idiot and early Green Day sound coming from this song can be explained with the best answer possible!" "To prepare for their new album, we recommend listening to the following albums: American Idiot, Dookie, ¡UNO!, and Revolution Radio." So... The writer is just going to ignore the fact that this is a 21CB sounding song. Not Dookie. Not American Idiot. Not even Uno or Revolution Radio. Like, this is the closest thing to 21CB we've heard since 21CB and they just don't hear that? American Idiot doesn't really deal with the issues TADIKM does. 21CB does9 points

Spotify streams for TADIKM Day 1 - 248k Day 2 - 487k (+239k) Day 3 - 663k (+176k) Day 4 - 1,078k (+415k) An interesting boost in spotify streams for Day 4. I wonder if that boost is simply down to the Amazon Music performance, I can't see any other reason for its boost in streams. It still hasn't appeared in Green Day's Top 10 on spotify (which is ranked based on daily streams, not total streams)8 points

I just listened to TADIKM and Back in the USA in a row and really feel that both songs are musically as well as thematically related.8 points

Been seeing a lot of reaction videos posted here while scrolling through and I just wanted to pop in and say that I couldn't care less what some random (or popular) person on YouTube thinks, positive or negative. This shit's amazing and we're in for a great new era of Green Day. I've had TADIKM and LMNB stuck in my head all day and they're so good! I am just immensely enjoying the ride. Can't wait for all the live performances and promo appearances we'll get soon! I love this band so much!7 points

I don't think it's an expectation thing. This isn't post-Warning era, there's nothing to prove. I think they obviously want it to be well received but this isn't do or die for them. I heard it's been doing really well on the radio so far. We downplay GD sometimes because we have been humbled by the last decade or so. I also think we have unrealistic expectation of this song blowing up overnight. Even American Idiot took time to build momentum. It did over the course of a month and then never dropped off. I'd rather have a normal start that leads to longevity than a huge start and a big burnout moment.7 points

I'm dying for an interview, guitar world magazine article, literally hit me with SOMETHING lol. I need to know, what did they experiment with on this record, what amps / guitars did he use, something about the songs... the silence is so deafening on this lead-up to the release 😭.6 points

I hope in depth interviews about the new album appear soon. I also hope to watch some performances on Tv shows like Fallon etc...6 points
-
Plot twist, oeb was a reused name and it’s a totally different song5 points
-
I bet they did an in depth one with AltPress or rolling stone. It will likely be about the album, bands legacy (dookie 30 etc). And come out around album release or just before5 points
-
Maybe they’re saving the big interviews until closer to the album release5 points

ärzte ❤️ biggest german punk rock band since forever they are ~60yo and still play 35-40 songs and 3 hour long shows and constantly switch songs in their setlist (come one greenday, you can do it too)5 points
-
Mine too, especially after hearing about how hard the band worked to make that album a real thing.5 points
-
Just heard TADIKM and LMNB on Underground Garage, switched to Alt Nation and now they’re playing TADIKM there!5 points

jesus dont give me hope for club shows in europe i would be happy enough if the would do simple solo-shows in germany again and dodge the festivals lol4 points

TADIKM was played two times by Austria's biggest radio station so far. That's two times more than they played Bang Bang since then. Let's consider this as a success, that they get airplay between mostly pop and rap songs 😌4 points
-
Absolutely. There’s a massive difference between rock songs nowadays and rock songs from the 90s or early 2000s. There used to be a time when the mainstream was interested I everything from rap to pop music to rock and even metal. But these days are over. No rock band will have a song as big as BOBD or WMUWSE in the foreseeable future. But that goes for all artists in this genre, not just Green Day.4 points

I have heard Foam quite a few times recently and it sounds pretty good on the radio!4 points

Just heard LMNB on Underground Garage! They played TADIKM first and then went right into the B side. Awesome! Edit: Now just switched to Alt Nation and they’re playing TADIKM there lol!4 points
-
FOAM felt like a lot of incomplete songs. Lots of “that’s good enough” songwriting. The good thing about ‘Saviors’ so far is that all the songs sound fully formed.4 points
-
Wow, they just played TADIKM for the third time on Austria's biggest radio station and an hour before they played American Idiot and the anchor did a quite long introduction to the new song and the new album. Very nice to hear!3 points

Are you guys keeping the song playin on a 24/7 loop like a good fan should? We gotta get them to break out in the algorithm and infect...I mean REACH more people. The music video and Spotify both are nearly tied right now. 1,051,770 views. 1,077,972 streams.3 points

Wasn't this listening party a few days ago for journalists? Maybe they did many interviews on that day which will be publisher in the next weeks3 points
-
Same. I'm sure I'll come around to it, but it feels like another instance of just a filler song which they've had too many of recently.3 points
-
Fingers crossed for some sort of interview with the tour announcement on the 2nd.3 points

Let us hope that at the very least whoever won it for over a grand is a fan who will treasure it3 points

I think that might be the case. I sadly see songs from 21st Century Breakdown get mistaken for being on American Idiot from time to time, but of course this is mostly not from the core fanbase but rather from casual listeners. I think it's a simple case of the album deserving a much better reputation than it got, even though it was still pretty successful.3 points
-
It's especially odd when they mention RevRad and Uno though. Like Uno especially is a relatively unknown album and a lot of those who do know it tend not to care about it3 points

It's totally bogus, like the ones I make up. Here's the real one: The Antartic Dream Is Chilling Me Look Lenny, My Arm! Boobie Sects Purple People Eater I've Got My Problem 19-19-1985 Hello Norwood Retroperateniel Lymph Node Dysection Plus Nephrectmy City Accord Fall The Noid The Network Spend The Night Living After Midnight In the 1920s will get you burned at the stake in the 2020s ya bastard Wake Me Up When September Ends Part IV Slaughterers, Saviors and Dufuses Comeback Sauce. *these are not real. I know. As cool as it would be for Green Day to be pranking us and there's an even cooler cover and concept that surprise drops today, I don't think so. The one they are presenting to us sounds good and interesting. Billie's buzzwords are out the window, quick meeting on the roof and gone on their broomsticks to a lesser band.3 points

I'd love to see them on Letterman's 'My Next Guest'... I think it'd be such a solid interview3 points

With the music video hitting 1 million views, I got reminded of this song. Surely I can’t be the only German speaking fan who sees similarities here3 points

From the caption of the original post some fashion designer made those for them and I think they are the most hideous things I’ve ever seen. Anyone can slap 100 football patches on a leather jacket 😂3 points

And the live version at 57k. I’m always surprised when new versions are added so quickly as this destructs from the number for the single. Still hoping for a behind the scenes video though.3 points
-
I’m just not excited about this one. Maybe that’ll change when I properly hear the studio version once released. Just seems like a 2 minute wall of sound with no variation or interesting deviations.3 points

This! Modern radio pisses me off so much I can hardly articulate it! So niche, how the hell do you get exposed to new or different stuff? It’s very unhealthy.3 points
-
This is the new age of singles. Bands drop songs once every couple of weeks to keep fans engaged. It’s why the albums release isn’t very far out too.3 points

Green day unfortunately cannot win in circumstances like this They try something new ... everyone shits on them for it and demands a return to old green day and now when they do that people complain that they are "boring" and "recycling that same old stuff again". It's a weird cycle 😅3 points
