I find it funny that people think Billie, who grew up in a working class single parent household and who moved out of his mother's house living in rat infested slums, doesn't know what it's like to be working class and live rough and really only got the amount of success he got cause he was one of very few talented people to be lucky enough to be signed by a major label How different is it being working class in 2023 to what it was like in the 80's or 90's? Because I feel like it was at least equally as hard back then. Even in 2009, Billie showed that he had a big grasp on the issues working people faced even after 15 years of mainstream success

Regardless of whether the record is a concept album or not, there is a clear concept and artistic direction behind the promotional campaign that is cool and easy to follow even now that is not fully started. This is a huge step forward compared to the last 2 releases from the band. Getting so hyped. And GreenDay.com getting the zombie treatment is kinda big news imho. I don’t think they would make that the website theme if it was only single related/smth made to take advantage of Halloween only. Might be wrong, but I think this indicates the dead/undead them is something relevant for the record as a whole.

Are you guys seriously fucking talking about blink AGAIN???? For the love of god, please let it go. We already did this for 4 fucking pages (and that's only the most recent discussion). I really don't understand why people always feel the need to compare them to Green Day. They are entirely different bands who set completely different goals for themselves. They both share a lot of fans, have similar influences, and gained success in the 90's, but they really don't have as much in common as people are trying to make it seem. Think about the stones and the Beatles. Sure, they're both British and were the two biggest rock bands of the 60's, but their music is completely different. I don't care if you think that blink is good or not, but just let people like what they like, and let's get back to Green Day. There is absolutely no reason to keep coming back to this bullshit debate. Also, there is MUCH worse music in the world. I know that you guys would still rather listen to Blink 182 than Dream.

Of course it won't because it never hasn't. Most of the pop punk bands (especially newer releases of pop punk ''revival'') have pretty much the same tasteless Feldmann production style, same annoying drum samples / programmed drums, same chord progressions, same hooks etc. (with a few exceptions of course). And it has basically been like that since late 90's. Green Day never belonged in that category, which is why I always get a twitch in my eye when people call it all the same pop punk. They're far more superior in every sense and a league of its own. A total different class and will always be.

There are though. There always are. There is also always autotune and vocal smoothing, etc. There's just different ways to do it, sometimes subtle and sometimes that's exactly what they want you to hear.

Hey guys! Haven't posted on here in a while (probably years now!) I produce music for a living. This snippet got me really excited. Green Day's sound has evolved massively due to the team of people they've worked with on recent records with varying results. I feel the combo of Rob Cavallo producing and Chris Lord-Alge mixing really epitomises what sounds like Green Day. Billie's vocals have got a lot of space and sound natural and upfront, the guitars panned ultra wide, drums and bass punching and I can't be happier. I can't wait to listen to what they've got prepared.

Listen to it with headphones, you will appreciate it even more! You can hear the effort that went into mixing etc With headphones everything sounds "punchy", even the vocals sound vibrant/energetic Still waiting for the whole song, but it really seems like some kind of revrad/21cb/AI mix with this sound Thank god we can finally leave foam in the past Now i really hope we get all the juicy stuff, single release, album date/tracklist/cover art, tour dates

I might be proven wrong very shortly but I really don't think the teaser is OEB. It doesn't sound that alike at all and we've also been told 'forget about OEB' by people in the know. I think the teaser we've heard is the title track of the album, either American Dream or The American Dream is Killing Me.

The American dream is killing me sounds more like a social commentary on the state of capitalism/the idea of American dream rather than something pandemic related. I also don’t see BJ writing about covid in those terms. But let’s see.

I think that has less to do with financials and more to do with their creative vision. As much as I love seeing them live, their shows for the past decade (possibly longer) have been incredibly same-y. I would be shocked (in a good way) if this upcoming tour has any major changes to setlist/stage design. I do not like this interpretation at all, and to say that they don't have the "guts" to refernce COVID seems a bit backwards. Referencing events by name like that does more to date your music than anything else, and I'd hope BJ has more poetic creativity in the tank than that.

Next week! So soon! Maybe they will play the new song at either the secret show or upcoming festival this weekend. The sooner the better
