This is one of the best times to be a Green Day fan. On the precipice of a new era, speculating over genuine news, waiting for tour dates to be announced. Savor it before it’s here while you can. The new teaser is fun! I think I hear a radio briefly in the fadeout which is very 21st Century Breakdown. They really seem to be giving this one their all, no more “off the cuff” Green Day. It’s all happening and so soon! I can’t wait.

Appreciation post for this teaser campaign, love how they are handling things this time (so far), it’s getting me super hyped And also appreciation post for not having a ballad/smth in that direction as first single 🙃 Gonna base this on the few facts we have: - Cavallo/production golden team is back - Not rushed release - Explicit political/social commentary in the song title and related promotion - Good/well thought promotion production value -Teasers content in a 00’s GD sound style -Relatively fast/marching sound of the website teaser -Zombie music video (ready for Halloween) YES I AM FUCKING HYPED

Omg we're so close to the new era! The teaser sounds cool but I'll save my judgement until the full release. I may be ready for the new GD era...but my wallet isn't 🤣

The teaser sounds awesome. Truly awesome. It's this "weight" in the instrumental sound that I've been missing for 15 years. And I know this is wishful thinking on my part, because it's impossible to go off so little, but here's what speaks in favour of this record being at least one of the best produced and mixed since 21CB: - Cavallo is back - CLA is back - the 1972 teasers revealed heavier guitar sounds - this latest teaser demonstrated heavy and full-sounding drums - the latest teaser also confirmed heavier guitars This brings us into 21CB and AI territory. Whether it's an entirely political album, dunno, I think not. Equally, I'm not sold on the idea of another rock opera, because it's something I'd wish for, but that does not make it more realistic. But I think this might just be Green Day's Wasting Light or 13 Voices, a great comeback after the highs of 21CB and AI. And quite honestly, even if it doesn't live up to our expectations, it's hard to see how it could be terrible (though never say never) Bring on the 24th!

It's not even the same riff, it's played differently. millions of songs use the same chords and progressions. Basket Case uses the same chord progression as One of My Lies, one of many examples of GD songs that do that. Every band has those examples. Lukie is good at being negative about pretty much everything, when hes not demanding the "source" for every little thing someone says in here.

Personally, I would love if Billie Joe recorded an acoustic record and went on a solo tour (with Jason White on second guitar). He could tell stories between each song. I remember in 2015, I won tickets to see Billie Joe play the Geezer film wrap up party, and Idiot Club had it labeled as BJA acoustic. I was so excited, but it was just Green Day full band (also cool 😂).

Hope the shows for the next tour will be a little bit longer than 90-100 minutes 🙏

I am still skeptical and I am going to remain skeptical until I've heard the full album because in my experience that's the best way to avoid being disappointed and have the best time with an entertainment product... BUT I have gotta say it sounds like they have NAILED the production this time around. No more loudness wars, no more laser beam pew pews, just Green Day doing what they do best with top tier sounding instruments and fantastic balance, volume levels and mixing as the icing on the cake. AI and 21CB will remain timeless because of how well they are produced and it's great to see the boys taking a page from those books again.

Seems like a needlessly cynical way of looking at it. Songs get chopped up, reworked and reused all the time, that's just how it works. The end result and the Interrupters song you're referencing will be two very distinct songs.

New teaser?

Many bands still release new music even with their members well in their 60s or even further. Billie Joe has said that the only way one of them leaves the band is in a coffin. Of course, many things can happen but as of right now it's entirely possible for them to be doing music until they are physically unable to. Even after that, they would probably become a legacy band and keep releasing outtakes, rare songs, etc.

I love the moments that make this place feel like 2013 again. LOL

Ngl I'm not too excited about the music side of things so far, the recent teaser isn't anything special and 1981 was meh so we'll see how things are once it's out. BUT I am getting super excited about the video, promo etc, I LOVE spooky shit and anything to do with corpses and death so this is right up my street 😍 Also with American Dream vs TADIKM, I really hope it's not the longer title bc just no, however I get the point of American Dream might be more compared to AI which isn't great either. Ffs just stop naming all your damn songs 'American (insert random noun here)' 😅

The Stones are releasing a new album in a few days.

They haven't been saying much about the new album because they know how you guys are going to act and they just want to surprise drop it and do no promotion for it.... It's Father of All Part 2. Same cover and Mike squirts a mustard 2 on top. Every song is a sequel to the original tracks. Higher vocals, more clapping. Oh, but Here comes the shock is merged with the Beach Boys song and sounds like vomit produced it.

That zombie will most definitely be on a t shirt

I hope the album artwork is cool enough to buy a t-shirt from the new era

Cd, vinyl and live shows, right? Merch? I'll probably get a CD and maybe a show. As enthusiastic for the entirety of Green Day's career minus Haushinka, I've never been a merch person. And live shows are amazing but a hassle. Green Day never come to my state, and my city has a literal "venue crisis". We've got an amazing local hard rock scene, but all the venues are in financial ruin. The big arena in town now only books hockey games, pop and Country - and not the good kind, haha. But yeah, I'll drive 100-150 miles to see them since the American Idiot Tour was the only one I have seen.

I'm torn because I'm not really liking his hair in that video, but I do think the shorter sides make him look super young!

I'm sure the guys and everyone involved with the making of the album are so happy promotion has finally started. The album has been done for quite a while and has been just sitting there.
