  1. Ok going to make one more comment to add just a touch of clarity: BASED ON ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AT ALL, I think the majority of folks here are going to be happy on the 24th (especially if you have been disappointed with the band’s recent output). And I am further convinced the Rob Cavallo effect is real (again, based on absolutely nothing at all). 🙂

  9. UPDATED : 10/17/23 Thought it would be fun to share with you guys some of the concepts i've done over the years. I sort of have a guilty pleasure of doing these. In light of album 14 seemingly on the way quite soon with all the buzz, i'm feeling the urge to have some fun with the whole "American Dream" concept as well...anyways, enjoy!

  12. Lol I tried to listen to foam again yesterday on YouTube, it's crazy how bad it is yet fans in the lyric videos were like now this is green day! I was stunned, I replied no it's really not lol one person on the video for junkies on a high said "it's like green day and imagine dragons made a song together" freaking awesome! I'm gonna assume this person was battling covid and the fever was getting to him. https://youtu.be/O0mXVKhZPws?si=6WEM10C_c35ukAGu This proves graffitia is a good song when you take away all the layers of shit butch walker covered it with

  13. And they had to sign documents because it's so strong, half of them probably died. I'm gonna pre-order coffee like it's 1981!

  14. These last couple of posts are exactly my point when people rate stuff as “better”, I know it’s all subjective but it’s like comparing orange and lemons.

  17. I would loooove for the Tokyo show to be included! Preferably as a video release, so we can watch it in something that's better than 400x300 resolution!

  18. I think it's obvious that FOAMF is mostly down to Billie. It sounds the way it does because that's the album Billie wanted to make. He's been mostly responsible for most of their music, at least from American Idiot onwards. He's responsible for some of their best and some of their worst music imo I don't think Walker's presence really helped FOAMF at all but yeah I wouldn't really put the blame on him even if I'm not really a fan of most of the albums he's produced that I'm aware of

  19. I agree that AI & 21 C are amazing albums with the former considered a classic. But to say that they are better that Dookie I feel is the wrong word. Different would be better. Dookie back in 1994 sent a seismic shock through the music sound at the time, ousting the by now dreary and boring grunge scene. As well as giving an amazing sound never heard before, the lyrics provided a connection with the listener that they could relate to, and was unique. So it certainly was not overrated. And is today still relevant with it's sound and message. Imho, if Dookie had not happened, GD would have died. And there would be no AI or 21st C, there would be no GDC for that matter.

  21. Why are you all talking about Weezer suddenly?
    3 points
  22. Okay, I have to throw my Weezer hot take in the ring. All their albums are great EXCEPT: Maladriot, Pacific and Black. Those make my ears bleed, but I will defend Ratitude and Red and all the other ones as perfect masterpieces. Back to 1972 Dreams or whatever it's called. Well, actually not back to it. Are we getting a Christmas album? I feel like now would be a good time for that dirty Christmas Polka concept jazz album we all know they have. With Rick Astley singing lead on a half the songs.

  24. Don’t you just love when a journalist/writer doesn’t even know which album he’s talking about. How did he not know Dookie was not their debut album, 10 seconds with Google was all the “research” needed!

  32. Awesome!!! Dare I say it, you saying this means a lot more to me personally, than if someone who thought RevRad and FOAM were either one of them top 3 Green Day albums had said this. I'm pumped! Also glad you didn't go down the iT sOUnDs LiKE doOKiE route though (*shudders*)

  38. Idk if I'm alone in this but I would rank the albums in this order 21CB > Dookie > AI Only relatively recently did I start to prefer Dookie to AI. I still love all 3 albums, they all make up my top 3 GD albums but I think Dookie & 21CB show the best of the band's 90's and 00's material respectively. I think Dookie is probably the best album for the band as a whole while 21CB is Billie's best album
