  5. Yeah, I feel like the reason they started releasing chunks of songs from Dookie 30 early and heavily promoted in the lead up to Friday was to get it all out the way/secure preorders and release day orders so that once new album hype comes along and overshadows it they've already made the majority of physical sales there anyway. Probably works in their favour that they have an anniversary release to bring them back under the public radar a little bit just before announcing new music/coffee flavours

  6. Especially since the true anniversary isn’t until February 2024 so if not to build hype for the new era it made little sense to release it now

  7. Do my eyes decieve me? Oh my God, this looks like a fresh scan from the original film stock!

  8. Fuck it it's friday I'm staying up until midnight, getting drunk and waiting for an update on this website. If nothing, well it's saturday tomorrow. So, same thing.

  9. Personally hoping for a photoshoot of all 3 of them in a bed together, yawning and waking up. Tre is holding a teddy bear. They're all wearing variations of this outfit: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/48413764715665588/ Mike is making the same exact face as the man in the photo.

  11. I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, and believe me I am as excited for new music as anyone but it just occurred to me that they have just released a whole load of merch around the Dookie anniversary. Surely they will want to let that maximize sales, probably at least until Christmas, before launching any new stuff? I suppose they could make the announcements tomorrow with a release date in February and then release the new album merch then, it seems like quite a lot of merch coming thick and fast, and quite expensive. Or maybe they'll just tell us they are awake tomorrow and are getting in on the joke.

  12. Ok yeah at this point I'm convinced the actual letters don't mean anything It's just the fonts that are indicating what the artist and album title will look like on the cover

  14. Overall I'm very pleased with the set and knew it would be a day-one purchase. The other three discs easily validate re-purchasing Dookie, which it's even a little more convenient now that F.O.D. and All By Myself are separate tracks during the digital age (despite still keeping the huge pause at the end of F.O.D.). But I wouldn't be an obsessive fan without some nitpicks. The Dookie demos that have forever been bootlegged in reduced quality only partially appear here. Though the ones that were included are like silk to my ears compared to what was available on the internet in the 2000s. While the complete Dookie demos would take up another whole disc, the variety was a little disappointing. The '93 demo for J.A.R. they included is very similar to the final version, whereas the '92 acoustic demo is a very different experience. Prioritizing different versions is what makes the newly unearthed Basket Case demo so exciting. Meanwhile there's entirely different songs that were omitted; Monk's Keys, Don't Wanna Fall in Love, the unknown instrumental. With J.A.R., On The Wagon, and Tired of Waiting For You being widely available, and knowing they have to compromise song selection for space, it's a minor gripe of mine. But let's end on the positives. I thought I'd have to fall back on the vinyl rip for a digital version of the best recording of Woodstock '94. Nope, it's all here and sounds great. As for the other live show; Barcelona in 1994 was not a hugely talked about show - I think more people were anticipating Jaded in Chicago. But we have a triple threat of a show that sounds great in terms of recording, was performed great (naturally), and has a very unique setlist for the era. This makes it a great Dookie time capsule. Maybe even more so because fans weren't as familiar with it. To end off, the Dookie versions of Christie Road and 409 more than validate the purchase of the new set.

  16. Tracklist confirmed! Haha. I really like Celebrate Neon Rain. That sounds really interested and also tied to September Ends. But I am one of those melodramatic fools who is still hoping for the promotion of Trilogy, RevRad and FOAM to be completed. Tomorrow, we get a music video for Stop When the Red Lights Flash followed by Amy. Then 8th Avenue Serenade and 99 Revolutions. A massive Somewhere/Forever Now video, a Teenage Teenager video and THEN after all that....a Father of All Tours Tour. And of course some kind of fun surrounding 1972. and all other non-released material. Ah, nevermind. I'm gonna go to a shrink / to analyis my posts / she says it's lack of sense that's making me dense / i never went to whore / cause that'd disrespect lenor' Clearly Bonny.

  17. Imagine another song like bang bang. I know we're talking about 1981 or One Eyed Bastard but imagine a fucking banger like the one we had in 2017. Holy shit I still remember where I was.

  24. The most senseful subject of the potential anagram using all of the bold letters we have seen so far (NENYEILNCEBAORR) comes down to: Celebrate Neon Rain Cannot make anything out of the italic letters, as using them all provides mostly jibberish.

  25. I know its not gonna happen, but it would be such an amazing fanservice if we get the first single with tourdates for sale for hardcore/non casual fans before they announce it on their social media. Yeeees I know thats not gonna happen, but let me dream about it 😂 How does it smell? Dont say „like dookie“ 😂 Ah I‘m excited, I‘m sorry 😂

  31. The credits are listed. Dookie, Demos, Outtakes, Woodstock 1994 and Live in Barcelona. The only statement 'Remastered' appeared just over half way through the Outtakes credits. Quote: Remastered by Robert Vosgien at Capitol Mastering, Hollywood, CA. His name is not repeated elsewhere, not is the word Remastered. Imho the album did sound different. Having played Dookie first, I had the original studio versions in my head as a kinda benchmark. Leaving aside the amazing major remixing of Basket Case etc, the demos and outtakes, deffo sounded different. How can I say it, brighter, with variations in notes played, Tre's drumming variations and Mike's backing vocals more intense. And of course the live tracks are awesome. I can't get enough of listening to variations/remixes of the same song. For almost 3 & half hours I just couldn't stop jumping up and down across the living room and shaking my head. For me perfection. I'm fucked but happy. Thanks GD. ❤️

  33. The letters are still impossible to figure out. If they even mean anything in the end. Out of all the letters, bold or not (excluding the lowercase 't') I was able to cherrypick this: gREEN dAY NEW SONg TILL MOON ROCK BOTTOM But even that leaves us with the letters "COPEO" and assumes G, G & D will be part of the equation. Yeah... not holding my breath. Just gonna have to wait until tomorrow.

  34. Yes, and I have no idea of how this sort of marketing works. Do you give quite a long dispatch date and only print stuff in batches or is it already printed and waiting in a warehouse somewhere for despatch?
    2 points
  35. A good and commercially logical point. However, the latest timeline update on album 14 on greenday.fm states that single(s) will be released this year. Maybe the announcement tomorrow will give us a hint of a release date, end of Oct/Nov/Dec ? Allowing Dookie 30th to take promotional centre stage on GD's official webpage.

  36. Celebrate Neon Rain honestly sounds great, but I think it's too long of a title. I wonder if it's Green Day inviting us to celebrate their next album, Neon Rain? The neon pink colours on the site would make sense, I could see the album cover looking like streaks of "Neon Rain" in the pink colour with GREEN DAY emboldened on the cover, with nothing else.

  46. Pretty nice to finally have JAR, On the Wagon and Tired of waiting for you, in 192/24. They sound pretty fantastic. 🙂 Cause Superhits is only available in 48khz I believe. Often wondered about the ending of On the Wagon. It sounds like it was recorded in front of a small audience lol. With the applause and then Billie going “Hold on”. Like they had recorded it from a live session or something and they were going onto another song maybe. 🤔
