  2. Jason didnā€™t find that page on his own. They clearly fed the page to him to start a discussion among the fan base. Itā€™s a way to let the promotion start, using the fan base to spread the rumor/news that something is coming and the excitement, without actually letting the promotion start since the official channels are busy with Dookie.

  5. Five years from now weā€™re the only ones who will remember the marketing. Long term the biggest success the record can have is being good.

  6. Absolutely agree, but some people legitimately want the band to be commercially successful, and when it comes to pop music that requires an adequate promotion. Personally I donā€™t give a fuck about that, the band proved anything it had to prove already, from any perspective including the commercial one. But if someone care about how many streams the new record will have on Spotify or whether it will sell more or less than the record of another pop band, or how much and how social medias react to it, well I get why they will care a lot about promotion and advertisement. That said the cringy failures of the FOAM marketing reached ridiculous levels that even a masterpiece record wouldnā€™t handle, and got very close from damaging the band image long term. I donā€™t give a fuck about record sales when it comes to a 90ā€™s band releasing in 2023, I donā€™t give a fuck about GD vs Blink in 2023, but I care about my favorite band image being compromised by ridiculous and idiotic marketing agencies. Hope the people that worked on those FOAM billboards are as far away as possible from this promotion cycle.

  7. I believe we are getting a whole pack: Single, album title/cover/tracklist/release date, presale and first tour dates for 2024

  8. Your interpretation of it isn't the only possibility. I read it more like a playful 'hmm what could this be?'.

  9. Right here, LOL just got home from work!!! HOLY SHIT!!!! This is huge!!! Theyā€™re totally behind this!!! Notice how they stayed silent through the whole Panicland MOOTIK thing!!!

  10. If this is all he said, itā€™s a stretch to say he implied the fonts and capitalization mean anything. Green Day likes pink, so thatā€™s not enough of a correlation for me and again that says nothing to a secret message of the lettering itself. Again, I WANT it to mean something. I just donā€™t feel confident that it does. It is fun to get all worked up about it, I mean thatā€™s what we do here, but most of the time we are wrong lol. I guess after all this time my Iā€™ve learned to temper my expectations.

  11. What gives me pause about that account is that they are only mentioning song titles that have already been rumored, rather than anything new.

  12. I love that despite their multi millions and the music industry machine behind them, they still come off as a janky DIY outfit

  13. Not to throw a wet blanket on the letters in the website theories, but I wouldnā€™t be surprised at all if it meant nothing. It could just be different fonts and capitalization is an aesthetic to look edgy. I hope it is something more, I just canā€™t bring myself to hold my breath. PROvE mE wRONG GREEN DAY.

  15. Operation certainly feels like something greendayish to put into an album title! Love how you're giving it a try, I feel like creativity is key now. Speculators of this fine and aged establishment, this is your shining hour Join our quest for truth! We need all our best minds at work! Anyway, we essentially we have the following clues thus far: 23 Sep: NOPE 25 Sep: NOT YEt ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Broken down by dy date and category this spells: 23 Sep: NE ā€“ā€“ā€“ OP 25 Sep: NEY ā€“ā€“ā€“ OTt ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Quick recap: For Green Day we currently have: GREEN DAY ---- and an extra N For the album/single title we currently have the letters: O P O T t ---- if we say one O is just a repeat then we're left with: O P T t ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We had a theory earlier on relating to the small t. The idea was that it might be to indicate that it's not a repeat. But as we can see, the bold N in (presumably) GREEN DAY is also repeated. So there are three more possible scenarios: 1) It's referring to a t within a word, non-capitalised, for example Operation 2) It's referring to a t in a less meaningful, potentially non-capitalised word like "the" ---- for instance: Operation of the People 3) It refers to it definitely being repeated, unlike the letter O for example. However, since Green Day seem unlikely to name anything in the second way, scenario 2) seems very unlikely. Scenario 3 does not necessarily contradict Scenario 1, so 1) and 3) seem quite plausible. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So then the question is, what to do with the following letters O P T t Could it be an album title with three or more words, each respectively starting with O, P and T? I feel like Operation is a worthy candidate for O. Perhaps also Oakland? This whole teasing cycle has definitely had a nostalgic element to it, so Time seems like a worthy candidate for T. P, I don't know. Pop? Punk? Play? Poprocks? Prosthetic? Panic? Paradise? Passalacqua? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The other thing we could attempt to do, though with very little to go on, is to look at what the next composite words might be. GREEN DAY is still missing the letters G R D A So the next three messages could read: 1) kiNDA (for D and A) 3) GEttiNG READY (for G and R) 2) Oh YEAh Although, admittedly there would be a lot of repeats there, so not sure about it. Perhaps they'll also continue with the theme of starting with an N, until the answer to the question is yes. 1) NOT TODAY ---- (for D and A) 2) NOT Right NOw ---- or NOT REAllY ---- (for R) 3) GOd YEAh ---- (for G) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ But here's where we need all the creativity this place has to offer So give it your best!

  23. You could so be right If there's one thing we know, it's that they really suck at promotion and teasers. Lord, do they suck. Hell, Panicland really put them to shame last time. Now that was what you would call great promotion/teasing... Still love 'em though. How couldn't I.

  24. I've always had a special place in my heart for Uno. It's not perfect but I have so many good memories of the album, like getting a digital copy early and staying up late listening to it and quietly freaking out in my bedroom. I fell in love with it instantly. I think it has the strongest amount of songs out of the trilogy: stay the night, nuclear family, kill the dj, carpe diem. Hell I even like Troublemaker. I'm so glad that people see this album and the trilogy in general a bit more favorably now. No it's not their best or magnum opus. But it's a fun record!

  25. Just pure speculation, but someone mentioned that someone said somewhere that his uncle, who is an insider, said that Operation is part of the title of the album or single. If the font analysis of the mystery website done here is correct (Capital bolded letters from Green Day, rest is the album title), we likely have two words in the album title since we have two capital letters, an extra t and a p from NopE: Oā€¦ Tā€¦ Operation Timebomb? Fitting the dates pattern (1972, 1981), tribute to Operation Ivy and Tim? 1972 is dead cause it was timebombed? šŸ‘€ Just excitement led speculation, forgive me šŸ„² Edit: Nevermind, thereā€™s a capital P in Nope. Operation Private Timebomb šŸ„“

  28. Omg I miss the Trilogy. Basically over a decade of the band not playing these awesome songs live! I love Stay the Night and Fell for You. I like Oh Love a lot too. Itā€™s an unexpected song. My fav video from Uno is Stay the Night. I like the live performance shots of the band. They looked so cool and the song is so good!

  40. what i like about the teasers is, that the band themself is joking around with the WMUWSE and the death of billies dad,, finally all the crybabies who cared more about this than billie himself can stop the "omg its so sad dont joke around with WMUWSE, bc if u do i am gonna cry" ahahahahaha
    3 points
  41. The teasers always got me hyped. The only downside is the length of time. If we do indeed get the first single in October, it will be 2 years since the sessions began, and then December will be 2 years since the first teaser!!!

  42. Ok, I lied! Letā€™s get troublemaker into the top 5 streaming songs for this artist. Seriously, I like Uno more than I like Rev Rad, possibly as much as 21cb! Uno is the closest we can get to a Kerplunk 2. They have the outliers (dominated love slave/kill dj) and all the love songs that sound young and reckless and especially in love. Mikes bass playing stands out a lot more, almost back to nimrod-levels of insanity!

  48. I love Uno! When talking about mashing together all the best trilogy songs to create one masterpiece album, I always include the majority of Uno! songs. Angel Blue, Stay the Night, Rusty James, Sweet 16 are favs. The only one I really skip is Troublemaker.

  49. Love UNO and always play it in full . All the songs fit perfectly. For me the standout track is "Kill The DJ". Wik' claim it's influence is from dance punk. Billie Joe's guitar playing is awesome. The instrumental break in the middle is something else. Get goose bumps every time I hear it.

  50. I feel that UNO has aged the best of the Trilogy, and that itā€™s very much underrated. Iā€™ve always maintained that itā€™s the Kerplunk! sequel that never was. Just such a fun album to listen through, and songs like Angel Blue, Rusty James, and Sweet 16 are better than they get credit for. Stay The Night is a top 3 Green Day song for me!
