Nah, the lyrics to the new blink songs are so incredibly poorly written. Plus the effects on the vocals are pretty bad,the production is mid & they are exclusively playing on nostalgia. They're not terrible songs but to pretend they're anything other than old dudes playing the most middling songs of all time is kind of delusional, no? They've had catchy stuff in the past but this doesn't even have that going for it tbh.

Yeah...Blink has a lot going for them in terms of their following, Tom being back, etc...but that doesn't change the fact that their music is absolute shit. And that's before they attempt to poorly play anything live.

Fuck this talk of Blink 182, there's more important things to get really excited about. In 2 days, it's Louder Than Life. Will they play 1981 again? Hope there's no tech' probs again. Will they play another song from new album? Then 5 days after that Dookie 30th is out. And a day after that it's October, I wonder. A single maybe, what will it be? Holy shit. Got that feeling again. Like when GD are about to come on stage. You start to breath heavier, your heart starts pounding, your mouth it all dry, and you start to get that adrenaline rush. ❤️

Respect your view, but we're gonna have to disagree on this one a tad. Last 8 years takes us back to 2015. Personally, these 3 GD singles blow Blink away. August 2016. Bang Bang. Topped rock charts for 7 weeks. November '16 Still Breathing. Topped rock charts 2 week and Alt' charts 5 weeks. May '17. RevRad single. 9th rock charts. 🙂

I'm thinking that the poker chips don't have directly have anything to do with the album. I do think that they're about to start a new era and announce it/drop a single, but it seems pretty obvious to me what they're doing with the poker chips. It's gotta be a club show happening in Vegas in conjunction with the when we were young fest. The parallels with the show at the metro in Chicago when they played Lollapalooza last year are uncanny. The caption of the post gives it away too. We're definitely getting an announcement next month though. I think the color scheme ties into the new album and the Green Day is awake website, so I'm assuming that they're going to use their headlining slot at the festival (and club show) as promotional leverage for the album announcement. I wouldn't specifically expect something on the 1st with it being a Sunday (unless it's a tease), and nobody drops any news on Sunday because it's a terrible marketing strategy, but definitely watch what happens within the first week of the month. And if not at the beginning, we're for sure gonna see some announcements in October. At least before the when we were young festival. I was skeptical before, but at this point we can be sure that isgreendayawake is legit. The pink is the exact same as the casino chips. That is no coincidence.

A hot take I thought of during the most recent outage: I’ve heard several people say the production on the first two albums makes them unlistenable, and I have absolutely no patience for this. Yes they don’t sound like major label studio albums because they’re not. But to hear some people talk about it, they make them sound like they’re bad cell phone recordings or something. Like if you won’t listen to something that’s not literally pristine, you’ve got too much time on your hands.

It's a coincidence. There was some new D Generation merch made to raise funds for Sweet Relief Fund, following Jesse Malin suffering a rare spinal stroke. He's one of my favorite artists and I hope to god that he'll be able to walk again.

Prior to the disappointing news back in May that the new GD album was delayed until early '24, we where looking forward to a October release this year. If that had happened it would have been interesting with Blink's 9th release next month? Some interesting stats on Wik'. Total album sales to date world wide: Blink 50m versus GD 85m. Still, come early next year when the amazing new GD album is released everyone will forget Blink 182 in a blink of an eye. 😜

I really don't understand you guys. blink fans had to wait almost a year after Edging released to hear anything else about the album and their last album was released months before Green Day's last album (or if you want to look at their last album released with Tom, 12 years ago). Can we not go on and on about how lucky blink fans are All we've heard about the new Green Day album is it should probably be releasing sometime in 2023 and that was what, a year ago? The release will probably spill into early 2024 cause of Dookie 30 but there's stuff going on. They've released a bunch of content from Dookie 30 already

Just curious where you heard that about Roshambo? Roshambo lyrically lines up so I believe it. Supermodel Robots I also believe was C&V because it lines up with the sound of other songs. It’s actually the most non Network song on the album and more FBHT. The FBHT sound was really first utilized by the band during C&V. The other is Spike. Every seems to line up the song called Dropout with Brutal Love. Brutal Love really fits GD in late 2000s post AI not so much early 2000s pre AI. I speculate that Spike could have easily been titled dropout. We obviously don’t know for sure but I would say it’s more likely than Brutal Love

I didn't even know Blink had a new single. Just gave it a listen and I gotta say it doesn't sound too bad and I kinda did enjoy it. Tom delogne's gotten old though after chasing aliens for so many years.

Blink deserve a grammy this time.. Their new single is better than what green day has put out in the last 8 years. I'm not even a Blink fan, but their new single slaps so hard

I think during this period, Blink will be way ahead of anything Green Day releases. They have the Tom factor and their reunion going for them, not to mention that the lyrics are quite emotional. On top of that, Travis has a huge following, both from Blink and other music genres, so many people will check out what he's going to release.

No matter how good Green Day market this next album, they won't be able to compete with this new blink single/album (unless maybe it's like their absolute best), since this is their first album since they got back together. For the record, One More Time is a much better song than Edging was
