  1. Separate news for sure, but they could be close together. The way I see it, if we don't get an announcement by the end of October/early November, we're looking at 2024 before we hear anything. I don't see a scenario in which they start up the announcements over the holidays time frame.

  2. It is sad. I used to have a really good friend that would go to GD shows with me. Unfortunately over the years things ended rocky but one of the last shows we went to together he mentioned “why no love for the trilogy on the setlist?” my answer is great question, Billie probably doesn’t want to go down that road, maybe the critics got to them? Maybe it’s poor crowd reaction? I don’t think it’s the last one, if you play the right trilogy song you will get a reaction. The trilogy wasn’t as big as a failure as the media played it out to be. Anyone who was listening to Green Day for years atleast listened to the albums and had their 10-14 songs they preferred. Sales were low because all rock sales were low and all album sales were on a massive decline. It was hard to even sell one album let alone 3. Uno charted at number 2 the first week with solid sales. They just didnt pick up new fans and then clear channel were fucking with them and then they were nowhere to be found when Billie entered rehab. Them coming back for 2013 and playing some massive shows was actually a solid comeback and those shows were good.

  3. They do, which is why they fit so well in The Longshot sets.

  4. I always thought the Trilogy songs would sound their best in smaller venues (as seen in Quatro). Completely stripped down, loud guitars and 2 backing vocalists. Those songs have a certain club energy feel to me, kinda like pinhead gunpowder, coverups or longshot. Make it happen!

  5. Although they did say in that email, “There’s SO SO SO much more to come this year + next! This is only the beginning!”

  8. But theres a level of complacency since the 2000s that is evident. Which is ok, think about in a normal career. There are times when you really kick it and theres other times you ride the wave and appreciate what you already have. All of the 2010s was riding the wave of what they built in the 90s and 2000s. And rightfully so. But at some point you need to break the status quo again.

  9. Yes, but he’s being self-deprecating too, we know he’s far from a lazy bastard, he works a lot, has demonstrated regularly that he needs to be occupied.

  10. Why are Green Day fans so nice and fucking cool to each other?

  11. Billie said in the Audible that he has the hardest time listening to 21CB because of what a stressful experience it was making it. He might feel that way about the Trilogy era too and not want to revisit a lot of the songs from the 2009-2012 period. He’s also described himself as “a lazy bastard” on more than one occasion when it comes to relearning old songs so I don’t see him ever relearning all of Uno for example

  12. It would actually be a cool stunt to pull tbh. You guys hated the trilogy so much well that’s all we’re going to play! Less Than Jake did concerts for each of their albums which was really cool. I feel like Green Day is so far from doing stuff like that now. Maybe the odd show here and there they’ll do it but they could easily get a lot of attention by committing to do a short tour where the first half is American Idiot. They could even take a short break (rush used to do this which is awesome I can take a piss without missing a song!) after the break go right into Dookie. And also speaking of the trilogy being lost on the setlist theres really no 21cb songs either if you invalidate KYE and 21 guns

  13. I think more of an october or november announcement after the dookie 30th „hype“. Maybe the big festivlas in US or EU/UK could be a hint because none of them announced all of their headliner (or bands in general)

  14. When you've been officially wrong an hundred times it's time to move on and admit that you're not an insider lol. The only one I trust is @GDFan2019

  15. I have no idea what @pcj shared but I like it. It could be Green Day, or not, quite a lot of things make it sound like them but also kind of not 🤷🏼‍♂️

  17. These two FOAM songs sound good, at least on the same level as other FOAM songs, if not better. Can't understand why they didn't make it on the album..

  18. Damn Juvenile Delinquents is the first one, second is called Fever and there's another one called Deathwish Kids who

  21. The new album will be Liquid Dookie. Hence the 'no solids' comment.

  22. Might have missed something from all the posts in this but has this been heard or talked about? Not sure where these are from, would love to hear them though! comments in the YouTube video say FOAM demos, where have they even got those from?!

  23. Probably the smartest thing Green Day has done since 2016 is not do American Idiot 2: This Time It’s About Trump. So The Network was kinda the perfect venue to get some of those songs out.

  24. That’s part of his process though, and it’s something he’s always done. I wouldn’t consider that a mark against the quality of songwriting. It’s just that most of the time you don’t know that subpar songs have been cannibalized to make better songs. Look how surprised we were to find Church on Sunday - a great song that tells a coherent story about compromise in a relationship - borrowed bits from Black Eyeliner. Sometimes lyrics that are reused can take on new meaning and suddenly fit like jigsaw pieces where they didn’t quite fit before.
