I think the safest bet will be a vinyl repress exclusive to 1234 Go Records at some point.6 points

I'm more optimistic about getting something for the trilogy than everyone else here seems to be. I mean opinions on the trilogy have improved in the almost 11 years since its release. And since there's still another 14 years before its 25th anniversary, it's very likely that will continue to happen even more as time goes on. If they end up doing it for all their albums from Dookie to 21CB, I don't see why they wouldn't do something similar with the trilogy There will probably not be as much new unheard material from that era because of Demolicious, but Demolicious could be included with it, alongside Cuatro. And the band could do more remixes of the songs and include them and the already existing remixes of Fell for You, Oh Love, Lazy Bones & Wild One3 points

Verse 1: She's throwing punches to the beat To the sound of cable TV And she'll never see the world the same She is a Cold War in my head And I am [?] On the danger side of hearts, oh no Pre-Chorus Coffee and cyanide for lovers in the [?] (it’s either the state or disdain) If this is not a choice We got one foot in the grave Bridge Crime following the signs Part of our new lives God-bless the end of time Pain violence and cocaine [?] from acid rain We’re gonna live the truth And pretend that it’s okay that’s the best I can do3 points

I hardly see a chance of a trilogy "anniversary" edition considering: * It was a commercial fail * Billie felt that the songs from this era were not "complete", they needed more production/arrangements (That's why we had some OTIS Mixes) * We had Demolicious and ¡CUATRO! Warning is a way better option in my opinion.3 points

The thing is they have a lot of material to use to add in a possible box set. Every small show before the release of Uno was recorded. They probably had tons of unused songs and alternative mixes. Hell, I'd like to see an extended cut of Cuatro too, with a deeper insight of the creative process. Probably it won't happen, but never say never.3 points

Nothing other than Dookie 30 things will happen until at least a few weeks after Dookie 30 is released.3 points

i remember mike saying something to that effect in the bullet in a bible outtakes i'm paraphrasing but it was along the lines of "before american idiot, we were having band practices in billie's basement and after 2 or 3 weeks we are like this sucks , we know how to have band practice this is not how we want to approach making a record and it got to the point where billie phoned me and was like do you even want to do this anymore ?"3 points

I heard that Horseshoes and Handjobs was demoed for Warning, can't wait for the anniversary reissue demos2 points

I could see them doing something for the trilogy. And hope they do. There are a couple songs in Cuatro that we never got full versions of. And know there were plenty more.2 points

Cuatro is so good. A deeper insight into the creative process would be so cool. There’s enough live performance documentaries. Cuatro is my fav. I hope they do something like that again.2 points

Honestly I'd consider ourselves lucky if we get a vinyl repress. And I'd bet that Dos wouldn't have the correct tracklist... I really hope I'm wrong.2 points

If we're debating openers for the inevitable tour, I thought Sweet Children did a solid job opening for Green Day in 2015.2 points

I think you are pretty exact there, there was clearly a need for them to reestablish their relationship as adults, not surprisingly, and successful ones. I’m sure I’ve read they said something along the lines of it being their moment like Metallica having therapy, they didn’t need that but they did have to sit down and really open up to each other it appears.2 points

What is the chance of Green Day releasing anything similar like the anniversary releases of Dookie 30th, Insomniac 25th and Nimrod 25th, with demos, live albums and outtakes?1 point
-
I'm thinking Coffee and cyanide for the lovers in disgrace If this is not a choice We've got one foot in the grave Don't know if anybody has said that already Also the missing the BVs during the outro which I think is 'it's all over now' but that's pretty hard to even hear in the first place let alone decipher the lyrics1 point
-
Please let there be a repress. I regret not getting these albums on vinyl at a reasonable price when I had the chance.1 point

You know you'll still have the option to listen to the originals if that's your preference. What's the big deal? I think the remixes improve the songs for the most part but even if I didn't, why would I care if people had an alternate version of the song to listen to. Remixes get made all the time, the original still always exists and usually remains as the most popular or most listened to version of the song1 point

Please no more Otis remixes. They are totally unnecessary, pretty bad (especially Wild One which sounds like a very low bitrate mp3) and they distort the true picture of what those songs are and what they stood for at time of being released. 2012 was a weird but special year.1 point

Full show of the echoplex would be great on bluray or just on YouTube Re-recording of Stay the Night. Just don't like the studio version of that song1 point

So I was watching the 1981 clip again and I think I figured out the lyrics She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's throwing punches to the beat To the sound of cable TV And she'll never see the world the same She is a whore in my head And I am losing then All the changes I don't want no more Coffee and cyanide for lovers in the state If this is not a choice You're gonna wanna leave the craze She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 Crime following the time Part of our new lives God bless the end of time Pain, violence, and cocaine She's gonna live the guilty way We're gonna live the truth And pretend that it's okay She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 19811 point

He says, the band recorded about 16 songs and then scrapped it as the few new songs that were recorded after those were more exciting. The list of songs that John Roecker had posted as outtakes from that era has exactly 16 songs. It once again makes me think that it probably is the pool of songs that were generaly decided for C&V (with a few more additions) but scrapped later. Here Mike also mentions that there were around 65 songs in total recorded during that time. If lets say 16 of them were for C&V and 14 of them were for The Network, and 13 of them are for AI, then there are remaining 20-22 songs that maybe one day we will hear in their original demo form.(although some of them were developed and made their way into the following albums in a different form) Interesting information...1 point

highlights so far: - he says they came up with about 16 songs that were pretty good a few months after pop disaster, but they also had "two or three songs over here, that were something worth chasing". - "we had the songs and we turned in the record in [sic], and me and Billie got together and we started talking with Tre and we said those are really good songs, but we've got these over here, and we kinda feel like - should we put out these and then wait three or four years to put out these other songs and chase this other thing that we see going on over here? So that was kinda it, we decided to chase those". - Rented Studio 880 and "practiced and recorded and demo'd every day for a year, came up with the better part of four records, like 65 songs or something like that" - "there was really no limits, I mean, there was things recorded in there that the world should never ever hear, because that's how no limits it was" EDIT: Okay yeah that's really all that's relevant in there1 point
-
Wow, I had completely forgotten this interview. Mike says there were about 65 songs, some of which should never be heard. Quite funny to hear the interviewer who obviously has no idea what AI will become.1 point
-
That’s the first I’ve heard of that, because AFAIK they’ve only ever told the official story of “recorded all the songs for an eventual album, masters got stolen, started over and wrote AI instead”. Never heard it said they planned to release two albums1 point
-
"You líed" and "rotting". J.A.R. Angus versión is also from insomniac sessions1 point
-
yeah, but probably everything was reworked. I think it would be awesome if they give us C&V they way it was recorded back then, even though some of the songs ended up merging into another ones1 point
-
In welcome to my panic he said he wrote basket case while on acid then the next realized day realized the lyrics were trash. Then later while having an anxiety attack he wrote the new lyrics1 point

Not loving the merch apart from the long sleeve thermal t. Meant to say, I love the cover, I think with such a busy and iconic cover as Dookie it can be hard to better it so to strip it right back with just the pile of Dookie and title is pretty clever, it’ll sure stand out across a record store.1 point

Dookie on September 29th New single (October/November?) New album (February?) New World Tour American Idiot 20th Anniversary edition This next year will be HUGE!!!!!!! EDIT: And then 2025 will be the 30th anniversary of Insomniac!!!1 point

I like the "In The End" demo more than the album version. That stripped down, calm presentation of the song is a lot more fitting to the lyrics and the dual vocals.1 point
