  1. I hear from Sum 41 that Green Day's new album will feature a really great cover of Rollin by L I M P.

  2. yeah, but probably everything was reworked. I think it would be awesome if they give us C&V they way it was recorded back then, even though some of the songs ended up merging into another ones

  4. They already did a release for the 25th anniversary, I doubt they'll do anything for the 30th

  6. probably to the fact that he/the character whose POV he's writing from is on the spectrum? He was relatively coherent on that album so make of it what you will in the context of the song. I wouldn't take it literally, because it's just a song, and there's a good chance he just threw that in, but also would it suprise me if a guy who couldn't make eye contact if his life depended on it was on the spectrum?

  8. They have a lot more to choose in an eventual AI 20th anniversary, but if they would use ready-to-sell material, Irving Plaza 2004 would be my first pick. The demos and outtakes are far more interesting, thinking that John Roecker has some of them, Peter Reto did mention they tracked also the preproduction, where the songs could be very different. Yeah, Cigarettes and Valentines could be there as well. If they are ready to do it, then we are really on a treat. Warning 25th can be doable too. These Japanese shows would be fire!

  9. I hope we get a show with AI in full on both CD and DVD. They filmed the whole show for Heart Like An Handgrenade, this will be the perfect time to release it

  13. I was thinking about something... Did Green Day get back in touch with Cavallo for the Dookie 30th and then invite him to the new album?

  14. Cool surprise, I preordered the CD set on Amazon and I had enough Discover cashback money to cover it so it was free!

  16. Agree. And I'm on the spectrum myself. That's why it stood out. And I would have to agree on the eye contact thing amongst various other things lol

  18. Since there was this "so much more to come line" I'm hopeful that we'll get something else besides the new record next year. I'm reeeeeeally hoping for a release of one, preferably several American Idiot tour recordings. It seems weird not to re-release Bullet in a bible (audio) in full, as in, both nights, on CD and/or vinyl. But I'm hopeful we might get some other show too, where they played AI in full - say the Music Box at the Fonda show.

  22. SO SO SO much more this year and next year? must be 1972 single and lp announcement (+tour announcement?) this year and AI anniversary

  23. I genuinely believe any AI anniversary set will be pushed back to the 25th. We want it all and we want it now, but doing all this in the span of a year would be overwhelming for fans and their bank accounts

  24. Conspiracy time! With the "there's SO SO SO much more", why use three SOs? Here's my prediction: There's 3 new Green Day things that have yet to be announced. In November/ December, we get Thing 1: 1972- an EP of 5 or 6 songs that are what the band initially worked on, this will include 1981. Chances are, this EP will follow some kind of loose narrative or so cohesion in some way. In February-April sometime, we get a whole album of new songs, this is Thing 2. 13-18 tracks of whatever they've been working on recently, with the vim and vigour they got whilst recording 1972. In May- August we get Thing 3: 20 Years of American Idiot, this will be huge and really catapult Green Day back into the mainstream, with us hardcore fans already very satiated. This will be similar to Dookie, and the Limited Edition vinyl set will have some Cigarettes and Valentines re-recordings for good measure. Alongside the American Idiot celebration, Green Day also announce the "WIDE AWAKE" tour, starting in October, celebrating 30 years of Dookie, 20 years of American Idiot, 1972 and the new album. A real greatest hits and a look at their new stuff tour. This world tour will probably last October-February time.
