Just heard 1999 on the radio and it got me thinking. Billie said he was listening to a lot of Prince when he wrote the last record. I wonder if “She’s gonna bang her head like 1981” is his response to “Tonight I’m gonna party like it’s 1999”? (The Prince song was released in 1982 btw)

Oooooooh. 1972 is giving me Uno vibes. The band might not admit it, but I think they are making songs that will be a redemption of some of those ideas first tried out on Uno. Like, those 5 or 6 songs that Rob Cavallo was so hyped about? Yeah, they hone in on THAT and make a banger.

I tried finding it and all I got was reminders of Steve Irwins death. I wonder how much of Green Day 14 we've heard. They are so many disembodied songs floating around. The teasers, the one eyed guy, 1981, Beach Boys cover, Fever, DJD. Some of the teasers may have been scrapped or changed. I'm thinking 1981 will be the only thing we recognize if it's even included and it will be amazing to get a batch of totally new, unfamiliar songs. February! 13 songs. Blue album art. Leaning heavy into power pop and Breakdown sounds, might get some Nimrodisms. Even a small bit of Father of All because unicorns still puke...I mean swallow...I mean RAWK.

I'm curious to know the director(s) of the music videos for this new album. My favourite videos have always been the ones that were directed by Mark Kohr. Walking Contradiction music video is a favourite too. I know the artists/labels do not prefer expensive music videos like they did in the 90s. I have no doubt that this album will be special. Hopefully the music videos will be unique as well(rather than not so special performance type music videos).
