I think what’s most defeating this time is that there have been multiple points of teasing or insider info that all ultimately amounted to nothing. Usually it ramps up and eventually happens but this has been like edging with no orgasm in sight, maybe ever.

If they really want to fuck with Warner they should just play their entire new album on July 14th and 16th.

Waiting for this album is so boring. No Coverups shows or Foxboro or Longshot or the Network to tide us over. I miss no fun Mondays and the Oakland Coffee playlists. I am a whining spoiled Green Day fan. The past couple of years suck as a fan that can’t get to the shows. The band seems so quiet for a couple of years now for fans out of the touring areas. Even being far away at least the set lists were fun to see. Not anymore though. I hope the bands shakes up the setlist next touring cycle. I hope at least a single comes or a cover or anything comes out soon. I’ve been a Green Day fan for nearly my entire life and this is the first time being a fan has felt so anticlimactic for way too long. This thread is hundreds of pages and thousands of comments/posts. Is this the biggest longest most boring anticipation thread for the GDC?

oh boy i love the punchy rawness of phgp, so many memories i have with their music, i always hoped for new material!

Its almost like the record company want to do what is the best thing financially as opposed to what the band and fans want.

in reality its the opposite yeah, most "big international bands" have contracts and cant freely decide when to release their work they write new music, record it etc, but in the end its up to the music label when to release it, depending on promotion/tour/money, in the end its all about $$ there are "big" bands who are working independent and can release music when they want to, but not green day i guess

But there really are people in here that have contact with either the band themselves or at least their inner circle, like @Sanity Loan and @pacejunkie punk

Green Day being Punk Rock, that would be the day. What if they played the next album in full and then....didn't play Basketcase? Oh man. I think Johnny Rotten would change his mind about Green Day and proclaim them the new kings of Punk Rock.

Few years? 2026 for Pinhead Gunpowder and then 1972 will be thrown out with no promotion in 2032 or something.

An international known and very successful big band like Green Day has no control about their album release timeline? I would be shocked if this is really true.

"Early 2024" is between January 1st and April 30th. There are only 7 Fridays within this timeframe, so we can calmly speculate GD14 to release on one of the following dates: January 5th or 19th. (they've never done a January release) February 2nd or 16th. (My fake money is on 2/16/24) March 1st, 15th, 29th. (they've never had a March release) April 5th, 19th. (39 Smooth was in April, and they ARE feeling nostalgic....but nothing exists in their mind from this era. so no) February 16th, 2024, Midnight, Our Time !

As much as I want new material, I want it to be ready when it comes out. I don’t want them to force it out prematurely because of fan pressure (as if they would cave to us like that). That being said, I do wish it were ready already.
